The individual of population in standard self-adaptive evolutionary programming (EP) is composed as a pair of objective variable and strategy parameter. Therefore, EP must evolve both objective variable and strategy parameter. In standard evolutionary programming (CEP), these evolutions are implemented by mutation based on only Gaussian random number. On the other hand, fast evolutionary programming (FEP) uses Cauchy random number as evolution of objective variable and exponential evolutionary programming (EEP) uses exponential random number as evolution of objective variable. However, all of these EP (CEP, FEP and EEP) commonly uses Gaussian random number as evolution of strategy parameter. In this paper, we propose new EEP algorithm (NEP) which uses double exponential random number for both evolution of objective variable and strategy parameter. The experimental results show that this new algorithm (NEP) outperforms the existing CEP and FEP.

In view of the limitation of existing Neural Network model in solving time series forecasting problem, put forward a new Multi-Rule & Real-Time Training Neural Network (MRRTTNN) model. The characteristics of this proposed model including (1) miniaturize the forecasting network, (2)train the network in real-time way, (3) adopt the average of abundant forecasting and (4) add some rules to assistant forecasting. Relative to the traditional Neural Network model,this model focus on dynamic training and dynamic forecasting, increase three rules (rule of dealing with abnormity, rule of retraining and rule of adopting the average) to assistant forecasting. Numerical example suggests the correctness and feasibility of this model. The contradistinctive result of this model and other five models indicates the validity and superiority of this model.

An 8×8 carbon nanotube (CNT) sensor array integrated on top of the CMOS chip is proposed. After the chip is fabricated in standard CMOS process, the CNTs network is formed on top of each sensor cell site of the fabricated chip. When the resistance of the CNT is changed by the chemical reaction, the sensing circuit in the chip measures the charging time of the RC (CNT-Resistor & Capacitor). Finally the information of measured time is converted to a digital code. The CMOS chip was fabricated by Dongbu 0.1 Sum technology and the size of the 8×8 sensor array is 2 mm*2mm. From the electrochemical experiments, the test chip shows the feasibility of sensor for the simultaneous detection of the various chemical reactions.

This paper examines the mechanism of disturbance rejection in control systems employing a technique called equivalent-input-disturbance estimation. Analysis of the mechanism shows that the filter in the control system strongly affects the disturbance rejection performance. A new method of designing such control systems that employs H infin control theory and linear matrix inequalities is presented; and simulations of a magnetic levitation system demonstrate its validity

Swarm-diversity is an important factor influencing the global convergence of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). In order to overcome the premature convergence, the paper develops a diversity-controlled PSO (DCPSO). DCPSO adopts swarm-diversity as a dynamic indicator to control the tuning of the parameters in a search, which in turn, can not only modify the swarm diversity, but also manipulate the exploitation and the exploration adaptively. Some experiments have been done and the results show DCPSO performs very well on benchmark optimization problems, and outperforms the basic PSO with a robust global convergent ability.

Cyber theft is a serious threat to Internet security. It is one of the major security concerns by both network service providers and Internet users. Though sensitive information can be encrypted when stored in non-volatile memory such as hard disks, for many e-commerce and network applications, sensitive information is often stored as plaintext in main memory. Documented and reported exploits facilitate an adversary stealing sensitive information from an application's memory. These exploits include illegitimate memory scan, information theft oriented buffer overflow, invalid pointer manipulation, integer overflow, password stealing Trojans and so forth. Today's computing system and its hardware cannot address these exploits effectively in a coherent way. This paper presents a unified and lightweight solution, called InfoShield that can strengthen application protection against theft of sensitive information such as passwords, encryption keys, and other private data with a minimal performance impact. Unlike prior whole memory encryption and information flow based efforts, InfoShield protects the usage of information. InfoShield ensures that sensitive data are used only as defined by application semantics, preventing misuse of information. Comparing with prior art, InfoShield handles a broader range of information theft scenarios in a unified framework with less overhead. Evaluation using popular network client-server applications shows that InfoShield is sound for practical use and incurs little performance loss because InfoShield only protects absolute, critical sensitive information. Based on the profiling results, only 0.3% of memory accesses and 0.2% of executed codes are affected by InfoShield.

The issue of how to combine a distributed database based Web with the technology of mobile agent has attracted more and more attention. However there are some problems in the combination of the present existed platform of mobile agent and a Web database, especially in respect of security, conformity and interaction. So the structure and function of the present existed platform of mobile agent should be modified, then a platform of mobile agent possessed different function will be created and compose a new distributed platform of mobile agent. On this base the layer of application management should be introduced to intensify the conformity of the combination of a platform of mobile agent and an application of Web database, which could decrease the difficulty of developing a database application at the platform of mobile agent and the difficulty of such application. At the same time it could increase the performance of this kind of application

In order to improve the global convergent ability of the standard particle swarm optimization (SPSO), the paper develops a new version of particle swarm optimization guided by the acceleration information (AGPSO). Firstly, the paper introduces the concept of acceleration into the AGPSO version and makes a convergent analysis of the new model. Secondly, the paper studies the parameter choices of the AGPSO model. Thirdly, the paper provides the A GPSO with an oscillating factor to adjust the influence of the acceleration on the velocity, which can guarantee the AGPSO to converge to the global optimization validly. Finally, the proposed AGPSO versions are used to some benchmark optimizations, the experimental results show those AGPSO versions can overcome the premature problem validly, and outperforms the standard PSO in the global search ability with a quicker convergent speed

In this paper, we present the architecture of the interactive T-DMB system using the CDMA network for the new interactive broadcasting services. We also propose the structure of the new platform based on WIPI to link broadcasting and telecommunication. In this paper, design principles and application of a thin and flexible intravascular top hat monopole probe with increased signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and improved longitudinal and radial coverage are described and compared with the conventional monopole probe. The top hat probe is constructed by removing a segment of the shield of a coaxial cable. A flexible thin copper foil in contact with the inner conductor of the cable is added to the end section of the cable. The copper foil acts as an antenna top hat load increasing the uniformity of the current distribution on the probe and establishes a uniform region of SNR distribution around the probe. Improvement of the SNR distribution of the top hat probe relative to the conventional monopole probe is evaluated using quantitative indices. Experimental results show that for the top hat probe, the ratio of the maximum image SNR to its relative standard deviation (SR) is 2.73 times higher than that of a conventional probe. © 2006 IOP Publishing Ltd.
