Previous studies have shown that residential energy consumption prediction accuracy can be improved when households energy data are fused with residents' socioeconomic information. In this article we propose an architecture for the prediction of residential energy consumption using past energy consumption from other/neighboring households in combination with socioeconomic information of the corresponding residents. The architecture is based on a Long Short Term Memory model and was evaluated using a large-scale dataset monitoring households of London. The proposed approach significantly improves the accuracy of the energy consumption predictor reducing the mean absolute error up to 25.2% with prediction error rate equal to 5.4%. © 2021 European Signal Processing Conference, EUSIPCO. This article investigates the condition of power in the power system network. High voltage profiles and elevated harmonics are the primary concerns associated with conventional power system networks. Total harmonic distortion is the metric used to quantify harmonics. The IEEE 14 bus system has been selected as the standard power system network. The IEEE 14 bus system has experienced unbalanced operation as a consequence of the 10% capacity increase on all buses. STATCOM was constructed to resolve these concerns, and its switching was managed by a fuzzy logic controller (FLC). In comparison to STATCOM without FLC, the voltage profile and THD (%) have been substantially enhanced when using the STATCOM-based FLC. © 2024 IEEE.

Although they help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, electric vehicles (EVs), a fundamental component of smart mobility in applications for smart cities, are becoming more and more popular. One of the main challenges, meanwhile, is the strain that a large-scale EV deployment puts on the electrical grid's infrastructure. Electric vehicles are the most significant part of transportation. An application for mobility in smart cities is built on electric automobiles. The lack of structures for charging electric vehicles is the biggest obstacle to their acceptance to solve the issue of EV charging time and usage. We are using Ml algorithms to anticipate charge analysis to solve the problem, which is advantageous for drivers. It gives comprehensive details about the energy use of an electric car and illustrates how long it takes for the battery to charge completely. Predictive analytics uses machine learning (ML) algorithms because they can be trained on even larger data sets and, with little deployment adjustments, can conduct deeper analysis on many factors.

With the rapid development of information technology and the widespread popularity of mobile devices and e-comm.rce trading platforms, the number and scale of comm.dity images and corresponding description text and other multimedia data are growing rapidly, and the demand for cross-modal retrieval of comm.dity images is also increasing. Cross-mode hash method has been widely studied and applied. Based on the matrix three-factor decomposition hash cross mode retrieval method, the problem of mapping hash code with different modes is solved. In the cross-modal retrieval process, in order to study and analyze different similarity measurement methods, when searching for product image cross-modalities, in order to analyze the retrieval results of different similarity measurement methods, the potential characteristics of different images are The effect of the image is analyzed and the performance of cross-mode retrieval under the matrix three-factor decomposition hash framework is compared. The research results show the results of cross-modal retrieval of comm.dity images with different similarity measurement methods and different image underlying features. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper proposes a novel technique of an Autonomous Drone landing on top of a moving Naval Vessel Base using Vision-Based Robot Control. To achieve an effective landing a camera is fixed under the drone which captures the images and detects the movement of the landing base. The landing base on top of the vessel is specially designed with a nested tag which is scanned by the fixed camera on the drone from a high altitude. This nested tag is a fiducial marker that is used by the imaging system of the drone as a point of reference in the Naval Vessel Base for precise landing. The controller is designed in the image coordinate frame captured by the imaging system on the drone with the help of the Jacobian Matrix. Whether the vessel remains stationary or moving, it always trembles, especially, when a vessel experiences bad weather at sea, it will be quite challenging for the drone to land on the trembling Naval Vessel Base. These unexpected movements cause the landing tag to disorient from the horizontal view of the captured frames, which makes it difficult to obtain the expected mid-point of the tag. To overcome this complication the translational and rotational motions of the drone are decoupled from the camera using the Virtual Camera Method where the mid-point of the tag is set as the feature point which helps to obtain the expected position during the horizontal plane disorientation of the tag image captured by the camera from the drone. Additionally, Kalman Filter is employed in the imaging system to reduce the observation noise so that precise estimation of the feature point can be achieved.

Roadside unit’s multi-objective deployment in VANET using optimization methods

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) has become a focus of attention and an attraction for researchers in the field of road safety. Plans were made to use these units in order to cut costs and keep performance at a high level. The main goal of this paper was to reduce traffic jams and car accidents by placing roadside units at intersections and road ends on the chosen map. when Roadside units are installed in the proper locations, they optimally inform drivers about real-time traffic congestion, allowing them to avoid roads that may cause them to become stuck in traffic. Additionally, they alert drivers when an accident occurs nearby, allowing them to take the necessary precautions to avoid being involved in an accident themselves. We proposed an improved version of the greedy overlap-based algorithms. The algorithm determines the candidate locations for installing the units, as they are initially installed at intersections and road ends, and works to determine the best locations among the candidates. And it works to solve the problem of highways. The proposed algorithm proved to be more efficient than both approaches separately. Where the number of installed RSUs has decreased by 39.5% without compromising performance.

computer services provided by the cloud and edge may improve performance for mobile devices. Although the cloud is capable of handling large processing demands, the edge's local computing power may help reduce the process' delay. Their cooperation is crucial to edge-cloud computational business models as it has the potential to improve guarantee QoS utilization. This paper proposes an efficient solution that enables computing resources to be exchanged between the cloud and edge in the form of buyback and wholesale. We outline the difficulties in controlling computing resources for the cloud in order to determine wholesale price, the distribution of local resources, and buyback procedures for the process of sharing computer ***, we tackle these issues from two angles:(i)maximizing societal welfare and(ii)maximizing profit for *** have proposed an ideal and shown the concavity welfare in order to optimize. Since it is challenging to directly show the convexity of the fundamental problem, we first illustrated the attention to the wholesale price for ii). After that, we created the best possible pricing plan and controlled cloud computing resources to maximize their profitability. Numerical evaluations suggest that although maximizing societal welfare may maximize total profit, optimal pricing may maximize individual gains.

Microalgae (MA) are critical elements of the maritime ecosystem and play an essential role in ecological equilibrium. Furthermore, MAs are quite important financially. Nevertheless, MAs are too tiny, and just one droplet of seawater comprises a diverse range of MA types. Tracking and recognizing shifts in the types of MA is a hard endeavor. Considering the current challenges that the innovation faces, it is expected that the employment of MA fixed CO2 techniques in certain areas would result in a more optimal MA carbon sequestration procedure in the next years. Moreover, it provides a solid foundation and an advantageous structure for attaining environmentally friendly, low-carbon, and effective power usage, as well as completely executing sustainable growth and gradually moving toward the carbon maximum and carbon-neutral status.

Numerous advanced neural network topologies have been created in the quickly changing field of deep learning to tackle challenging real-world problems. In recent years, the fourth industrial revolution has drawn interest from all across the world. Many concepts emerged from this new revolution, one of which being predictive maintenance. Predictive maintenance can be achieved for industrial machines through implementation of machine learning techniques to monitor real-time operational data. It can analyze sensor data for early prediction of equipment failures and to reduce downtime and optimizes scheduled maintenance. The purpose of this investigation is to look into developments in academic failure prediction. Predicting failures involves taking into account ideas such as design support systems and predictive maintenance decision support systems. The research gap is identified by analyzing the existing literature studies by exploring optimization strategies through integration of predictive maintenance in industrial environment in smart factories.
