This paper uses the Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov lemma to develop new stability tests for differential linear repetitive processes. The control systems theory for these processes have a number of applications areas and the new results in this paper also extend to the design of control laws. In comparison to currently available alternatives, these new tests offer the potential of reduced conservativeness by allowing the use of a Lyapunov matrix with piecewise constant entries as opposed to current algorithms where the Lyapunov matrix has constant entries. For control law design, linear matrix inequality formulations are developed that also extend to the practically relevant case where frequency attenuation is not enforced over the complete spectrum.

The prediction of tunnel boring machine (TBM) penetration rate is helpful to plan construction time and to control cost. This paper studies on modeling the penetration rate and the rock mass parameters via least square support vector machine (LS-SVM). These rock properties include uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), Brazilian tensile strength (BTS), peak slope index (PSI), distance between planes of weakness (DPW) and the alpha angle. The correlation between the rock parameters and the measured rate of penetration (ROP) is first investigated via LS-SVM. Then the necessity of normalizing the rock parameters is discussed. Finally, comparisons between the LS-SVM and other methods are presented to demonstrate the applicability of LS-SVM for predicting ROP.

Current-transfer phase-control breaking is one method of paralleled breaking. This method can make up for shortcoming of sole chamber with high rated current and high rated short-current breaking current at the same time. In addition to breaker stationary open time and computing speed of controller, the key influence factor is that controller needs accurately to compute the current-transfer time and current zero appearing moment. It will influence the best triggering moment determination of breaker driving actuator. This paper constructs its mathematical model of current transfer process. By the theory modeling with Matlab, this paper analyzes the influencing factors to current-transfer time and current zero appearing moment. From simulation procedure and result, dc component of short-circuit current and short-circuit current phase angle of contact separating moment of first open chamber, impedance parameter of paralleled circuit and arc voltage of first open chamber after contact separating both influence the current process and current zero. After breaker structure and chamber parameters are fixed, most important matter is that short-circuit current phase angle of contact separating moment of first open chamber needs to be determined accurately.

A kind of new environment representation and object localization scheme is proposed in the paper aiming to accomplish the task of object operation more efficiently in intelligent space. First, a distributed environment represen- tation method is put forward to reduce storage burden and improve the system's stability. The layered topological maps are separately stored in different landmarks attached to the key positions of intelligent space, so that the robot can search the landmarks on which the map information can be read from the QR code, and then the environment map can be built autonomously. Map building is an important prerequisite for object search. An object search scheme based on RFID and vision technology is proposed. The RFID tags are attached to the target objects and reference objects in the indoor environ- ment. A fixed RFID system is built to monitor the rough position (room and local area) of target and a mobile RFID system is constructed to detect the targets which are not in the covering range of the fixed system. The existing area of target is determined by the time sequence of reference tags and target tags, and the accurate position is obtained by onboard vision system at a short distance. The experiments demonstrate that the distributed environment representation proposed in the paper can fully meet the requirements of object localization, and the positioning scheme has high search efficiency, high localization accuracy and precision, and a strong anti-interference ability in the complex indoor environment.

Applying multiple redundant and diverse communication channels is an established method to achieve an improved overall communication channel. When applied for packet-based data transmission over channels with strongly nondeterministic behaviour due to environmental influence, such as Wireless Communications, timing performance can be greatly improved by this approach. The central element in such a system is the so called “Combiner” on the receiving side. In this work, a new specific type named “Timing Combiner” is described. The Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) according to IEC 62439-3 realizes such a Timing Combiner on the Ethernet level. In this work, an OPNET simulation model is created and analysed for its performance characteristics. Also a quantitative analysis of the effect of different interference models in an industrial environment is presented.

The paper presents a linear approach for formation control of multiple autonomous agents in d-dimensional space. The generalized notion of graph Laplacian, associated to a graph with possibly negative weights on the edges, is introduced aiming to solve the formation problem of controlling a network of point agents to form a given pattern (including rotation, translation, and scaling). By assuming the number of agents is larger than d + 1, we derive that a linear distributed control law exists for this purpose if and only if certain algebraic conditions hold (or equivalently, the graph is globally rigid). Next, it is shown that the generalized graph Laplacian used to stabilize the formations can be obtained by solving a convex optimization problem. Further results are also provided to reveal the conditions under which the attained formations are congruent to or just translations of the desired one.

This paper investigates variation of infinite horizon (IH) performance of Model Predictive control (MPC) without constraints as the optimization horizon changes. By exploring properties of the Difference Riccati Equations (DRE), an upper bound and a lower bound of the ratio between variation of IH performance of MPC and finite horizon (FH) optimal cost are obtained. The result shows the dynamic behavior of IH performance of closed-loop MPC systems as the optimization horizon varies.

Density-based algorithm for discovering clusters in large spatial databases with noise(DBSCAN) is a classic kind of density-based spatial clustering algorithm and is widely applied in several aspects due to good performance in capturing arbitrary shapes and detecting outliers. However, in practice, datasets are always too massive to fit the serial DBSCAN. And a new parallel algorithm-Parallel DBSCAN(PDBSCAN) was proposed to solve the problem which DBSCAN faced. The proposed parallel algorithm bases on MapReduce mechanism. The usage of parallel mechanism in the algorithm focuses on region query and candidate queue processing which needed substantive computation resources. As a result, PDBSCAN is scalable for large-scale dataset clustering and is extremely suitable for applications in E-Commence, especially for recommendation.
