Single hyperspectral image super-resolution aims to reconstruct a high-resolution hyperspectral image (HRHSI) from an observed low resolution hyperspectral image (LRHSI). Most current methods combine CNN and Transformer structures to directly extract features of all channels in LRHSI for image reconstruction, but they do not consider the interference of redundant information in adjacent bands, resulting in spectral and spatial distortions in the reconstruction results and an increase in model computational complexity. To address this issue, this paper proposes a spectral clustering-based pyramid super-resolution network (SCPSN) to progressively reconstruct HRHSI at different scales. In each image reconstruction layer, a clustering super-resolution block (CSRB) consisting of spectral clustering block (SCB), patch non local attention block (PNAB), and dynamic fusion block (DFB) is designed to achieve the reconstruction of detail features. Specifically, for the high correlation between adjacent spectral bands in LRHSI, a SCB is first constructed to achieve clustering of spectral channels and filtering of hyperchannels. This can reduce the interference of redundant spectral information and the computational complexity of the model. Then, by utilizing the non-local similarity of features within the channel, a patch non-local attention block (PNAB) is constructed to enhance the features of hyperchannels. Next, a dynamic fusion block (DFB) is designed to reconstruct the features of all channels in LRHSI by establishing correlations between enhanced hyperchannels and other channels. Finally, the reconstructed channels are upsampled and added to the corresponding channels to obtain the reconstructed HRHSI. Extensive experiments validate that the performance of SCPSN is superior to that of some other state-of-the-art (SOTA) HSSR methods in terms of visual effects and quantitative metrics. Heterogeneous Domain Adaptation via Correlative and Discriminative Feature Learning

Heterogeneous domain adaptation seeks to learn an effective classifier or regression model for unlabeled target samples by using the well-labeled source samples but residing in different feature spaces and lying different distributions. Most recent works have concentrated on learning domain-invariant feature representations to minimize the distribution divergence via target pseudo-labels. However, two critical issues need to be further explored: 1) new feature representations should be not only domain-invariant but also category-correlative and discriminative, and 2) alleviating the negative transfer caused by the incorrect pseudo-labeling target samples could boost the adaptation performance during the iterative learning process. To address these issues, in this paper, we put forward a novel heterogeneous domain adaptation method to learn category-correlative and discriminative representations, referred to as correlative and discriminative feature learning (CDFL). Specifically, CDFL aims to learn a feature space where class-specific feature correlations between the source and target domains are maximized, the divergences of marginal and conditional distribution between the source and target domains are minimized, and the distances of inter-class distribution are forced to be maximized to ensure the discriminative ability. Meanwhile, a selective pseudo-labeling procedure based on the correlation coefficient and classifier prediction is introduced to boost class-specific feature correlation and discriminative distribution alignment in an iteration way. Extensive experiments certify that CDFL outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms on five standard benchmarks. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

Multimodal relation extraction is a fundamental task of multimodal information extraction. Recent studies have shown promising results by integrating hierarchical visual features from local regions, like image patches, to the broader global regions that form the entire image. However, research to date has largely ignored the understanding of how hierarchical visual semantics are represented and the characteristics that can benefit relation extraction. To bridge this gap, we propose a novel two-stage hierarchical visual context fusion transformer incorporating the mixture of multimodal experts framework to effectively represent and integrate hierarchical visual features into textual semantic representations. In addition, we introduce the concept of hierarchical tracking maps to facilitate the understanding of the intrinsic mechanisms of image information processing involved in multimodal models. We thoroughly investigate the implications of hierarchical visual contexts through four dimensions: performance evaluation, the nature of auxiliary visual information, the patterns observed in the image encoding hierarchy, and the significance of various visual encoding levels. Empirical studies show that our approach achieves new state-of-the-art performance on the MNRE dataset. © 2024 ACM.

