Since a significant amount of redundant information causes problems like inefficiency or congestion in the existing RSS, a method using part of speech (pos) tagging to extract keywords is proposed to solve these problems. Firstly, the title of news is analyzed by using Chinese word segmentation and speech tagging system. Then, the keywords of the title are identified according to their part of speech. All of the extracted keywords are compared, categorized and stored according to the proposed criterion in this paper. In that case, all the news in the same category is identical or similar. This paper presents a new method for classification of underwater transient signals, which employs frame-based decision with mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC). The MFCC feature vector is extracted frame-by-frame basis for an input signal that is detected as a transient signal, and Euclidean distances are calculated between this and all MFCC feature vectors in the reference database. Then each frame of the detected input signal is mapped to the class having minimum Euclidean distance in the reference database. Finally the input signal is classified as the class that has maximum mapping rate in the reference database. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is very promising for classification of underwater transient signals.

Dependability requirements such as safety and availability often conflict with one another making the development of dependable systems challenging. It is not always possible to design a system that fulfils all of its dependability requirements and consequently, it is necessary to identify conflicts early in the development process and to optimize the architectural design with regard to dependability and cost. This paper first provides an overview of fifteen different approaches to optimizing system designs at an architectural level. Then an abstract method is proposed that synthesises the main points of the different approaches to yield a generic approach that could be applied across a wide variety of different system attributes. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.

In this paper, we present a new approach to investigate the existence and design of reduced-order proper H_(infinity) controllers that provide the same level of performance as that of full-order controllers. By revealing some special features of the LMI-based solvability conditions for the H_(infinity) control problem for descriptor systems, we obtain a refined bound on the order of H_(infinity) controllers, which is independent of (invariant under the allowed transformations on) a descriptor realization of the generalized plant. Moreover, we provide two LMI-based algorithms to design the reduced-order controllers and demonstrate the validity of the presented theoretical results via two numerical examples. This paper not only extends in a satisfying way the results on reduced-order H_(infinity) controllers for state-space systems to descriptor systems, but also provides insight into the mechanism by which the order of H_(infinity) controllers for descriptor systems can be reduced through a consideration of the unstable finite zeros or infinite zeros.

Grid computing emerges as an effective technology to couple geographically distributed resources and solve large-scale computational problems in wide area networks. There are several popular grid platforms, such as UNICORE and Globus Toolkit. Many famous grid projects are constructed with these platforms, each of which manages different distributed resources. In order to aggregate resources managed by different grid platforms, it is necessary to implement the interoperation among these grid platforms. Security interoperation is one of key issues for the interoperation. CGSP (ChinaGrid Support Platform) and VEGA are two popular grid platforms in China. To achieve security interoperation between these two platforms, four mapping policies, including user-user mapping, user-agora mapping, role-user mapping, role-agora mapping, are proposed in this paper. The security interoperation process is proposed based on SAML specification and the mapping policies. We also analyze the flexibility of mapping policies and the security of the interoperation process.

It now becomes a trend to implement the interconnections between resources as well as services in ubiquitous systems. Attribute-based authorization mechanisms, protocols and systems are gaining in popularity, such as SAML, XACML, Shibboleth, etc. However, their management efficiency could be further improved. The Role-based Access Control (RBAC) mechanism is widely accepted as a general mechanism for authorization management. However, RBAC is still not flexible enough to address various application scenarios in ubiquitous systems. We propose a new architecture for access control in ubiquitous systems that impose attribute and status constraints on the RBAC model, which can significantly enhance the generality and flexibility of authorization by integrating the advantages of RBAC and attributed- based access control models. Moreover, the state mechanism proposed in this architecture captures the states of the authorization elements so as to reflect the outcomes of the authorization control. Finally, we analyze the flexibility and generality of this architecture in ubiquitous systems.

Since the current rate control schemes in H.264 do not present the capability of efficient GOP-level bit allocation, the video quality varies greatly for sequences with the scene change or the scene complexity varying from one GOP to another. To overcome the limitation, we propose a novel rate control scheme based on incremental PID algorithm. The incremental PID algorithm is introduced to minimize video quality variations in GOP-level bit allocation. Extensive simulation results show that the proposed rate control scheme, without expensive computational complexity added, decreases the average video quality variations by 15.07%.

We propose a coevolutionary system which reciprocally develops player's strategies in two player games. The game environment is the seven stud poker that is a complex real- world game of imperfect information. In our system, the players decide their actions based on a self-learning by Classifier systems and then make the strategies more complex and excellent. We analyze dynamics of the evolution of the player's strategies and show the learning process of reciprocating skills of players.

Recommendation system is one of the most important technologies applied in e-commerce. Similarity measuring method is fundamental to collaborative filtering algorithm, and traditional methods are inefficient especially when the user rating data are extremely sparse. Based on the outstanding characteristics of Cloud Model on the process of transforming a qualitative concept to a set of quantitative numerical values, a novel similarity measuring method, namely the likeness comparing method based on cloud model (LICM) is proposed in this paper. LICM compares the similarity of two users on knowledge level, which can overcome the drawback of attributes' strictly matching. This work analysis traditional methods throughly and puts forward a novel collaborative filtering algorithm, which is based on the LICM method. Experiments on typical data set show the excellent performance of the present collaborative filtering algorithm based on LICM, even with extremely sparsity of data.

For an odd prime p, an even integer n, and d = p k + 1 with gcd(n, k) = 1, there are p + 1 distinct decimated sequences s(dt + l), 0 les I < p + 1, for a p-ary m-sequence s(t) of period p n - 1 since gcd(d, p n -1) = p + 1. In this paper, the cross-correlation distribution between a p-ary m-sequence s(t) and its p+1 distinct decimated sequences s(dt+l) is derived. The maximum magnitude of their cross-correlation values is l+p radic p n if I = 0 mod p + 1 for n = 0 mod 4 or I = (p + l)/2 mod p + 1 for n = 2 mod 4 and otherwise, 1 + radicp n . Also by using s(t) and s(dt + I), a new family of p-ary sequences of period p n -1 is constructed, whose family size is p n middot and C max is 1+ pradicp n .
