OFDM systems are sensitive to front-end imperfections including CFO, IQ imbalance and phase noise. In practice, these imperfections are inevitable and would lead to significant performance degradation. In this paper, a general closed-form expression on average signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio (SINR) over multipath fading channels is derived for performance evaluation. When additive white Gaussian noise channels and flat fading channels are considered, the expression reduces to an exact expression and a tight upper bound, respectively. Our results show that the average SINR is inversely proportional to these front-end non-idealities.

Association rule discovery is one of kernel tasks of data mining. Concept lattice, induced from a binary relation between objects and features, is a very useful formal analysis tool. It represents the unification of concept intension and extension. It reflects the association between objects and features, and the relationship of generalization and specialization among concepts. There is a one-to-one correspondence between concept intensions and closed frequent itemsets. This paper presents an efficient algorithm for mining association rules based concept lattice called Arca (Association Rule based Concept lAttice). Arca algorithm uses concept-matrix to build a part of concept lattice, in which the intension of every concept be put into one-to-one correspondence with a closed frequent itemset. Then all association rules are discovered by 4 operators which are defined in this paper performed on these concepts.

In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the JXTA-based e-Learning P2P system. We also show the design and implementation of a smart box environment that will be used for stimulating the learners to increase the learning efficiency. The smart box is intended to be integrated with our P2P system as a useful tool for monitoring and controlling learners' activity. Finally, it is also useful to evaluate the feasibility of our P2P platform to integrate different computational devices.

As the Web increase drastically, more and more entity information come to appear on Web, including their profile information, their web log containing their idea, activity, speech and so on. However, there are many entities sharing same names. Such entities include persons, locations and so on. This paper presents an approach to estimate the number of entities sharing same name by employing many-to-one features. The basic idea is that the entities are not likely to share all other features even if they have the same name. We list some strategies for selecting key features, present an approach to extract the features on Web, and combine them to estimate the entity number. What is more, we also give a method to identify the fake information which will confuse us and filter them.

This research integrates Taguchi's parameter design method, back-propagation neural networks (BPNN), and Davidon-Fletcher-Powell (DFP) method to optimize the process parameter settings of plastic injection molding. Taguchi's parameter design method is used to arrange an orthogonal array experiment and to reduce the number of set-test cycles. Injection Time, Velocity Pressure Switch Position, Packing Pressure, and Injection Velocity are selected as process control parameters and product weight is selected as the single product quality. The experimental data of Taguchi's parameter design method are used for effectively training and testing BPNN. Then, BPNN is combined with DFP to search out the final optimal process parameter settings. Finally, a confirmation experiment is performed to confirm the effectiveness of the final optimal process parameter settings. The experimental results show that the proposed effective process parameter optimization approach can avoid shortcomings inherent in the application of trial-and-error processes or the conventional Taguchi parameter design method. Furthermore, the proposed approach can effectively assist engineers in determining optimal initial process parameter settings and achieving competitive advantages on product quality and costs.

This paper presents a new method on fault distribution modeling for stochastic prediction study of voltage sags in the distribution system. Two-dimensional stochastic models for fault modeling make it possible to obtain the fault performance for the whole system of interest, which helps obtaining not only sag performance at individual locations but also system sag performance through system indices of voltage sag. By using bivariate normal distribution for fault distribution modeling, the paper estimates the influence of model parameters on system voltage sag performance. The paper also develops the modified SARFI{sub}X regarding phase loads that creates better estimation for voltage sag performance for distribution system.
