In this paper, two dimensional photonic crystal based Add Drop filter is designed for DWDM applications. The existing work concentrate in Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) and few filter design with DWDM with non-uniform channel spacing, and low quality factor. . The proposed Add Drop Filter (ADF) enhances the quality factor using Rounded Square Ring Resonator (RSRR) for ensuring efficient bandwidth in supporting WDM systems. The design consists of bus waveguide, drop waveguide and RSRR with inner quasi-square ring in the square lattice while dielectric constant of the Si rod is 11.68 which are hosted in the air. The line defect was created by removing 4 rods (Quasi ring) in the center of the inner square ring. The line defects in the cavity help to reduce the radiation field components surrounded by the resonator. The proposed design drops the unique wavelength 1636.2 nm from a spectrum. The performance parameters of ADF are investigated using 2D Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) algorithm. The proposed ADF drops the narrow bandwidth of 0.7 nm, high quality factor of 2337, dropping efficiency (ON State) of 100 %, which is highly sufficient to support WDM systems for future Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC). Further, the impact of functional parameters such as transmission efficiency, quality factor, bandwidth are investigated by varying the structural parameters, namely, adjacent rod radius, scatterer rod radius, coupling rod radius, lattice constant, inner rod radius and rod radius. In order to uphold the concept of high-quality service development and improve the service quality of hotel industry in Heilongjiang Province, on the basis of customer satisfaction theory and combined with the development status of hotel industry in Heilongjiang Province, this paper uses keyword extraction algorithm, AHP analytic hierarchy process and emotional analysis technology to extract 12000 Hotel comm.ntary data on OTA platform from equipment and facilities, services, transportation location, catering, price and health care. Six levels and 20 indicators are used to construct the evaluation model of hotel customer satisfaction in Heilongjiang Province. It is found that the factors that have significant impact on high-star hotels are relatively not obvious. The analysis results show that the overall customer satisfaction of hotels in Heilongjiang Province is relatively high, but there are still some improvements. For high-star hotels, we should pay more attention to equipment, facilities and service factors. Middle and low star hotels should pay attention to traffic location and price factors. Finally, according to the conclusion of the model and local characteristics, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed. © 2019 IEEE.

Robustness and diversity seeking data-free knowledge distillation

Knowledge distillation (KD) has enabled remarkable progress in model compression and knowledge transfer. However, KD requires a large volume of original data or their representation statistics that are not usually available in practice. Data-free KD has recently been proposed to resolve this problem, wherein teacher and student models are fed by a synthetic sample generator trained from the teacher. Nonetheless, existing data-free KD methods rely on fine-tuning of weights to balance multiple losses, and ignore the diversity of generated samples, resulting in limited accuracy and robustness. To overcome this challenge, we propose robustness and diversity seeking data-free KD (RDSKD) in this paper. The generator loss function is crafted to produce samples with high authenticity, class diversity, and inter-sample diversity. Without real data, the objectives of seeking high sample authenticity and class diversity often conflict with each other, causing frequent loss fluctuations. We mitigate this by exponentially penalizing loss increments. With MNIST, CIFAR-10, and SVHN datasets, our experiments show that RDSKD achieves higher accuracy with more robustness over different hyperparameter settings, compared to other data-free KD methods such as DAFL, MSKD, ZSKD, and DeepInversion. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can be utilized as aerial base stations to provide comm.nication service for remote mobile users due to their high mobility and flexible deployment. However, the line-of-sight (LoS) wireless links are vulnerable to be intercepted by the eavesdropper (Eve), which presents a major challenge for UAV-aided comm.nications. In this paper, we propose a latency-minimized transmission scheme for satisfying legitimate users' (LUs') content requests securely against Eve. By leveraging physical-layer security (PLS) techniques, we formulate a transmission latency minimization problem by jointly optimizing the UAV trajectory and user association. The resulting problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear program (MINLP), which is known to be NP hard. Furthermore, the dimension of optimization variables is indeterminate, which again makes our problem very challenging. To efficiently address this, we utilize bisection to search for the minimum transmission delay and introduce a variational penalty method to address the associated subproblem via an inexact block coordinate descent approach. Moreover, we present a characterization for the optimal solution. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed design.

