A Model of Mass Customization for engineering Production System Development in Textile and Apparel Industries in Thailand

This paper presents a framework, aiming to develop the mass customization for textile and apparel industries in Thailand. The developed model as presented is the relationship of the connection pertaining to customers’ needs at industrial levels, most of which are Original Design Manufacturer (OEM), a type of textile and apparel business. The outstanding of OEM is the presentation of newly created designs to customers with a variety of products. Importantly, in order to gain such effective production management, an appropriate administrative system with high flexibility, efficient production (Small Lot Size), and punctual delivery is crucially required. In relation to the framework for mass customization development, it concerns three main related involvements: customers, OEM industries, and suppliers, all of which will be assessed so as to be promptly employed in such firms manufacturing products in accordance with the productive systems of mass customization *** conceptual from mass customization systems will facilitate the management in terms of the production designing in factories, aiming at clustering which is complex to the creation of platform from common parts, leading to the development of a variety of goods by the process of product family.

Poly(Ε-caprolactone) (PCL) films have been applied for vascular tissue engineering. However, few studies studied the effects of fabrication process of PCL film on vascular cell proliferation. In this study, we used different processing methods, incorporating stretching, to fabricate various PCL films. Thickness of films before and after stretch and proliferation ability of human fetal mesenchymal stem cells (hfMSCs) on these films were investigated. This paper consists in a novel transport protocol description for Delay-Tolerant Networks and Disruption Tolerant Networks (both DTN). This protocol was designed to offer a better information delivery rate in DTNs scenarios. Fountain codes techniques are used to achieve our needs. The performance results were tested taking into account the hosts buffer size, the TTL (Time To Live) of the messages and the amount of redundant information generated into the network. A better delivery rate and performance were achieved using the proposed protocol.

Sliding mode control (SMC) has been considered as a powerful method for disturbances rejection. On the other hand, we have presented an equivalent-input disturbance (EID) approach to reject disturbances. This paper takes a dual-stage feed drive as an example to compare these two methods. The example shows that, while the EID approach obtains almost the same disturbance rejection performance for matched disturbances as that of the SMC does, it can reject unmatched disturbances. This shows the superiority of the EID approach over SMC method. © 2011 IEEE.

We describe a "molecular" evolutionary algorithm that can be implemented in DNA computing in vitro to learn the recently-proposed hypernetwork model of cognitive memory. The molecular learning process is designed to make it possible to perform wet-lab experiments using DNA molecules and bio-lab tools. We present the bio-experimental protocols for selection, amplification and mutation operators for evolving hypernetworks. We analyze the convergence properties of the molecular evolutionary algorithms on simulated DNA computers. The performance of the algorithms is demonstrated on the task of simulating the cognitive process of learning a language model from a drama corpus to identify the style of an unknown drama. We also discuss other applications of the molecular evolutionary algorithms. In addition to their feasibility in DNA computing, which opens a new horizon of in vitro evolutionary computing, the molecular evolutionary algorithm provides unique properties that are distinguished from conventional evolutionary algorithms and makes a new addition to the arsenal of tools in evolutionary computation.

In this paper, we propose a method that could solve the problem of estimating the minimum number of robots to finish the given multi-objects task. The criterion of estimating the robots includes the time consumption of motion on the trajectory and the work on the multi-objects. Our proposed method builds the roadmap to compute the cost of motion between objects and then builds the network with the motion and work cost. To satisfy the specified efficiency, the optimization algorithm of network is used to compute the minimum number of robots which can finish the task. An implementation example is presented and possible further research directions are presented as well.

Soft and high magnetic moment Co37Fe63 films were electro-deposited with variable additives on Cu/Ti/Si substrates. The correlation between structure and magnetic properties has been investigated. TEM showed the crystal structure of the films to be BCC with a 〈111〉 texture, and a grain size in the range of 10-20 nm. Oxygen in the deposited films has been identified by EDS and EELS using HAADF STEM. SIMS analysis revealed the presence of hydrogen and oxygen in the deposited CoFe films. Electron microscopy results showed that the oxygen was mainly distributed along the grain boundaries in the CoFe film. In regions where oxygen was present in the films, the Fe content was enhanced relative to Co. The magnetic properties of the deposits have been measured by Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), quantifying the impact of incorporated oxygen in the film on the saturation magnetization and the coercivity.

This paper presents a fully complex-valued functional link network (CFLN). The CFLN is a single-layered neural network, which introduces nonlinearity in the input layer using nonlinear functions of the original input variables. In this study, we consider multivariate polynomials as the nonlinear functions. Unlike multilayer neural networks, the CFLN is free from local minima problem, and it offers very fast learning in parameters because of its linear structure. In the complex domain, polynomial based CFLN has an additional advantage of not requiring activation functions, which is a major concern in the complex-valued neural networks. However, it is important to select a smaller subset of polynomial terms (monomials) for faster and better performance, since the number of all possible monomials may be quite large. In this paper, we use the orthogonal least squares method in a constructive fashion (starting from lower degree to higher) for the selection of a parsimonious subset of monomials. Simulation results demonstrate that computing CFLN in purely complex domain is advantageous than in double-dimensional real domain, in terms of number of connection parameters, faster design, and possibly generalization performance. Moreover, our proposed CFLN compares favorably with several other multilayer networks in the complex domain.

In this paper, fusion of Common Spatial Pattern (CSP) analysis derived features and Time-Domain Parameters (TDP) is investigated for two-class motion imagery classification: left hand movement and right hand movement imagery. This fusion method is aiming at improving the performance of Brain-computer Interface (BCI) systems in translating human thoughts into command to control certain robots, e.g. rehabilitation robots. In the BCI system applied in this paper, a Human-Friendly Interactive Bear Robot is implemented, whose bear-like appearance and interactive actions can alleviate the frustration and anxiety on the part of the user in the experiment. Moreover, off-line experiments are conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of the fusion method using both well-known open-source data and data obtained by the BCI system mentioned before.

This paper presents a social interactive robot Nancy that has been developed in Social robotics Laboratory, National University of Singapore. Fundamentally different from factory robots, Nancy's design focuses on social interaction and social intelligent system. The design objectives and consideration are examined in the beginning, followed by the description of hardware and software architectures. Contrast to current existing social robots, Nancy has a graphical user interface (GUI), which acts as an additional channel for human-robot interaction. This GUI helps users to have a better understanding of Nancy's internal states and hence make users feel more comfortable during the interaction with Nancy. Visitors' interaction experience with Nancy is discussed together with Nancy's social skills.
