Persistent transactional memory (PTM) exploits transactions to provide an easy crash-consistent interface for persistent memory (PM). However, because of the substantial reader-side overhead brought on by the low bandwidth and long persistence latency of PM, present PTM research cannot scale effectively. This paper proposes a highly scalable PTM system, DRPTM, which allows nearly non-overhead reads without lowering the isolation level. DRPTM decouples persistence latency from concurrency control and traces the read-only copy maintained in logs as a lightweight read set. The evaluation shows that DRPTM significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art PTM systems for various workloads and achieves near-linear scalability.

YOLOv5s is a classic deep learning target detection framework with balanced speed and performance in recognition, which is widely used in industrial defect inspections. YOLOv5s relies on the residual structure in the C3 module for feature extraction, but due to its simple structure and the small, fixed convolution kernel, it is difficult to accurately and completely extract target features when applied to the detection of defects with inconspicuous features and irregular shapes, which results in a decrease in recognition accuracy. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an improved YOLO architecture based on receptive field enhancement and redundant feature reuse. Firstly, the method designs a redundant feature reuse module (RFRM) to replace the residual structure in the C3 module for feature extraction. This module can deepen the network with a smaller cost and enhance the network’s ability to extract features. Furthermore, the feature reuse process allows the network to deepen while retaining detailed information, enabling the network to classify and localize more accurately. Secondly, a simplified convolutional block attention module (SCBAM) is designed and embedded into the neck of the detection network. This module directs the detection network to focus more on inconspicuous defect features and reduce interference from background noise in the feature map, thereby improving the accuracy of defect classification and localization. Finally, a receptive field enhancement module (RFEM) is designed and inserted between the neck and head of the detection network. This module adds only a small computational cost to expand the receptive field of the network, enabling it to further extract and comb irregular features from the neck in a comprehensive manner, making the features reaching the detection head more complete. Discrete chaotic systems based on memristors exhibit excellent dynamical properties and are more straightforward to implement in hardware, making them highly suitable for generating cryptographic keystreams. However, most existing memristor-based chaotic systems rely on a single memristor. This paper introduces a novel discrete chaotic system employing dual memristors, named the 3D memristive cubic map with dual discrete memristors (3D-MCM). The 3D-MCM system demonstrates richer and more intricate dynamical behaviors compared to its single-memristor counterparts, as verified through bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra, and complexity analyses. Notably, the system exhibits coexisting attractors, substantially enhancing its dynamical complexity. Hardware implementation of the 3D-MCM attractors confirms its feasibility for industrial applications. To illustrate the system's potential in encryption tasks, this study integrates the quaternary-based permutation and dynamic emanating diffusion (QPDED-IE) scheme for image encryption with the *** results demonstrate that the QPDED-IE scheme based on the 3D-MCM exhibits strong diffusion and confusion properties, effectively resisting cryptanalytic attacks. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a natural, safe, and effective therapeutic approach with widespread application worldwide. The unique diagnostic methods of TCM often require a comprehensive analysis of patient information, much of which is contained in clinical text. Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of natural language processing (NLP) techniques in TCM disease classification. Therefore, this paper focuses on the task of TCM syndrome differentiation, proposing a novel matching score calculation method and a new label attention calculation method to assist the model in focusing on the relationship between TCM syndrome and disease symptom. Specifically, we enhance the model’s attention to the uniqueness of the relationship between TCM syndrome and symptom by introducing a finer-grained token-level matching score. Simultaneously, we improve the model’s attention to the generality of the relationship between TCM syndrome and symptom through a more global label attention mechanism. Additionally, we observe a severe long-tail problem in the dataset. To alleviate this issue, we propose the use of focal loss to help the model pay more attention to challenging samples. Extensive experiments on the TCM-SD dataset indicate that our approach significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines 1 .

In the field of cybersecurity, analyzing malicious software or programs is crucial for preventing network attacks. Malicious code often exists in a stripped binary form to thwart analysis, presenting challenges for analysts. This study investigates inferring function names from stripped binary to aid security researchers in analyzing malicious code. We propose PTGFI, a Prompt-based Two-stage Generative framework for Function name Inference. The PTGFI framework transforms the task of inferring function names into a two-stage semantic generation problem. By capturing function descriptions of assembly functions and introducing prompt learning, effective inference of function names is achieved. In experiments, PTGFI outperforms the state-of-the-art model by 2.96 % in precision. Moreover, ablation studies demonstrate the effectiveness of advanced components within the PTGFI framework. We further validate the utility and reliability of function names generated by the PTGFI framework through case studies.

