He led the team responsible for developing threatened species monitoring technology. Murray recently moved to MetService Ltd and is now working as a Systems Engineer in the area of automatic weather station and satellite imagery technology. School of Biological Sciences The University of Auckland Auckland New Zealand Weihong Ji(pictured) is a research officer in Institute of Natural Resources at Massey University. Her research field is vertebrate behavioral ecology focusing on social behavior mating systems and behavioral responses to management. She worked on brushtail possums (Trichosurur vulpecula) in New Zealand golden monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellanae) in China and badgers (Meles meles) in the United Kingdom. Her work now expands to mating systems of New Zealand geckos. Mick Cloutis Professor of Conservation Ecology at the University of Auckland New Zealand. He is a vertebrate ecologist and has worked extensively on the behavior of brushtail possums and the conservation biology of native New Zealand birds. Professor Clout is the founding Chair of the IUCN Invasive Species Specialist Group through which he is involved in a range of international initiatives to prevent eradicate and manage invasive species.

Chong received the B.E.(Hons.) degree with First Class Honors from the University of Adelaide South Australia in 1987 graduating top of his class and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in 1989 and 1991 respectively both from Princeton University where he held an IBM Fellowship. He joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University in 1991 where he was named a University Faculty Scholar in 1999 and promoted to Full Professor in 2001. Since August 2001 he has been a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Professor of Mathematics at Colorado State University. His current interests are in communication networks and optimization methods. He coauthored the best-selling book An Introduction to Optimization 2nd Edition Wiley-Interscience 2001. He received the NSF CAREER Award in 1995 and the ASEE Frederick Emmons Terman Award in 1998. He coauthored a paper that was awarded Best Paper in the journal Computer Networks 2003. Professor Chong is a Fellow of the IEEE. He was founding chairman of the IEEE Control Systems Society Technical Committee on Discrete Event Systems and until recently served as an IEEE Control Systems Society Distinguished Lecturer. He has been on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. He is currently on the editorial board of the journal Computer Networks. USGS compiles data set for national assessment of VOCs in ground water

He has worked for the USGS since 1976. He has a Ph.D. degree in hydrology an M.S. degree in geology and a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering. Kathleen M. Neitzert is a computer assistant with the USGS assisting the VOC National Synthesis Project (U.S. Geological Survey 111 Kansas SW Huron SD 57350) with data base activities for the NAWQA Program. She has been with the USGS since 1983 and has a B.A. degree in secondary education from South Dakota State University. Michael J. Moran is a doctoral student in geological engineering (hydrogeology) at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (U.S. Geological Survey 1608 Mt. View Rd. Rapid City SD 57702). He is working part-time at the USGS in Rapid City South Dakota on the assessment described in this article for the NAWQA VOC National Synthesis. John S.
