Enhancing Entity Relationship Extraction in Dialogue Texts Using Hypergraph and Heterogeneous Graph

Dialogue-based relation extraction(DialogRE) aims to predict relationships between two entities in dialogue. Current approaches to dialogue relationship extraction grapple with long-distance entity relationships in dialogue data as well as complex entity relationships, such as a single entity with multiple types of connections. To address these issues, this paper presents a novel approach for dialogue relationship extraction termed the hypergraphs and heterogeneous graphs model(HG2G). This model introduces a two-tiered structure, comprising dialogue hypergraphs and dialogue heterogeneous graphs, to address the shortcomings of existing methods. The dialogue hypergraph establishes connections between similar nodes using hyper-edges and utilizes hypergraph convolution to capture multi-level features. Simultaneously, the dialogue heterogeneous graph connects nodes and edges of different types, employing heterogeneous graph convolution to aggregate cross-sentence information. Ultimately, the integrated nodes from both graphs capture the semantic nuances inherent in dialogue. Experimental results on the DialogRE dataset demonstrate that the HG2G model outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.

Simulation Study: Trajectory Tracking Control Of Parafoil System Based On Deep Reinforcement Learning

The parafoil system is nonlinear and complex with a large time delay. This makes it challenging for traditional control methods to control the parafoil system effectively. However, the Markov property of reinforcement learning offers a new possibility for controlling the parafoil system. Therefore, this paper employs the deep reinforcement learning (DRL) method to train a neural network controller for controlling the parafoil system, based on a modified deterministic version of the distributional soft actor-critic with three refinements (DSAC-T) algorithm and it is named MC-DSAC-T. The controller of the parafoil system is denoted as a multilayer perceptron (MLP) and the objective function of the policy introduces cumulative discounted rewards of a single episode to improve the stability of the iterative update of the policy, a Monte Carlo (MC) thinking. In addition, wind disturbances are introduced during training to enhance the robustness of the neural network controller. First, a nine-degree-of-freedom (nine-DOF) dynamic model of the parafoil system is developed. Secondly, the network structure of the MC-DSAC-T algorithm and the process of updating the network using sampling data were introduced. Finally, the control effects of the neural network controller trained by the proposed method were compared with those of the proportion integration differentiation (PID) controller in a wind environment. While tracking 100 randomly selected trajectory segments, the results show that the neural network controller is superior to the PID controller in distance control accuracy, which proves that the neural network controller can control the parafoil system to perform the tracking task and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © The Author(’s).

RE-SEGNN:recurrent semantic evidence-aware graph neural network for temporal knowledge graph forecasting

Temporal knowledge graph(TKG) reasoning, has seen widespread use for modeling real-world events, particularly in extrapolation settings. Nevertheless, most previous studies are embedded models, which require both entity and relation embedding to make predictions, ignoring the semantic correlations among different entities and relations within the same timestamp. This can lead to random and nonsensical predictions when unseen entities or relations occur. Furthermore, many existing models exhibit limitations in handling highly correlated historical facts with extensive temporal depth. They often either overlook such facts or overly accentuate the relationships between recurring past occurrences and their current counterparts. Due to the dynamic nature of TKG, effectively capturing the evolving semantics between different timestamps can be *** address these shortcomings, we propose the recurrent semantic evidenceaware graph neural network(RE-SEGNN), a novel graph neural network that can learn the semantics of entities and relations simultaneously. For the former challenge, our model can predict a possible answer to missing quadruples based on semantics when facing unseen entities or relations. For the latter problem, based on an obvious established force, both the recency and frequency of semantic history tend to confer a higher reference value for the current. We use the Hawkes process to compute the semantic trend, which allows the semantics of recent facts to gain more attention than those of distant facts. Experimental results show that RE-SEGNN outperforms all SOTA models in entity prediction on 6 widely used datasets, and 5 datasets in relation prediction. Furthermore, the case study shows how our model can deal with unseen entities and relations.

CBIR: a novel identification approach for college students in need based on consumer behavior psychology theory

The accurate identification of students in need is crucial for governments and colleges to allocate resources more effectively and enhance social equity and educational fairness. Existing approaches to identifying students in need rely on manual operations that include manually extracting consumption behavior information, statistical consumption characteristics and principal component analysis. However, this issue may lead to low prediction accuracy and inefficiency in identifying students in need. We design a three-stage framework to accurately identify college students in need from the perspective of consumer behavior psychology. The consumption behavior information is first obtained from the student consumption records using the consumption behavior clustering approach. The consumption behavior matrix is then built by extracting consumption and spatiotemporal information in different periods. Finally, a novel consumption behavior identification ResNeSt (CBIR) model is proposed to identify college students in need accurately. The experimental results on real datasets show that the CBIR model has higher prediction accuracy than the baseline models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Fake Face Detection Based on Fusion of Spatial Texture and High-Frequency Noise

The rapid development of the Internet has led to the widespread dissemination of manipulated facial images, significantly impacting people's daily lives. With the continuous advancement of Deepfake technology, the generated counterfeit facial images have become increasingly challenging to distinguish. There is an urgent need for a more robust and convincing detection method. Current detection methods mainly operate in the spatial domain and transform the spatial domain into other domains for analysis. With the emergence of transformers, some researchers have also combined traditional convolutional networks with transformers for detection. This paper explores the artifacts left by Deepfakes in various domains and, based on this exploration, proposes a detection method that utilizes the steganalysis rich model to extract high-frequency noise to complement spatial features. We have designed two main modules to fully leverage the interaction between these two aspects based on traditional convolutional neural networks. The first is the multi-scale mixed feature attention module, which introduces artifacts from high-frequency noise into spatial textures, thereby enhancing the model's learning of spatial texture features. The second is the multi-scale channel attention module, which reduces the impact of background noise by weighting the features. Our proposed method was experimentally evaluated on mainstream datasets, and a significant amount of experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in detecting Deepfake forged faces, outperforming the majority of existing methods.

