This paper investigates the idea of low-power wireless sensors for far-field charging; in particular, it addresses situations in which sensor location cannot be accurately detected and battery replacement is not an option. Low-power indirect wireless transmission is suitable for sensors with low duty cycles, a desired compact sensor size, and an expected radio-frequency energy consumption of 20– 200 W/cm2. A low-power CPU controls all of the sensor platform's components, including the transmission devices and readers. Electromagnetic radiation at the GHz frequency that the mast's antenna receives powers the platform. After receiving the electrical signal, the rectifier circuits employ an effective power management circuit to charge a storage device. Codesigning the power source circuit and RF powering circuits is necessary for optimal performance at lower received power density levels. Integrated antenna transformers are used in the 2.4 GHz business, mathematical, and medical bands as well as the 1.96 GHz comm.rcial band in the hybrid and massive versions with power-management circuits. The results for both types of versions are shown.

Previous studies have shown that residential energy consumption prediction accuracy can be improved when households energy data are fused with residents' socioeconomic information. In this article we propose an architecture for the prediction of residential energy consumption using past energy consumption from other/neighboring households in combination with socioeconomic information of the corresponding residents. The architecture is based on a Long Short Term Memory model and was evaluated using a large-scale dataset monitoring households of London. The proposed approach significantly improves the accuracy of the energy consumption predictor reducing the mean absolute error up to 25.2% with prediction error rate equal to 5.4%.

Wireless sensor networks are developing quickly, which has several benefits and is advancing this sector of technology. As a result, wireless sensor network applications have grown dramatically over time. With the goal of promoting a better knowledge of this developing topic and emphasizing new applications, this article attempts to provide readers with a current overview of the most comm.n and conventional uses of wireless sensor *** main application groups for mobile networked sensors are determined in order to accomplish this aim, and sample examples are investigated within each category. A thorough analysis of their unique qualities is given, as well as an extensive list of benefits and drawbacks. Each primary category's subcategories are also taken into account, and their distinct qualities are covered in detail. An insightful assessment of exemplary cases in each subcategory clarifies their benefits and drawbacks in more *** next section explores in detail the particular characteristics belonging to each group and division. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a brain disease that makes it hard to do things over and over, connect with others, and talk. Early identification is very important, even if biology is the main reason. ML seems like a hopeful way to identify the condition more quickly and cheaply. This study uses different machine learning methods to find important ASD traits in order to make the testing process better and more automated. Due to the fast development of artificial intelligence, it is now possible to use smart methods to do early, large-scale, and pointless screening and detection of autism. In the future, researchers should work on creating an intelligent medical screening and detection system for autism patients, as well as screening tools and a patient recognition model that is smart and uses multiple types of data.

Knowledge distillation (KD) has enabled remarkable progress in model compression and knowledge transfer. However, KD requires a large volume of original data or their representation statistics that are not usually available in practice. Data-free KD has recently been proposed to resolve this problem, wherein teacher and student models are fed by a synthetic sample generator trained from the teacher. Nonetheless, existing data-free KD methods rely on fine-tuning of weights to balance multiple losses, and ignore the diversity of generated samples, resulting in limited accuracy and robustness. To overcome this challenge, we propose robustness and diversity seeking data-free KD (RDSKD) in this paper. The generator loss function is crafted to produce samples with high authenticity, class diversity, and inter-sample diversity. Without real data, the objectives of seeking high sample authenticity and class diversity often conflict with each other, causing frequent loss fluctuations. We mitigate this by exponentially penalizing loss increments. With MNIST, CIFAR-10, and SVHN datasets, our experiments show that RDSKD achieves higher accuracy with more robustness over different hyperparameter settings, compared to other data-free KD methods such as DAFL, MSKD, ZSKD, and DeepInversion.

