Two-Stage Traffic Sign Classification System

Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) has received widespread attention due to increased traffic accidents caused by a failure to recognize road traffic signs. Most Traffic Sign Recognition remains challenging due to the illumination of natural scenes, and the diversity in traffic signs [31]. To solve the problem, we proposed a two-stage classification system to overcome the above-mentioned challenges and classify the traffic sign boards efficiently. During the first phase, colour based histogram equalizations applied to eliminates the illumination factors and then traffic sign boards are classified into many shapes, which includes circular, triangular, hexagonal, and diamond traffic signs boards based on the modified HOG feature descriptors and various machine learning classifiers are compared [12]. In the second phase, circular and triangular traffic signs are further categorized into specific subclasses using circular and triangular signs trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) respectively to overcome intra-class variation among the similar sign board. Experimentation was conducted on German Traffic Sign Recognition Benchmark dataset (GTSRB) [30] and the results show 99.96% top-1 accuracy during the first stage of classification. In the second stage, there is accuracy of 99.40% for circular traffic signs and 97.50% for triangular traffic signs.

The problem of signal detection and classification of multiple UAVs can be solved using object detection techniques in computer vision. However, this requires collecting and labeling a large amount of reliable raw data. Since the UAV signal dataset cannot be directly applied to object detection, we propose a method using time-frequency domain filtering and automatic labeling to construct a large-scale time-frequency spectrogram dataset. Experimental results show that the average recognition accuracies of image transmission signals and remote control signals under interference conditions are 97% and 82%, respectively, while the average errors of signal parameters are 0.93% and 5.57%. © 2023 IEEE.

The jump filter in the discontinuous Galerkin method for hyperbolic conservation laws

MSC Codes 65M60, 65M12, 65M20, 65L06When simulating hyperbolic conservation laws with discontinuous solutions, high-order linear numerical schemes often produce undesirable spurious oscillations. In this paper, we propose a jump filter within the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method to mitigate these oscillations. This filter operates locally based on jump information at cell interfaces, targeting high-order polynomial modes within each cell. Besides its localized nature, our proposed filter preserves key attributes of the DG method, including conservation, L2 stability, and high-order accuracy. We also explore its compatibility with other damping techniques, and demonstrate its seamless integration into a hybrid limiter. In scenarios featuring strong shock waves, this hybrid approach, incorporating this jump filter as the low-order limiter, effectively suppresses numerical oscillations while exhibiting low numerical dissipation. Additionally, the proposed jump filter maintains the compactness of the DG scheme, which greatly aids in efficient parallel computing. Moreover, it boasts an impressively low computational cost, given that no characteristic decomposition is required and all computations are confined to physical space. Numerical experiments validate the effectiveness and performance of our proposed scheme, confirming its accuracy and shock-capturing capabilities. © 2024, CC BY.

In this chapter we provide the implementation of the proposed model which is based on hybrid BERT model using Asian languages for MNMT. Due to its benefits in streamlining the training process, lowering the cost of online maintenance, and boosting low-resource and zero-shot translation, multilingual neural machine translation (NMT)(Ni et al., 2022), which translates many languages using a single model, is of significant practical significance. It is exceedingly laborious to manage them all in a single model or use a new model for each language pair given that there are thousands of languages in the world, some of which are very diverse. As a result, multilingual NMT relies on the ability to choose which languages should be supported by a single model given a set resource budget, such as the number of models. Unfortunately, this issue has not been addressed by prior work(Singh et al., 2020). In this study, we create a framework for grouping languages into various categories and training a single multilingual model for each category. Moreover, we also provides two language clustering techniques: (1) language family-based language clustering utilizing prior information, and (2) language-based language embedding, where each language is represented by an embedding vector and grouped in the embedding space. In specifically, we train a universal neural machine translation model to extract the embedding vectors of every language(S. Yang et al., 2020). Our studies on 23 languages reveal that the first clustering approach is simple and understandable but results in subpar translation accuracy, whereas the second approach adequately captures the relationship between languages and enhances translation accuracy for almost all languages(Araújo et al., 2020). The fuzzy broad learning system (FBLS) is a novel, neuro-fuzzy model. Different from other neuro-fuzzy models with low efficiency, FBLS can obtain better performance using less computation time. However, the clustering-based fuzzy rule generation approach makes the performance of FBLS limited. Meanwhile, it is unknown how the enhancement layers from FBLS contribute to the model performance, which hinders the further extension of the model structure. To solve these problems, we propose a sparse enhancement fuzzy broad learning system (SEFBLS). It uses only a sparse set of enhancement nodes to replace the original enhancement node groups. To obtain a better representation, the designed principal component-based sparse autoencoder is used for feature reconstruction and information removal. In addition, to explore the optimal model structure and performance, multiple clustering methods (fuzzy and non-fuzzy) are used to improve SEFBLS. The results on 10 UCI classification datasets show that the proposed SEFBLS obtains competitive accuracy using fewer fuzzy rules. © 2022 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Continuous gas-solid separation fluidized beds are one of the most widely used practical operation units for the dry separation of coal in China,particularly in Northwest China,and they can effectively promote the efficient and clean utilization of raw *** a continuous gas-solid separation fluidized bed,the bed flow field is the concrete manifestation of the fluidization ***,the complexity of the flow field increases under the action of a moving *** this study,a combination of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations and experimental measurements was used to study the changes in the flow field of a fluidized *** results showed that when the scraper moved,the local flow field(mainly characterized by the movement of medium particles)near the scraper was affected not only by the common airflow or bubbles,but also by the lateral driving force of the *** the scraper speed was v_(l)<6.0 cm/s,it reduced the frequency of the formation of large bubbles and alleviated the random fluctuation of the nearby particle collision stress signals,which improved the fluidization stability of the ***,the movement of the scraper affected the global flow *** flow field shifted to the right near the scraper,with the direction of the scraper movement,while the flow field exhibited a leftward trend on the surface of the bed,accompanied by some vortices,in the middle and lower parts of the ***,the critical height of the area,directly affected by the scraper,increased from 52 to 54 mm with an increase in its operating speed from v_(l)=2.96 cm/s to v_(l)=4.44 cm/s,*** provides a theoretical basis for further understanding the hydrodynamic characteristics of fluidized beds.

With the development of technology and the improvement of people’s living standards, the requirements for wastewater treatment are becoming higher and higher. In view of the current problems of environmental pollutant reduction and energy utilization, we propose to combine the semiconductor photocatalytic reaction with activated carbon membrane modules and RO membrane modules to generate strong oxidizing radicals through sunlight excitation of semiconductor photocatalytic materials at room temperature in order to achieve the treatment of harmful and refractory organic pollutants when photocatalytic materials are excited by sunlight in ordinary temperature, solving the problems of traditional wastewater treatment such as high energy consumption, incomplete treatment and easy generation of secondary pollution. The wastewater treatment apparatus designed in this paper and related technology can not only be used for the pretreatment or advanced treatment of refractory organic wastewater in pharmaceutical, breeding, and medical industries, but also for the purification of micro-polluted water sources. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
