In this paper, we will investigate the energy efficient power loading problem in multipleinput multiple-output singular value decomposition (MIMO-SVD) architecture. Most existing power loading schemes are developed on the assumption that a scheduler possesses perfect channel state information (CSI). However, in practice, perfect CSI is not always available. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient power loading scheme for MIMO system under imperfect CSI, taking into account the effects of channel estimation error (CEE). Specifically, we propose two algorithms to maximise the system energy efficiency. One is a global method which can achieve the global optimal solution with high computational complexity;the other is a suboptimal method which can obtain the approximate optimal solution with lower computational complexity. Simulation results validate the effectiveness and robustness of our proposed power loading scheme. Copyright © 2015 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Content-based image retrieval with WISFC

In this paper, we propose Weighting Inter-class Separating Fuzzy Clustering (WISFC) algorithm and employ it to content-based image retrieval (CBIR). Firstly, the training data set is clustered by k-means algorithm. Then the output cluster centroid is taken as the initial centroid of WISFC and the data set is clustered once again. When submit a query image, get its membership degree for each class using WISFC and the class which has the maximum membership value is what the query example belongs to. Afterwards we can retrieve images which has the larger similarity to the query image only in the class which it belongs to, which greatly reduces the time complexity. Experiments indicate that the method can effectively improve the accuracy of image retrieval. © 2014 Binary Information Press.

Double filtration of topic tracking based on KL divergence

In order to overcome the shortcoming of the static threshold and the problem of the false reports, the method of double filtering topic tracking based on Kullback-Leibler divergence is put forward. In this method, it uses the KL divergence to obtain the initial threshold and the candidate reports. Then, depending on the time characteristics of reports, it studies dynamic threshold method. Finally, it extracts named entities of the reports to calculate similarity of named entities, which completes topic tracking. The experiments prove the feasibility of the algorithm and improves the efficiency of the topic tracking to a certain extent. In addition, it reduces the false negative rate and the false alarm rate.

Attribute based access control model has advantages of high flexibility and scalability. However, at the same time, the problem of policy conflict detection and resolution also becomes hard to solve. To solve this problem, an algorithm based on conflict detection tree is proposed in the paper. The research is done from two aspects of both formal definition and algorithm analysis. The concept of conflict detection tree is introduced into the paper. Through the result of simulation experiment, the algorithm is more suitable to detect policy conflict under the environment of attribute based access control. 1553-9105/Copyright © 2014 Binary Information Press.

A multisphere-based support vector machine

Classification conducted by Support vector machines (SVMs) is determined by a hyperplane. In this paper, we present a novel algorithm named MultiSphere Support Vector Machine (MSSVM) for classification problems. Different from learning hyperplanes by SVMs, MSSVM learns multiple hyperspheres based on the training data. Each hypersphere is determined by a specific class training data, and is characterized by a center a and a radius R. MSSVM can handle large-scale classification problems with less time than other related approaches. We discuss both linear and kernel MSSVM, and evaluate their performance on several datasets. A distributed energy-effcient unequal clustering routing protocol for wireless sensor networks

In order to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks, we propose a distributed energy-effcient unequal clustering routing protocol (DEU). DEU combines uneven clustering and multi-hop routing mechanism. In order to balance energy consumption among cluster-heads, nodes calculate competing radius considering distance to base station and residual energy. In order to avoid cluster-heads dieing early, DEU employs timer to select the nodes with high energy as cluster-heads. In the phase of constructing routing tree, cluster-heads calculate optimal forwarding hops and then they select relay node considering candidate-nodes' optimal forwarding hops, residual energy, inter-cluster and intra-cluster communication cost. By performance analysis, DEU has favorable expansibility and low algorithm complexity. The results of simulation experiments on the OMNet++ show that DEU can better effectively balance energy consumption, save energy and prolong network's lifetime than other algorithms. Web spam detection aided by the bi-directional trend information feedback

In this paper, we proposed a novel web spam detection method aided by bi-directional information feedback. In our opinion, each webpage has its two sides: the positive side trended to the reputable page, and the negative side trended to the spam page. Thus each webpage has its positive score and negative score. At the beginning, we running two initial algorithms to achieve the reputable seed set and spam seed set. Then we set the initial positive scores and negative scores for all pages in the web. During the label propagation, these two kinds of scores attached to respective pages are calculated simultaneously, resulting in the bi-directional tendency functional values varied. In the next iteration, these two bi-directional tendency functions are employed to guide calculating the positive and negative scores belonging to the next linked and anti-linked pages. Finally, when the algorithm comes into convergence, we obtain all the terminal positive scores and negative scores belonging to the respective pages in the mutually connected web. Plenty of experimental results show that our method is feasible, effective to detect whether a webpage is spam or not. © 2014 Binary Information Press.

Multi-tenant data authentication model for SaaS

In SaaS, most tenants rely on the service provider for data maintenance and computation. As tenants no longer possess their application and data locally, it is of critical importance for the tenants to ensure that their data are being correctly stored and maintained. However, the customized multi-tenants sharing storage mode makes it hard for tenants to guarantee their data integrity because multiple tenants’ data is stored in one physical universal table and different data types may be stored into a flex column based on tenants’ customization. Meanwhile to ensure performances of query, adequate pivot table is set up. These introduce new challenges to data integrity protection for tenants. This paper presents a review of the state of the art solutions and recent patents in the fields of data authentication, and puts forward a multitenant data authentication model (MTDA). MTDA is a composite structure that constructs pivot authentication tree (PAT) on the pivot table and combines it with signature set (S-set) built on universal table to ensure that malicious insiders can't modify the data in pivot table and universal table. The main contribution of MTDA is it can guarantee the tenant query result in one tree travels and return the verification object, corresponding to the result on pivot table and universal table. We demonstrate effectiveness of our model compared with direct adoption of the MB tree based approaches on pivot table and universal table through the experiment. MTDA shows a better performance on VO verification. © Li et al.

A new method for image retrieval

We propose a new approach to learn the automatic image annotation for image retrieval. A generation model for the annotated images is formalized, and all the images are divided into different regions based on the visual features of the gray histograms. Giving a training set in which the images are annotated, we calculate the joint probabilistic model for the keywords and the divided regions based on the training data, and obtain the probability of each keyword for an unlabeled image. When inputting an image as a query image, we use the joint model to map the image query to the keywords and output similar image. Experiments show that our method outperforms the other methods on the tasks of the image retrieval. © 2014 by Binary Information Press
