With the development of optical technologies,transparent materials that provide protection from light have received considerable attention from *** important channels for external light,windows play a vital role in the regulation of light in buildings,vehicles,and *** is a need for windows with switchable optical properties to prevent or attenuate damage or interference to the human eye and light-sensitive instruments by inappropriate optical *** this context,liquid crystals(LCs),owing to their rich responsiveness and unique optical properties,have been considered among the best candidates for advanced light protection *** this review,we provide an overview of advances in research on LC-based methods for protection against ***,we introduce the characteristics of different light sources and their protection ***,we introduce several classes of light modulation principles based on liquid crystal materials and demonstrate the feasibility of using them for light *** addition,we discuss current light protection strategies based on liquid crystal materials for different ***,we discuss the problems and shortcomings of current *** propose several suggestions for the development of liquid crystal materials in the field of light protection.

Heart failure alters the electrophysiological properties of cardiomyocytes, leading to changes in the overall mechanical function of the heart, with significant implications for human health. Current research on heart failure predominantly focuses on two-dimensional electrophysiological models, which limits their ability to fully capture the complexity of heart failure. In contrast, our work integrates both electrophysio-logical and mechanical aspects by developing a cardiomyocyte model incorporating heart failure remodeling within a three-dimensional electromechanical coupling model, providing a more comprehensive understanding of heart failure dynamics. We investigated the variations in electromechanical coupling properties of the left ventricle under heart failure conditions, focusing on key indicators such as ventricular action potentials, myocardial contractility, ventricular volume, and pressure. The simulation results successfully reproduced the impact of heart failure on both electrophysiological and mechanical characteristics. Additionally, the simulation observed reentrant waves under heart failure conditions, further revealing that heart failure predisposes the heart to reentrant arrhythmias. In conclusion, the 3D electromechanical coupling model presented in this study offers crucial insights into the mechanisms of reentry phenomena and arrhythmogenesis under heart failure conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

Theoretical and experimental studies on the electrodeposited nanocrystalline Ag coatings from a novel Ag2O-based non-cyanide electrolyte

Functional silver coatings have been widely applied in fields of electrochemical energy conversion systems, electronics industry and antibacterial materials, and exploiting new non-cyanide silver electroplating bath system is of great significance for promoting the application. In this work, a new type of cyanide-free electrodeposited silver (Ag) system was developed with Ag2O as the main salt, 5,5-dimethyl hydantoin (DMH) as the silver ion complexing agent and potassium carbonate as the conductive salt. Comprehensive quantum chemical calculations demonstrate that the new silver-based system has the solvation structure of [Ag(C5H7N2O2)2]−(5N(2)-Ag). To further, roles of additives combination (L-cysteine and 2,2-bipyridine) and their fundamental mechanism on the silver electrodeposition process was further investigated by electrochemical tests and theoretical calculations. First-Principles calculation and simulation of molecular dynamics reveal that this additive couple have coordination interactions with Ag+, while strong adsorption on the Ag (1 1 1) surface. SEM and XRD analyses showed that the combination of L-cysteine and 2,2-bipyridine achieved an ideal silver coating with good morphology and a low grain size of 22.1 nm, verifying the great potential of the novel system to prepare high-quality silver coatings. © 2023

A bytecode-based integrated detection and repair method for reentrancy vulnerabilities in smart contracts

The reentrancy vulnerability in smart contracts has caused significant losses in the digital currency economy. Existing solutions for detecting and repairing this vulnerability are limited in scope and lack a comprehensive framework. Additionally, there is currently a lack of guidance methods for effectively pinpointing the location of vulnerabilities. The proposed bytecode-level method addresses these challenges by incorporating a detection module, an auxiliary localization module, and a repair module. An opcode classification method is introduced using vulnerability features and a BiLSTM-Attention-based sequence model to enhance detection accuracy. To overcome difficulties in vulnerability localization, an auxiliary localization method based on data flow and control flow analysis is proposed, enabling developers to better locate vulnerabilities. Current reentrancy vulnerability repair methods are analyzed and strategies for three reachable patterns are proposed. The bytecode rewriting strategy utilizes Trampoline technology for repair, while a fuel optimization method reduces bytecode generation length to optimize gas costs. Through extensive experimental validation, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed methods are confirmed, further validating the feasibility of the entire framework. Experimental results demonstrate that the framework offers enhanced protection against reentrancy vulnerability attacks in smart contracts. © 2023 The Authors. Oxygen deficiency has crucial effects on the crystal structure and electrochemical performance of spinel oxide lithium electrode materials such as LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4)(LNMO)*** particular,the oxygen stoichiometry on the crystal surface differs from that on the crystal interior in *** detection of local oxygen loss in LNMO and its correlation with the crystal structure and the cycling stability of LNMO remain *** this study,the effect of oxygen deficiency in LNMO controlled by sintering temperature on the surface crystal structure and electrochemical performance of LNMO is comprehensively *** high concentration of oxygen vacancies segregates at the surface regions of LNMO forming a thin rock‐salt and/or deficient spinel surface *** atomic‐level surface structure reconstruction was demonstrated by annular dark‐field and annular brightfield *** the synthesis of LNMO,the higher sintering temperature results in higher crystallinity but the higher oxygen deficiency in *** high crystallinity of LNMO would increase the thermal stability of LNMO cathodes while the high content of oxygen deficiency would decrease the surface structural stability of ***,the LNMO sintered at a medium temperature of 850°C achieved the best capacity *** results suggest a competitive function mechanism between oxygen stoichiometry and the crystallinity of LNMO on the cycling performance of LNMO.