Predicting how pedestrians will move is a valuable and challenging task. It can be applied to various domains, such as crowd evacuation and autonomous driving. However, in practice, scene information and pedestrian interaction make it difficult to accurately predict pedestrian trajectories. Therefore, more effective processing of information affecting pedestrian trajectories is particularly important. Extraction of pedestrian motion features is insufficient in current research in this area. To address this problem, a neural network trajectory prediction method, PMC-CNN, is proposed. This method incorporates pedestrian motion features and stores the heterogeneous information required for prediction within a knowledge graph. Furthermore, it combines this information with the proposed IN-EX pedestrian motion model, resulting in an improvement in prediction accuracy. In addition, this research applies the prediction framework to a crowd evacuation scenario to improve the efficiency of crowd evacuation. This verifies the effectiveness and practicality of our proposed model.

In this paper, we propose a novel framework in consortium blockchains, where the consensus and storage can be decoupled. For consensus, we propose a simplified version of Sinc HotStuff, in which the block equivocation can be avoided. With the help of a distributed storage system employing an erasure code, the storage is asymptotically constant on the size of the total blocks, but independent on the number of consensus nodes, such that the storage of the blockchain is reduced significantly. In addition, the storage system with (N, k) maximum-distance separable (MDS) codes has the ability to handle N - k crashes or N- k/2 Byzantine errors such that the new framework is more flexible. © 2022 IEEE.

Alignment-free RGB-Thermal (RGB-T) salient object detection (SOD) aims to achieve robust performance in complex scenes by directly leveraging the complementary information from unaligned visible-thermal image pairs, without requiring manual alignment. However, the labor-intensive process of collecting and annotating image pairs limits the scale of existing benchmarks, hindering the advancement of alignment-free RGB-T SOD. In this paper, we construct a large-scale and high-diversity unaligned RGB-T SOD dataset named UVT20K, comprising 20,000 image pairs, 407 scenes, and 1256 object categories. All samples are collected from real-world scenarios with various challenges, such as low illumination, image clutter, complex salient objects, and so on. To support the exploration for further research, each sample in UVT20K is annotated with a comprehensive set of ground truths, including saliency masks, scribbles, boundaries, and challenge attributes. In addition, we propose a Progressive Correlation Network (PCNet), which models inter- and intra-modal correlations on the basis of explicit alignment to achieve accurate predictions in unaligned image pairs. To address the challenges posed by parametric and computationally intensive deep learning-based fire detection methods, hindering real-time detection solutions, we propose a lightweight fire detection algorithm named LWSCA-YOLOv5. Our method achieves strong detection performance with a significant reduction in FLOPs and Params. Firstly, we introduce a novel lightweight convolution module called SCAConvolution. This operation enables the embedding of object position information into the channel dimension during the feature fusion process. In comparison to standard convolution, SCAConvolution substantially reduces computational consumption while extracting richer features. Subsequently, we leverage this convolution unit to redesign the C3 module in YOLOv5, resulting in the proposed LWC3. To fully harness the potential of our method, we introduce the SPPAM module. Finally, we assemble the lightweight fire detection network using the aforementioned components, naming it LWSCA-YOLOv5. Experimental results demonstrate a 71% reduction in Params and a 63% reduction in FLOPs compared to the baseline while maintaining the same level of accuracy, validating the effectiveness of our method. © 2023 ACM.

Few-Shot Domain Adaptation for Charge Prediction on Unprofessional Descriptions

—Recent works considering professional legal-linguistic style (PLLS) texts have shown promising results on the charge prediction task. However, unprofessional users also show an increasing demand on such a prediction service. There is a clear domain discrepancy between PLLS texts and non-PLLS texts expressed by those laypersons, which degrades the current SOTA models’ performance on non-PLLS texts. A key challenge is the scarcity of non-PLLS data for most charge classes. This paper proposes a novel few-shot domain adaptation (FSDA) method named Disentangled Legal Content for Charge Prediction (DLCCP). Compared with existing FSDA works, which solely perform instance-level alignment without considering the negative impact of text style information existing in latent features, DLCCP (1) disentangles the content and style representations for better domain-invariant legal content learning with carefully designed optimization goals for content and style spaces and, (2) employs the constitutive elements knowledge of charges to extract and align element-level and instance-level content representations simultaneously. We contribute the first publicly available non-PLLS dataset named NCCP for developing layperson-friendly charge prediction models.
