As one of the mainstream approaches in system identification, subspace identification methods (SIMs) are known for their simple parameterization for MIMO systems and robust numerical properties. However, a comprehensive statistical analysis of SIMs remains an open problem. Amid renewed focus on identifying state-space models in the non-asymptotic regime, this work presents a finite sample analysis for a large class of open-loop SIMs. It establishes high-probability upper bounds for system matrices obtained via SIMs, and reveals that convergence rates for estimating Markov parameters and system matrices are O(1/√N) up to logarithmic terms, in line with classical asymptotic results. Following the key steps of SIMs, we arrive at the above results by a three-step procedure. In Step 1, we begin with a parsimonious SIM (PARSIM) that uses least-squares regression to estimate multiple high-order ARX models in parallel. Leveraging a recent analysis of an individual ARX model, we obtain a union error bound for a bank of ARX models. Step 2 involves model reduction via weighted singular value decomposition (SVD), where we consider different data-dependent weighting matrices and use robustness results for SVD to obtain error bounds on extended controllability and observability matrices, respectively. The final Step 3 focuses on deriving error bounds for system matrices, where two different realization algorithms, the MOESP type and the Larimore type, are considered. Digital twin (DT) is becoming a promising solution for vehicular networks to improve the interoperability of distributed autonomous driving systems. Mobile edge computing (MEC) has been introduced to provide low-latency services for DT-enabled vehicular networks at the edge of the network. However, it is hard to obtain the dynamic network topology for moving vehicles by the ground-based MEC system, which may deteriorate the service quality for DT synchronization. In this paper, we propose a novel unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted synchronization framework for DT-enabled vehicular networks. With the proposed framework, an intelligent resource allocation algorithm is developed to improve UAV resource utilization and maximize the synchronization completion ratio. By leveraging an advantage actor-critic (A2C) algorithm, the synchronization decisions are obtained with low time complexity. Experiment results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can reduce the synchronization latency and improve the synchronization completion ratio effectively.

The study presented here consists of an entire framework for prediction of consumers behavior through the machine training of supervised learning methods. The strategy involves the following: data collection, preprocessing, exploration, feature selection, model selection, training, evaluation, interpretation and deployment. The systematic process is tailored to clear the pathway for combining data about customer taste, sophisticated habits, and purchasing trends. Primary components include data preprocessing, training of machine learning models, feature selection, and ethical issues regarding data privacy and transparency. The outcomes of the implementation are a high accuracy in consumers clustering, efficient classification of customers' behavior, as well as unveiling a bunch of crucial predictors that affect the customers mood and behavior. As a result, the report stresses the necessity of integrated monitoring and redirection strategies to realize the potential of the created models. The idea of predictive analysis as an evolving tool that enables marketers to tailor their campaigns more closely, and improve the overall customer experience therefore also receives attention. The proposed system methodology constitutes a solid process framework for business defined to aim at using predictive analytics to gain competitive edge in the current dynamic marketplace.

This paper presents an interactive motion control method based on reinforcement learning, designed to assist children with autism who have social motor impairments through a mirror game intervention. The virtual teacher uses the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) algorithm to optimize its actions, guiding the participant to follow a Lissajous trajectory. To ensure safety, a motion-correction mechanism was developed, which automatically adjusts actions when the predicted trajectory surpasses predefined safety boundaries. The reward function considers both the distance between the virtual teacher and the target trajectory, as well as the distance between the virtual teacher and the participant, with dynamic adjustments applied by the motion-correction mechanism. Experimental results demonstrate that the virtual teacher effectively guides the participant towards the target trajectory while adhering to safety constraints.

The task of audio-visual event localization (AVEL) aims to localize a visible and audible event in a video. Previous methods first divide a video into segments and then fuse visual and acoustic features at the segment level via a co-attention mechanism. However, existing methods mostly model relations between individual visual and audio segments in a limitedly short period, which may not cover a longer video duration for better high-level event information modeling. In this paper, we proposed a novel model termed Multimodal Transformer Network with Latent Interaction (MTNLI) to tackle this problem. The proposed MTNLI model employs a multimodal Transformer structure to learn the cross-modality relationships between latent visual and audio summarizations in long segment sequences, which summarize the visual and audio segments into a small number of latent representations to avoid modeling uninformative individual visual-audio relations. The cross-modality information between the latent summarizations is propagated to fuse valuable information from both modalities, which can effectively handle large temporal inconsistent between vision and audio. Our MTNLI method achieves state-of-the-art performance on the benchmark AVE (Audio-Visual Event) dataset for the event localization task. © 2021 IEEE

This paper introduces Easy One-Step Text-to-Speech (E1 TTS), an efficient non-autoregressive zero-shot text-to-speech system based on denoising diffusion pretraining and distribution matching distillation. The training of E1 TTS is straightforward; it does not require explicit monotonic alignment between the text and audio pairs. The inference of E1 TTS is efficient, requiring only one neural network evaluation for each utterance. Despite its sampling efficiency, E1 TTS achieves naturalness and speaker similarity comparable to various strong baseline models. Audio samples are available at ***.