A parallel distributed algorithm for the power SVD method

In this work, we study how to implement a distributed algorithm for the power method in a parallel manner. As the existing distributed power method is usually sequentially updating the eigenvectors, it exhibits two obvious disadvantages: 1) when it calculates the hth eigenvector, it needs to wait for the results of previous (h - 1) eigenvectors, which causes a delay in acquiring all the eigenvalues;2) when calculating each eigenvector, it needs a certain cost of information exchange within the neighboring nodes for every power iteration, which could be unbearable when the number of eigenvectors or the number of nodes is large. This motivates us to propose a parallel distributed power method, which simultaneously calculates all the eigenvectors at each power iteration to ensure that more information could be exchanged in one shaking-hand of comm.nication. We are particularly interested in the distributed power method for both an eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) and a singular value decomposition (SVD), wherein the distributed process is proceed based on a gossip algorithm. It can be shown that, under the same condition, the comm.nication cost of the gossip-based parallel method is only 1/H times of that for the sequential counterpart, where H is the number of eigenvectors we want to compute, while the convergence time and error performance of the proposed parallel method are both comparable to those of its sequential counterpart. © 2021, CC BY.

This article investigates the condition of power in the power system network. High voltage profiles and elevated harmonics are the primary concerns associated with conventional power system networks. Total harmonic distortion is the metric used to quantify harmonics. The IEEE 14 bus system has been selected as the standard power system network. The IEEE 14 bus system has experienced unbalanced operation as a consequence of the 10% capacity increase on all buses. STATCOM was constructed to resolve these concerns, and its switching was managed by a fuzzy logic controller (FLC). In comparison to STATCOM without FLC, the voltage profile and THD (%) have been substantially enhanced when using the STATCOM-based FLC.

The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET), combined with the distribution of roadside units (RSUs), play a significant role in reducing accidents and traffic jams by sending warning and emergency messages to drivers in real-time. However, comm.nication is not always available owing to the lack of RSUs. Therefore, in this paper, we have proposed a new strategy for the deployment of the least possible number of RSUs by developing a support protocol in case of loss of comm.nication that relies on smartphones until the connection returns. The simulation results show that the proposed distribution method clearly reduces the number of RSUs required (compared to existing methods), and contributes towards increased coverage, reduced costs, and less missing data.

5G and beyond comm.nication networks require satisfying very low latency standards, high reliability, high-speed user connectivity, more security, improved capacity and better service demands. Augmenting such a wide range of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) needs a smart, intelligent and programmable solution for TSPs (Telecomm.nication Service Providers). Resource availability and quality sustainability are challenging parameters in a heterogeneous 5G environment. Programmable Dynamic Network Slicing (PDNS) is a key technology enabling parameter that can allow multiple tenants to bring their versatile applications simultaneously over shared physical infrastructure. Latest emerging technologies like virtualized Software-Defined Networks (vSDN) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) play a pivotal supporting role in solving the above-mentioned constraints. Using the PDNS framework, we have proposed a novel slice backup algorithm leveraging Deep Learning (DL) neural network to orchestrate network latency and load efficiently. Our model has been trained using the available KPIs and incoming traffic is analyzed. The proposed solution performs stable load balancing between shared slices even if certain extreme conditions (slice unavailability) through intelligent resource allocation. The framework withstands service outage and always select the most suitable slice as a backup. Our results show latency-aware resource distribution for better network stability.

Named Data Networking (NDN) uses the content name to enable content sharing in a network using Interest and Data messages. In essence, NDN supports comm.nication through multiple interfaces, therefore, it is imperative to think of the interface that better meets the comm.nication requirements of the application. The current interface ranking is based on single static metric such as minimum number of hops, maximum satisfaction rate, or minimum network delay. However, this ranking may adversely affect the network performance. To fill the gap, in this paper, we propose a new multi-metric robust interface ranking scheme that combines multiple metrics with different objective functions. Furthermore, we also introduce different forwarding modes to handle the forwarding decision according to the available ranked interfaces. Extensive simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed scheme selects the best and suitable forwarding interface to deliver content. © 2020 IEEE.