Adaptive design and implementation of automatic modulation recognition accelerator

Automatic modulation recognition-oriented Deep Neural Networks (ADNNs) have achieved higher recognition accuracy than traditional methods with less labor overhead. However, their high computation complexity usually far exceeds the computation capacity of communication devices built on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform. When solving the problem of insufficient resources, the complete operation of FPGA-based accelerator can be achieved by dividing the calculation into several parts and calculating them separately, but this will cause unaccepTable latency. In this backdrop, we develop a new ADNN model, named VT-CNN2+, to promote the recognition accuracy. Then, after stating the resources and latency problems for implementing VT-CNN2+ on the FPGA platform, an adaptive hardware accelerator is put forward. To implement the accelerator, Area folding is introduced to optimize resources consumption. Moreover, Literacy Optimization, Parallelism Optimization, Inter-layer Cascading, Temporary Cache and Data Loading Optimization are adopted to reduce latency. Afterwords, the two components in our accelerator are detailed, i.e., Once-designed module and Re-designed module. Finally, to evaluate the performance and adaptivity of our accelerator, a series of experiments are conducted on two different FPGA platforms, i.e., AX7350 and ZedBoard. Results show that our accelerator can successfully adapt to different FPGA platforms and it can remarkably reduce the processing latency. Moreover, our accelerator’s processing speed of 0.066249s per single data sample with much lower energy consumption is one order of magnitude faster than desktop-level Central Processing Units (CPUs), two orders of magnitude faster than embedded CPUs. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Person Re-Identification (ReID) is a crucial task in computer vision that aims to match persons captured from non-overlapping camera views. In this paper, to alleviate the impacts of background and occlusion, we propose to use instance segmentation and pose estimation methods to create masks for global feature extraction. Furthermore, we divide the pedestrian images into three regions according to pedestrian keypoints, trying to eliminate the alignment errors. This part-based matching strategy also helps to address the occlusion issue. Overall, we construct a deep learning network with three branches, including two global branches and a part-based branch. The two global branches extract global features using segmentation-based mask and the mask derived from pedestrian keypoint heatmaps, respectively. In the end, a weighted fusion strategy is used to combine the global scores and part-based scores for final classification. This network enables us to acquire robust global feature of pedestrians by excluding background and occlusion, and simultaneously address the alignment errors to some extent. Experimental results on these three widely used datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method: Specifically, it achieves 64.5% rank-1 accuracy and 54.3% mAP on Occluded-Duke, and 94.4% and 87.1% rank-1 accuracies on Market-1501 and DukeMTMC-reID, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Stack Overflow is a widely-used community Q&A website for programming-related queries. In such a platform, providing related questions as suggestions to the users can significantly enhance their search experience. Although there are many approaches based on deep learning that can automatically predict the relatedness between questions, those approaches are limited because the semantic and interaction features of the sentences may be lost. In this paper, we propose a novel method to predict the relatedness between questions based on semantic matching. We adopt the Interaction Feature Extractor to capture the interaction information and fuse it through a fusion mechanism to enhance the interaction between questions. Our experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance in terms of Precision, Recall, and F1-score evaluation metrics, outperforming the baseline approaches. Furthermore, we show that our model also performs well in other semantic matching tasks in software fields, indicating its generalization ability and robustness. © 2023 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate school. Patty: Pattern Series-Based Semantics Analysis for Agnostic Industrial Control Protocols

Reverse engineering of agnostic industrial control protocols (ICPs) based on traffic traces is significant for the security analysis of industrial control systems. Field semantics deduction is an essential step in protocol reverse engineering following the discovery of the message field. Most existing methods rely on knowledge-based analysis for specific fields of common protocols, which require too numerous assumptions and lack semantic knowledge about ICPs. In this paper, we propose a new concept, pattern series, and design the first classification framework for inferring the semantic types of unknown ICPs. Specifically, we first present the definition of pattern series and design the field pattern series generation algorithm for building training data, then develop a field semantics classification model to learn and apply semantic features from known protocols to predict semantic types in unknown protocols. Lastly, we implement a probability-maximizing selection algorithm to obtain optimal semantic types. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method through extensive experiments with five popular ICPs, including their mixed protocols. Evaluations show that our approach significantly outperforms baseline methods in field semantic recognition, achieving ≥90.8% F1-score. © 2005-2012 IEEE.
