This paper investigates the group formation control problem for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) with random communication constraints. The distributed cloud computing system is constructed to divide agents into groups and establish communication between agents. A data-driven predictive control strategy is proposed by combining networked predictive control and model-free adaptive control method. The desired group formation control performance can be achieved and the three-channel random communication constraints of CPSs are actively compensated. Thisstrategy does not require the system model and relies solely on the system's I/O data for adaptive learning. Further analyses concludes the conditions for simultaneous reach stability and group formation of the closed-loop CPSs using the data-driven predictive control strategy. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is validated by simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.

The development status of the hotel industry in a city is also an essential factor influencing local tourism revenue. In the tourism industry, besides dining and attractions, which are hotspots for public opinion, the hotel industry is also a key area. The development status of the hotel industry in a city is also an essential factor influencing local tourism revenue. In this context, it is crucial for hotels to address how to prevent such negative public opinion crises. In this paper, we use hotel review texts as an example to discuss how to use BERTopic and GRU networks to extract topics and analyze sentiment from guest reviews. This analysis helps understand guests’ focus and sentiment trends regarding hotels, enabling better grasp public opinion direction and user needs. Through topic extraction and sentiment analysis, we can extract crucial information from large scale hotel review texts. This enables monitor public opinion to help prevent large scale public opinion crises, allows for targeted improvements in the hotel industry, and supports decision-making for hotels and the tourism industry. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Existing 3D face alignment and face reconstruction methods mainly focus on the accuracy of the model. When the existing methods are applied to dynamic videos, the stability and accuracy are significantly reduced. To overcome this problem, we propose a novel regression framework that strikes a balance between accuracy and stability. First, on the basis of lightweight backbone, encoder-decoder structure is used to jointly learn expression details and detailed 3D face from video images to recover shape details and their relationship to facial expression, and dynamic regression of a small number of 3D face parameters, effectively improve the speed and accuracy. Secondly, in order to further improve the stability of face landmarks in video, a jitter loss function of multi-frame image joint learning is proposed to strengthen the correlation between frames and face landmarks in video, and reduce the difference amplitude of face landmarks between adjacent frames to reduce the jitter of face landmarks. Experiments on several challenging datasets verify the effectiveness of our method. © 2022 SPIE.

Small object detection is a challenging problem in object detection, in practice, we found a special kind of small object detection results are very poor, we call it camouflaged small object, the color of the object itself is similar to the surrounding environment, that is, the contrast between the object and the surrounding environment is low. Therefore, we propose a method to stretch the grayscale map to directly increase the contrast between the object and the surrounding environment. Then, as to how to effectively fuse the feature of object in grayscale map with the feature of object in original RGB image, we propose a dual-channel feature fusion module DCF, which allows the features extracted from the grayscale map to enhance the features extracted from the original RGB image. We also constructed a camouflaged small object detection dataset SSD, which is a smoking object detection dataset with only one smoking object, containing 4349 images and 4705 object instances. Our proposed DCF framework can be easily embedded into existing object detection frameworks. We experimented on a number of different excellent detectors, Faster R-CNN, RetinaNet, and YOLOv8, and the results show that our method is effective in all of these detectors. © 2024 SPIE.

Skeleton-based action recognition task has been widely studied in recent years. Currently, the most popular researches use graph convolutional network (GCN) to solve this task by modeling human joints data as spatio-temporal graph. However, a large number of long-term temporal motion relationships cannot be effectively captured by GCN. Thus, recurrent neural network (RNN) is introduced to solve this defect. In this work, we propose a model namely graph convolutional network with long time memory (GCN-LTM). Specifically, there are two task streams in our proposed model: GCN stream and RNN stream, respectively. The GCN stream aims to capture the spatial motion relationships as well as the RNN stream focuses on extracting the long-term temporal patterns. In addition, we introduce the contrastive learning strategy to better facilitate feature learning between these two streams. The multiple ablation experiments have verified the feasibility of our proposed model. Numerous experiments show that the proposed model is superior to the current state-of-the-art method under two large-scale datasets including NTU-RGBD and NTU-RGBD-120. © 2023 IEEE.

An inverse design method for supercritical airfoil based on conditional generative models

Inverse design has long been an efficient and powerful design tool in the aircraft *** this paper,a novel inverse design method for supercritical airfoils is proposed based on generative models in deep learning.A Conditional Variational Auto Encoder(CVAE)and an integrated generative network CVAE-GAN that combines the CVAE with the Wasserstein Generative Adversarial networks(WGAN),are conducted as generative *** are used to generate target wall Mach distributions for the inverse design that matches specified features,such as locations of suction peak,shock and aft *** and quantitative results show that both adopted generative models can generate diverse and realistic wall Mach number distributions satisfying the given *** CVAE-GAN model outperforms the CVAE model and achieves better reconstruction accuracies for all the samples in the ***,a deep neural network for nonlinear mapping is adopted to obtain the airfoil shape corresponding to the target wall Mach number *** performances of the designed deep neural network are fully demonstrated and a smoothness measurement is proposed to quantify small oscillations in the airfoil surface,proving the authenticity and accuracy of the generated airfoil shapes.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has profoundly changed and will continue to change our lives. AI is being applied in more and more fields and scenarios such as autonomous driving, medical care, media, finance, industrial robots, and internet services. The widespread application of AI and its deep integration with the economy and society have improved efficiency and produced benefits. At the same time, it will inevitably impact the existing social order and raise ethical concerns. Ethical issues, such as privacy leakage, discrimination, unemployment, and security risks, brought about by AI systems have caused great trouble to people. Therefore, AI ethics, which is a field related to the study of ethical issues in AI, has become not only an important research topic in academia, but also an important topic of common concern for individuals, organizations, countries, and society. This article will give a comprehensive overview of this field by summarizing and analyzing the ethical risks and issues raised by AI, ethical guidelines and principles issued by different organizations, approaches for addressing ethical issues in AI, and methods for evaluating the ethics of AI. Additionally, challenges in implementing ethics in AI and some future perspectives are pointed out. We hope our work will provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of AI ethics for researchers and practitioners in this field, especially the beginners of this research discipline. © 2020 IEEE.

Due to the limited resources of IoT devices, massive redundant traffic features result in IoT-IDSs facing higher resource and time consumption. Therefore, this paper proposes a hybrid feature selection method RFI-BEPO to effectively select the least and useful features. Firstly, the gini index contribution value of each feature is calculated. The top 50% features with high contribution values are retained as initial important features. On this basis, a novel binary emperor penguin optimization algorithm (BEPO) is designed for select optimal features. BEPO algorithm utilizes S-shaped function and its variants to find effective solutions in the binary search space. The distance between other emperor penguins and the optimal penguin is recalculated by the idea of the cosine similarity. Then, random forest model is as the classifier to detect abnormal traffic. Finally, RFI-BEPO method is evaluated on latest ToN-IoT and N-BaIoT datasets. Compared with multiple feature selection methods, RFI-BEPO method outperforms the existing methods in feature number, and has great anomaly detection effect. © 2025 SPIE.