Enriched Constant Elements in the Boundary Element Method for Solving 2D Acoustic Problems at Higher Frequencies

The boundary element method(BEM)is a popular method for solving acoustic wave propagation problems,especially those in exterior domains,owing to its ease in handling radiation conditions at ***,BEM models must meet the requirement of 6–10 elements per wavelength,using the conventional constant,linear,or quadratic ***,a large storage size of memory and long solution time are often needed in solving higher-frequency *** this work,we propose two new types of enriched elements based on conventional constant boundary elements to improve the computational efficiency of the 2D acoustic *** first one uses a plane wave expansion,which can be used to model scattering *** second one uses a special plane wave expansion,which can be used tomodel radiation *** examples are investigated to showthe advantages of the enriched *** with the conventional constant elements,the new enriched elements can deliver results with the same accuracy and in less computational *** improvement in the computational efficiency is more evident at higher frequencies(with the nondimensional wave numbers exceeding 100).The paper concludes with the potential of our proposed enriched elements and plans for their further improvement.

In this study,a crack-free pyrolysis process of partially cured precursor powder compacts was developed to prepare dense silicon boron carbonitride(SiBCN)monoliths at much lower temperatures(1300℃),thereby circumventing the challenges of sintering densification(>1800℃).Unlike the elastic fracture in over-cured precursors or the viscoelastic deformation in under-cured precursors,the partially cured precursor,exhibiting elastic-plastic deformation behavior,facilitates limited nanoscale pore formation in a dense structure,achieving a balance between crack-free pyrolysis and *** to SiBCN derived from the over-cured precursor(σ=~159 MPa,K_(IC)=1.9 MPa:m^(1/2),Vickers hardness(HV)=7.8 GPa,and E=122 GPa),the resulting SiBCN monolith exhibited significantly improved mechanical properties(σ=~304 MPa,K_(IC)=3.7 MPa-m12,HV=10.6 GPa,and E=161 GPa)and oxidation *** addition,this study investigated the high-temperature performance of SiBCN monoliths,including crystallization and oxidation,and determined the oxidation kinetics induced by pore structure healing and the different oxidation mechanisms of Si-C-N and B-C-N clusters in the amorphous *** to its unique composition and structure,the SiBCN ceramic oxide layer exhibits exceptional self-healing effects on repairing the nanoporous system in the initial stage and shows outstanding high-temperature stability during prolonged oxidation,mitigating adverse effects from bubble formation and *** to the nanoporous structure,the oxidation rate is initially controlled by gas diffusion following a linear law before transitioning to oxide layer diffusion characterized by a parabolic ***,due to different valence bond configurations,Si-C-N transforms into an amorphous SiCNO structure after phase separation,unlike the nucleation and growth of residual B-N-C.

Multiple model PHD filter for tracking sharply maneuvering targets using recursive RANSAC based adaptive birth estimation

An algorithm to track multiple sharply maneuvering targets without prior knowledge about new target birth is proposed. These targets are capable of achieving sharp maneuvers within a short period of time, such as drones and agile *** probability hypothesis density (PHD) filter, which propagates only the first-order statistical moment of the full target posterior, has been shown to be a computationally efficient solution to multitarget tracking problems. However, the standard PHD filter operates on the single dynamic model and requires prior information about target birth distribution, which leads to many limitations in terms of practical applications. In this paper,we introduce a nonzero mean, white noise turn rate dynamic model and generalize jump Markov systems to multitarget case to accommodate sharply maneuvering dynamics. Moreover, to adaptively estimate newborn targets’information, a measurement-driven method based on the recursive random sampling consensus (RANSAC) algorithm is proposed. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves significant improvement in tracking multiple sharply maneuvering targets with adaptive birth estimation.

The concept of a soundmark refers to a distinctive sound source that identifies a particular area based on its environmental acoustic *** study investigated the factors and processes of soundmark identification in urban *** interviewing participants in 14 different urban parks in China,six categories that affect soundmark identification were identified,“sound source”,“context”,“sound perception”,“individual features”,“response”and“comprehension”.First,the core category is *** for context,in amusement parks,activity parks,and nature parks,respectively,the theme,function,and scene affect the soundmark *** sound perception,soundmark identification is affected by the occurrence of birdsongs and the duration of water sounds in nature *** identification is affected by contrast,duration,and audio-visuals in amusement parks and activity ***,a soundmark identification model specifically for urban parks has been *** model contains two identified processes:responsive soundmarks and comprehensive *** responsive soundmark identification processes,sound source,context,sound perception,and response are essential *** comprehensive soundmark identification processes,sound source,context,individual features,and comprehension are essential *** soundmarks cannot be identified if the response or comprehension is missed during the ***,the park’s cultural features promote the identification of comprehensive *** addition,soundmarks can be effectively transformed by changing the context of urban parks or the characteristics of sound perception.