This paper presents a PID controller optimization method based on an Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) algorithm, aimed at enhancing the design and performance of automated force calibration devices. Traditional force calibration systems often suffer from limitations in automation and force application accuracy, which this method seeks to address. The IPSO algorithm incorporates logistic chaotic mapping to initialize particle positions and enhances the standard particle swarm algorithm through nonlinear decreasing weights and adaptive learning factors, resulting in improved global search capabilities and faster local convergence. Additionally, the objective function is refined by normalizing and weighting the integral of time-multiplied absolute error (ITAE) and the overshoot, thereby further enhancing the force application accuracy of the PID controller. Simulation results demonstrate that the IPSO algorithm offers significant advantages in terms of settling time, overshoot, and ITAE error when compared to traditional PID tuning methods (e.g., Ziegler-Nichols) and other optimization algorithms (e.g., GA, GWO). Experimental results validate the effectiveness and practicality of the IPSO algorithm, providing an efficient solution for the automation and high-precision control of force sensor calibration systems.

The continuous iteration of consumer electronics has significantly promoted the development of medical devices, which has enabled the collection of large amounts of heterogeneous medical data. These data are offloaded from local devices to cloud servers for processing using traditional methods, which results in high transmission latency and the risk of privacy leakage. Additionally, researchers have employed federated learning to protect data privacy, but this approach can lead to a straggler effect due to the limited computational and communication resources of terminal devices. To address these issues, a computation offloading framework is designed to optimize task and resource allocation, addressing multi-optimization problems and mitigating the straggler effect in federated learning. Moreover, a novel computation offloading method within a federated learning framework assisted by edge computing, named DRWB, is proposed. Specifically, we develop a deep reinforcement learning-based approach to transfer lagging training tasks to idle edge servers, enhancing data processing speed, minimizing transmission delays, and protecting user privacy. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the DRWB method outperforms baseline methods, showcasing superior performance in handling heterogeneous medical data tasks. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

—This paper presents ARTEMIS, an end-to-end autonomous driving framework that combines autoregressive trajectory planning with Mixture-of-Experts (MoE). Traditional modular methods suffer from error propagation, while existing end-to-end models typically employ static one-shot inference paradigms that inadequately capture the dynamic changes of the environment. ARTEMIS takes a different method by generating trajectory waypoints sequentially, preserves critical temporal dependencies while dynamically routing scene-specific queries to specialized expert networks. It effectively relieves trajectory quality degradation issues encountered when guidance information is ambiguous, and overcomes the inherent representational limitations of singular network architectures when processing diverse driving scenarios. Additionally, we use a lightweight batch reallocation strategy that significantly improves the training speed of the Mixture-of-Experts model. Through experiments on the NAVSIM dataset, ARTEMIS exhibits superior competitive performance, achieving 87.0 PDMS and 83.1 EPDMS with ResNet-34 backbone, demonstrates state-of-the-art performance on multiple metrics. Diffsound: Discrete Diffusion Model for Text-to-sound Generation

Generating sound effects that people want is an important topic. However, there are limited studies in this area for sound generation. In this study, we investigate generating sound conditioned on a text prompt and propose a novel text-to-sound generation framework that consists of a text encoder, a Vector Quantized Variational Autoencoder (VQ-VAE), a token-decoder, and a vocoder. The framework first uses the token-decoder to transfer the text features extracted from the text encoder to a mel-spectrogram with the help of VQ-VAE, and then the vocoder is used to transform the generated mel-spectrogram into a waveform. We found that the token-decoder significantly influences the generation performance. Thus, we focus on designing a good token-decoder in this study. We begin with the traditional autoregressive (AR) token-decoder, which has shown state-of-the-art performance in previous sound generation works. However, the AR token-decoder always predicts the mel-spectrogram tokens one by one in order, which may introduce the unidirectional bias and accumulation of errors problems. Moreover, with the AR token-decoder, the sound generation time increases linearly with the sound duration. To overcome the shortcomings introduced by AR token-decoders, we propose a non-autoregressive token-decoder based on the discrete diffusion model, named Diffsound. Specifically, the Diffsound model predicts all of the mel-spectrogram tokens in one step and then refines the predicted tokens in the next step, so the best-predicted results can be obtained by iteration. Our experiments show that our proposed Diffsound model not only produces better text-to-sound generation results when compared with the AR token-decoder but also has a faster generation speed, i.e., MOS: 3.56 v.s 2.786, and the generation speed is five times faster than the AR decoder.
