Federated learning (FL) is a promising decentralized machine learning approach that enables multiple distributed clients to train a model jointly while keeping their data private. However, in real-world scenarios, the supervised training data stored in local clients inevitably suffer from imperfect annotations, resulting in subjective, inconsistent and biased labels. These noisy labels can harm the collaborative aggregation process of FL by inducing inconsistent decision boundaries. Unfortunately, few attempts have been made towards noise-tolerant federated learning, with most of them relying on the strategy of transmitting overhead messages to assist noisy labels detection and correction, which increases the communication burden as well as privacy risks. In this paper, we propose a simple yet effective method for noise-tolerant FL based on the well-established co-training framework. Our method leverages the inherent discrepancy in the learning ability of the local and global models in FL, which can be regarded as two complementary views. By iteratively exchanging samples with their high confident predictions, the two models “teach each other” to suppress the influence of noisy labels. The proposed scheme enjoys the benefit of overhead cost-free and can serve as a robust and efficient baseline for noise-tolerant federated learning. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing approaches, highlighting the superiority of our method.

Bipolar junction transistors(BJTs) are often used in spacecraft due to their excellent working characteristics. However,the complex space radiation environment induces primary knock-on atoms(PKAs) in BJTs through collisions, resulting in hard-to-recover displacement damage and affecting the performance of electronic components. In this paper, the properties of PKAs induced by typical space heavy ions(C, N, O, Fe) in BJTs are investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. The simulated results show that the energy spectrum of ion-induced PKAs is primarily concentrated in the low-energy range(17eV–100eV) and displays similar features across all tested ions. The PKAs induced by the collision of energetic ions have large forward scattering angles, mainly around 88°. Moreover, the distribution of PKAs within a transistor as a function of depth displays a peak characteristic, and the peak position is linearly proportional to the incident energy at a certain energy range. These simulation outcomes serve as crucial theoretical support for long-term semiconductor material defect evolution and ground testing of semiconductor devices.

The inherent electrocatalytic potential of transition metal phosphides(TMPs)for oxygen evolution is influenced by the reduced efficiency of electron transfer resulting from the interaction between electronegative phosphorus atoms and transition ***,we introduce Fe into Ni_(2)P nanocrystals by thermal injection synthesis method,and anchor them on nickel foam(NF)by facile spraying to prepare self-supporting oxygen evolution reaction(OER)***,the optimized electrode of Ni_(2)P-Fe-2/NF demonstrates low overpotentials of 212 mV with 10 mA·cm^(-2)and a 0.9%decay within300 h test of 50 mA·cm^(-2).Notably,when electrode size was expanded to 600 cm^(2)and applied to a larger electrolyzer,its 9 h decay rate at 6 A current was only 1.69%.Characterization results show that Fe doped NiOOH is generated during OER reaction as actual catalyst,Results from density functional theory(DFT)computations suggest that Fe doping shifts NiOOH d-band center to Fermi level,lowering critical *OOH intermediates formation energy barrier during the OER *** findings inform the large-scale industrial application of TMPs as robust electrocatalysts.