A survey on cross-user federated recommendation

Recommender systems are effective in mitigating information overload, yet the centralized storage of user data raises significant privacy concerns. Cross-user federated recommendation(CUFR) provides a promising distributed paradigm to address these concerns by enabling privacy-preserving recommendations directly on user devices. In this survey, we review and categorize current progress in CUFR, focusing on four key aspects: privacy, security, accuracy, and efficiency. Firstly,we conduct an in-depth privacy analysis, discuss various cases of privacy leakage, and then review recent methods for privacy protection. Secondly, we analyze security concerns and review recent methods for untargeted and targeted *** untargeted attack methods, we categorize them into data poisoning attack methods and parameter poisoning attack methods. For targeted attack methods, we categorize them into user-based methods and item-based methods. Thirdly,we provide an overview of the federated variants of some representative methods, and then review the recent methods for improving accuracy from two categories: data heterogeneity and high-order information. Fourthly, we review recent methods for improving training efficiency from two categories: client sampling and model compression. Finally, we conclude this survey and explore some potential future research topics in CUFR.

A data representation method using distance correlation

Association in-between features has been demonstrated to improve the representation ability of data. However, the original association data reconstruction method may face two issues: the dimension of reconstructed data is undoubtedly higher than that of original data, and adopted association measure method does not well balance effectiveness and efficiency. To address above two issues, this paper proposes a novel association-based representation improvement method, named as AssoRep. AssoRep first obtains the association between features via distance correlation method that has some advantages than Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Then an improved matrix is formed via stacking the association value of any two features. Next, an improved feature representation is obtained by aggregating the original feature with the enhancement matrix. Finally, the improved feature representation is mapped to a low-dimensional space via principal component analysis. The effectiveness of AssoRep is validated on 120 datasets and the fruits further prefect our previous work on the association data reconstruction.

Crack-DETR: Complex Pavement Crack Detection by Multifrequency Feature Extraction and Fusion

Automated detection of pavement cracks plays a crucial role in road maintenance and traffic safety. However, pavement crack detection under noisy conditions is challenging due to the complex expression forms of pavement cracks and the presence of multitype background noise. In this article, we propose Crack-DETR, an efficient pavement crack detection deep learning network, that can detect complex pavement cracks from complex background noise. In this network, we first propose a multifrequency feature extraction and fusion (MFEF) block to enhance pavement crack features and suppress background noise from both high-frequency and low-frequency perspectives in two stages: multifrequency feature extraction and multifrequency feature fusion. In the multifrequency feature extraction stage, we design a high-frequency attention mechanism to extract high-frequency features from high-level features. Then, we propose a low-frequency attention mechanism to capture low-frequency features of high-level features. In the multifrequency feature fusion stage, we fuse the high- and low-frequency features through intrafrequency feature fusion and cross-frequency feature fusion. Second, we propose an evaluating metric, diagonal intersection over union (DIoU), to enhance the loss function of Crack-DETR, improving the learning effectiveness of the model. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments on three real-world datasets with different scenarios, and the experimental results show that our method can improve the frames per second (FPS) by about 33.4% and mAP@50 by about 6.78% on average compared with baseline model in the YN dataset. Consequently, Crack-DETR achieves higher accuracy while reducing computational complexity, paving the way for the development of sensor-based real-time pavement crack detection. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Non-Reed-Solomon Type Cyclic MDS Codes

As cyclic codes and maximum distance separable (MDS) codes, cyclic MDS codes have very nice structures and properties, which have been intensively investigated in literature due to their theoretical interest and practical importance. Particularly, abundant cyclic MDS codes have been determined and constructed for many parameters and most of them were proved to be equivalent to generalized Reed-Solomon (GRS) codes. Hence it is a challenging task to construct non-Reed-Solomon type cyclic MDS codes. In this work, we obtain many new cyclic MDS codes for certain parameters by determining the solutions of the system of polynomial equations. Moreover, by determining the dimension of the Schur square of an MDS code, we can easily show that all of our constructed codes are not equivalent to GRS codes. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Graphene encapsulation has been shown to be an effective technique for improving the corrosion resistance of non-noble metal catalysts for the acidic water *** key challenge lies in enhancing the electrocatalytic activity of graphene-encapsulated metals while maintaining their durability in acidic ***,an electron-transfer-tuning strategy is investigated at the graphene/NiMo interface,aiming to improve the hydrogen evolution reaction（HER） performance of graphene-encapsulated NiMo *** doping of Ti,a low electronegativity element,into NiMo substrate was confirmed to increase electron transfer from the metal core toward the *** electron-rich state on graphene facilitates the adsorption of positively charged protons on graphene,thereby enabling a Pt/C-comparable performance in 0.5 M H2SO4,with only a 3.8% degradation in performance over a 120-h continuous *** proton exchange membrane（PEM） water electrolyzer assembled by the N-doped grapheneencapsulated Ti-doped NiMo exhibits a smaller cell voltage to achieve a current density of 2.0 A cm-2,in comparison to the Pt/C based *** study proposes a novel electron-transfer-tuning strategy to improve the HER activity of graphene-encapsulated non-noble metal catalysts without sacrificing durability in acidic electrolytes.
