This study was mainly about genetic algorithms of feature selection. The features adopted by this paper include CCM and DBPSP for the relationship between color and texture, CHKM for the color information of an image. The genetic algorithm of this study is implemented by MatLab program. The genetic algorithm optimization and searching technology adopted mechanics of genes and natural selection, and the algorithm implementation steps are: population initialization, fitness functions, selection, crossover, mutation, iteration and evolution. Feature selections used here are Sequential Forward Selection (SFS), Sequential Backward Selection (SBS), and the genetic algorithm-based feature selection used in this essay respectively. This study was analyzed and compared the result of the experiment respectively. The experiment was carried out for comparing the image retrieval accuracy, feature selection and computing time of image retrieval.

This paper proposes a method of 3D topological reconstruction for informationally structured space including sensor networks and robot partners for co-existing with people. The informationally structured space realizes the quick update and access of valuable and useful information for both people and robots on real and virtual environments. In this paper, we use distance information and color information measured by 3D distance image sensor and CMOS camera for 3D topological reconstruction. First, we propose an extraction method of objects from the background image based on Hough transform as preprocessing. Next, we propose a method of 3D topological reconstruction based on growing neural gas to construct informationally structured space. Finally, we show experimental results of the proposed method and discuss the effectiveness of the proposed method.

To identify proper services, business requirements and business change factors should be analyzed because the ultimate aim of a service oriented system is to achieve business requirements and business agility. We propose a service identification method based on scenario modeling and a conceptual framework to elicit possible business changes. This paper considers the localization of a rocket projectile's landing point in an explosive testing zone using a wireless sensor network. Grid anchor nodes with seismic sensors are arranged in the target area. An algorithm is proposed for the positioning of the grid anchor nodes and for hyperbolic localization. Additionally, a node health report is included in the algorithm for the node destroyed by the rocket projectile. This paper includes simulation results for the hyperbolic localization algorithm and the choice of grid anchor nodes.

In large-scale object tracking wireless sensor networks, multiple mobile nodes will bring large amount of communication overheads in maintaining the accuracy of localization tracking, which would possibly affect the collection and dissemination of the tracking data, seriously. Existing seminar works purely focus on achieving optimal tracking accuracy and suffer from large amount of protocol overhead, due to lacking of adaptations on various accuracy requirements for different tracking applications. In this paper, we propose a prediction based object tracking protocol for tiered accuracy requirements. The tired accuracy requirements are perceived by each entity so as to establish a unified predicted model for the moving objects and the sink nodes. Moreover, the network entities could share the corresponding model parameters to others related, thus, all the interested entities use the same model to predict the moving objects and the corresponded sink location, so as to achieve a precise location. In this approach, the system achieves efficient data distribution and information sharing to reduce communication overheads, such that tiered application requirements are satisfied. An optimal model on vehicular mobility in analytical form is made, employing the trace generated by kinematic model and the data collected in real experiments. In that, we set up a simulation environment in evaluating our protocol using Qualnet, a validated commercial simulation platform. Simulation results show that, the proposed algorithm can effectively improve network efficiency and successfully satisfy different level of application requirements.

Aim at the hysteretic nonlinearity characteristic of the giant magnetostrictive actuator in control, an internal model control method based on support vector regression is presented in this paper. Its models are built by support vector regression using the input and output data of the actuator and the internal model control is achieved. While a tunneling field-effect transistor (TFET) is an attractive candidate for sub-20 nm ultra-low-power device, high I ON /I OFF and on-current are rarely reported with the deep-submicron structures. In this study, we propose a practical novel TFET structure with vertical channel and Ge junction, which shows high current ratio, low subthreshold swing and relatively high current even when the minimum device dimension is smaller than 20 nm. To find the optimum design, the off-state injection of a short-channel TFET and optimization of the source-side junction are studied by simulation.

Because it is almost impossible to train the dispatchers with real power system, the dispatcher training simulator (DTS) is used for the training. Among various components of the DTS, the power system model (PSM) emulates the dynamic behavior of the power system to calculate the frequency and voltage. In the PSM, the power plants are modeled as differential equations, so the mechanical power of the power plants is calculated by the numerical methods. Conventionally, the fixed step-size algorithm has been used in the PSM, however it has some drawbacks. This paper develops the prototype PSM using the Matlab, and analyzes the problems of the fixed step-size algorithm by comparing the results with those of PSCAD simulation considered as a real system. In order to overcome the limitations, the adaptive step size method for the PSM is proposed by modifying the general adaptive step size method. From the simulation using the proposed method, it is verified that the accuracy of the PSM is increased.
