Sensitivity analysis is a powerful tool in investigating the impact of parameter variations on the change of system behaviours quantitatively. For a periodic system, sensitivity analysis is a challenging problem since the standard sensitivity metrics grow unbounded when time tends to infinity. Objective sensitivity analyses using various oscillation features such as period, phase, amplitude, etc. are therefore needed to circumvent this problem. In this work, a new concept of basal state sensitivity is proposed based on which a phase sensitivity calculation is derived. The improved period sensitivity calculation following an existing algorithm using singular value decomposition (SVD) is also presented, which provides a simple calculation for the basal state sensitivity. These new sensitivity calculations are developed with the purpose to analyse biological oscillators since there is an increasing interest in understanding how oscillations occur and what the main controlling factors are following a growing experimental and computational evidence of oscillations in biological systems. The improved calculation of period sensitivity is shown to be consistent with the previous methods through a well studied circadian rhythm model. The calculation of new objective sensitivities are also testified by the same circadian rhythm model as well as an oscillatory signal transduction pathway model, which further illustrates the efficiency of this approach in handling complex biological oscillators in the presence of reaction conservations.

Negative Selection Algorithm (NSA) is an artificial immune system for anomaly detection. Three weaknesses in NSA are the exponential cost of generating detectors, the difficulty to set the matching threshold, and the deviation between the real and the expected miss detection rate. To improve these weaknesses, a new Negative Selection Algorithm Integrated with Immune Network theory (NSA-IN) was proposed. A matching rule with variable threshold was defined, and clonal selection was adopted to rapidly mature the detectors with low similarity to self bodies and self-adaptively get the matching threshold of detectors, and immune network theory was adopted to optimize the distribution of mature detectors and improve detection rate. Experiments show that, NSA-IN can automatically set the matching threshold, and is the linear cost of generating detectors, and reduces the deviation between the real and the expected miss detection rate. In RFID anomaly detection case, the average miss detection rate of NSA-IN is 0.098, and is lower than that of NSA 0.234.

In order to perform successful diagnosis and treatment of cancer, discovering, and classifying cancer types correctly is essential. One of the challenging properties of class discovery from cancer data sets is that cancer gene expression profiles not only include a large number of genes, but also contains a lot of noisy genes. In order to reduce the effect of noisy genes in cancer gene expression profiles, we propose two new consensus clustering frameworks, named as triple spectral clustering-based consensus clustering (SC 3 ) and double spectral clustering-based consensus clustering (SC 2 Ncut) in this paper, for cancer discovery from gene expression profiles. SC 3 integrates the spectral clustering (SC) algorithm multiple times into the ensemble framework to process gene expression profiles. Specifically, spectral clustering is applied to perform clustering on the gene dimension and the cancer sample dimension, and also used as the consensus function to partition the consensus matrix constructed from multiple clustering solutions. Compared with SC 3 , SC 2 Ncut adopts the normalized cut algorithm, instead of spectral clustering, as the consensus function. Experiments on both synthetic data sets and real cancer gene expression profiles illustrate that the proposed approaches not only achieve good performance on gene expression profiles, but also outperforms most of the existing approaches in the process of class discovery from these profiles.

The development process of the Airborne Force Cooperative Command System (ACCS) is a very complex and dynamic procedure. It is difficult to analyse quantitatively the event of all constituents. In this paper, the domestic and abroad applications of emulation techniques in cooperation are discussed. The overall structural model of the Airborne Force Cooperative Command System based on MAS (Multi-Agent System) is built up together with the structural model of the individual agent based on the BDI (Belief-Desire-Intention) architecture. This paper proposes a novel strategy based on fragment meshes of Shiue et al. for GPU rendering of compos- ite subdivision surfaces. Two enumeration systems are established to label the primitives of each fragment mesh. A sector-layer-index enumeration system is responsible for retrieving proximities for subdivision masks while a sec- tor-index enumeration system designates a 2D texture buffer in GPU. Recurring to the free conversion between them, our approach may get rid of lookup tables that are designed to record subdivision masks. In addition, relatively small composite subdivision masks make it easy to develop automatically retrieving techniques. Finally, as center vertices are often irregular, their computation is related to an average with alterable number of items. Considering that variable loop is not efficient in GPU, we evaluate the center vertex of each fragment mesh using the linear combination of its level 0, level 1 and limit positions instead of averaging schemes. Experiments demonstrate that our approach generally outper- forms that of Shiue et al. in FPS by a long way.