Joint long-term cache allocation and short-term content delivery in green cloud small cell networks

Recent years have witnessed an exponential growth of mobile data traffic, which may lead to a serious traffic burn on the wireless networks and considerable power consumption. Network densification and edge caching are effective approaches to addressing these challenges. In this study, we investigate joint long-term cache allocation and short-term content delivery in cloud small cell networks (C-SCNs), where multiple smallcell BSs (SBSs) are connected to the central processor via fronthaul and can store popular contents so as to reduce the duplicated transmissions in networks. Accordingly, a long-term power minimization problem is formulated by jointly optimizing multicast beamforming, BS clustering, and cache allocation under quality of service (QoS) and storage constraints. The resultant mixed timescale design problem is an anticausal problem because the optimal cache allocation depends on the future file requests. To handle it, a two-stage optimization scheme is proposed by utilizing historical knowledge of users' requests and channel state information. Specifically, the online content delivery design is tackled with a penalty-based approach, and the periodic cache updating is optimized with a distributed alternating method. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms conventional schemes and performs extremely close to a genie-aided lower bound in the low caching region. An optical millimeter-wave (mm-wave) generation system is designed to be incorporated with radio over fibre (RoF) system for 5G application. The design employs the dual-sideband optical carrier suppression (DSB-OCS) technique with a dual-electrode Mach-Zehnder modulator (DE-MZM). A mm-wave of 40 GHz is generated with the intention to be used as a wireless carrier for the distribution of 1.25 Gbps data via direct modulation (DM) over a 20 km RoF system. The result shows that the system has a phase noise of -90 dBc at 1kHz frequency offset and achieves bit error rate (BER) of 10 -9 with modulation index, m above a figure of 0.5.

We study a class of distributed optimization problems for multiple shared resource allocation in Internet-connected devices. We propose a derandomized version of an existing stochastic additive-increase and multiplicative-decrease (AIMD) algorithm. The proposed solution uses one bit feedback signal for each resource between the system and the Internet-connected devices and does not require inter-device comm.nication. Additionally, the Internet-connected devices do not compromise their privacy and the solution does not dependent on the number of participating devices. In the system, each Internet-connected device has private cost functions which are strictly convex, twice continuously differentiable and increasing. We show empirically that the long-term average allocations of multiple shared resources converge to optimal allocations and the system achieves minimum social cost. Furthermore, we show that the proposed derandomized AIMD algorithm converges faster than the stochastic AIMD algorithm and both the approaches provide approximately same solutions. In this paper, Power gating/ Multithreshold technique for low power circuit design is summarized and compared. Few important and vital parameters such as sizing of sleep transistor, mode transition energy, reduction of noise due to ground bounce, area, delay and noise margin are compared for different techniques. In charge recycling technique upto 43% of mode transition energy is saved and an average of 8.25%, 33.1% of reduction in positive and negative peak ground bounce is obtained respectively. Bin-Packaging technique for clustering gives more leakage saving (84%) with respect to cell-partitioning technique. Considering overall response, Dynamic forward body bias triode MTCMOS technique (DFBBL) is found to be the best for sequential circuit (32-bit shift register) and for combinational circuit (32-bit Brent kung adder), triple phase technique gives the best response. Digital triple phase technique improves the overall electrical quality by 9.15 times and overall tolerance to parameter variations by 183.1 times as compared to other slew rate modulation techniques. DFBBL technique gives ground bounce reduction upto 90% and it also reduces the active power consumption about 47.3%. The data stability of sequential circuits is improved by 16.92%. © 2016 IEEE.

Named data networking (NDN) paradigm solves various issues of current TCP/IP based Internet and considers as a good candidate for future Internet architecture. It has a simple comm.nication mechanism based on named contents instead of their physical locations. In NDN-based mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), the participating nodes have limited resources. Interest message flooding is a key research issue in this area. Due to Interest message flooding, the participant nodes frequently take part in the forwarding process and die earlier because of limited remaining energy. In this study, by leverages the benefits of NDN paradigm, we have proposed a new scheme, named robust and efficient multipath Interest forwarding (REMIF) for NDN-based MANETs. Performance of the proposed REMIF scheme is investigated by using ndnSIM. The results show that proposed scheme performs better in terms of content download time and the total number of Interest messages injected in the network. © 2016 IEEE.
