Modifying Lyapunov exponent of chaotic map by self-cascading

The self-cascade(SC) method is an effective technique for chaos enhancement and complexity increasing in chaos ***, the controllable self-cascade(CSC) method allows for more accurate control of Lyapunov exponents of the discrete map. In this work, the SC and CSC systems of the original map are derived, which enhance the chaotic performance while preserving the fundamental dynamical characteristics of the original map. Higher Lyapunov exponent of chaotic sequences corresponding to higher frequency are obtained in SC and CSC systems. Meanwhile, the Lyapunov exponent could be linearly controlled with greater flexibility in the CSC system. The verification of the numerical simulation and theoretical analysis is carried out based on the platform of CH32.

Researchers have recently achieved significant advances in deep learning techniques, which in turn has substantially advanced other research disciplines, such as natural language processing, image processing, speech recognition, and software engineering. Various deep learning techniques have been successfully employed to facilitate software engineering tasks, including code generation, software refactoring, and fault localization. Many studies have also been presented in top conferences and journals, demonstrating the applications of deep learning techniques in resolving various software engineering tasks. However,although several surveys have provided overall pictures of the application of deep learning techniques in software engineering,they focus more on learning techniques, that is, what kind of deep learning techniques are employed and how deep models are trained or fine-tuned for software engineering tasks. We still lack surveys explaining the advances of subareas in software engineering driven by deep learning techniques, as well as challenges and opportunities in each subarea. To this end, in this study, we present the first task-oriented survey on deep learning-based software engineering. It covers twelve major software engineering subareas significantly impacted by deep learning techniques. Such subareas spread out through the whole lifecycle of software development and maintenance, including requirements engineering, software development, testing, maintenance, and developer collaboration. As we believe that deep learning may provide an opportunity to revolutionize the whole discipline of software engineering, providing one survey covering as many subareas as possible in software engineering can help future research push forward the frontier of deep learning-based software engineering more systematically. Domain generalization with semi-supervised learning for people-centric activity recognition

People-centric activity recognition is one of the most critical technologies in a wide range of real-world applications,including intelligent transportation systems, healthcare services, and brain-computer interfaces. Large-scale data collection and annotation make the application of machine learning algorithms prohibitively expensive when adapting to new tasks. One way of circumventing this limitation is to train the model in a semi-supervised learning manner that utilizes a percentage of unlabeled data to reduce the labeling burden in prediction tasks. Despite their appeal, these models often assume that labeled and unlabeled data come from similar distributions, which leads to the domain shift problem caused by the presence of distribution gaps. To address these limitations, we propose herein a novel method for people-centric activity recognition,called domain generalization with semi-supervised learning(DGSSL), that effectively enhances the representation learning and domain alignment capabilities of a model. We first design a new autoregressive discriminator for adversarial training between unlabeled and labeled source domains, extracting domain-specific features to reduce the distribution gaps. Second, we introduce two reconstruction tasks to capture the task-specific features to avoid losing information related to representation learning while maintaining task-specific consistency. Finally, benefiting from the collaborative optimization of these two tasks, the model can accurately predict both the domain and category labels of the source domains for the classification task. We conduct extensive experiments on three real-world sensing datasets. The experimental results show that DGSSL surpasses the three state-of-the-art methods with better performance and generalization.

Research on facial expression recognition based on multimodal data fusion and neural network

Facial expression recognition is a challenging task when neural network is applied to pattern recognition. Most of the current recognition research is based on single source facial data, which generally has the disadvantages of low accuracy and low robustness. In this paper, a neural network algorithm of facial expression recognition based on multimodal data fusion is proposed. The algorithm is based on the multimodal data, and it takes the facial image, the histogram of oriented gradient of the image and the facial landmarks as the input, and establishes Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) designed to extract features from facial image, neural network designed to extract features from facial Landmarks and Neural Network (LNN) designed to extract features from Histogram of gradient (HNN), three sub-neural networks to extract data features, using multimodal data feature fusion mechanism to improve the accuracy of facial expression recognition. OCRBench: on the hidden mystery of OCR in large multimodal models

Large models have recently played a dominant role in natural language processing and multimodal vision-language learning. However, their effectiveness in text-related visual tasks remains relatively unexplored. In this paper, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of large multimodal models, such as GPT4V and Gemini, in various text-related visual tasks including text recognition, scene text-centric visual question answering(VQA), document-oriented VQA, key information extraction(KIE), and handwritten mathematical expression recognition(HMER). To facilitate the assessment of optical character recognition(OCR) capabilities in large multimodal models, we propose OCRBench, a comprehensive evaluation benchmark. OCRBench contains 29 datasets, making it the most comprehensive OCR evaluation benchmark available. Furthermore, our study reveals both the strengths and weaknesses of these models, particularly in handling multilingual text, handwritten text, non-semantic text, and mathematical expression *** importantly, the baseline results presented in this study could provide a foundational framework for the conception and assessment of innovative strategies targeted at enhancing zero-shot multimodal *** evaluation pipeline and benchmark are available at https://***/Yuliang-Liu/Multimodal OCR.

Decentralized Anonymous Payment Systems (DAP), often known as cryptocurrencies, stand out as some of the most innovative and successful applications on the blockchain. These systems have garnered significant attention in the financial industry due to their highly secure and reliable features. Regrettably, the DAP system can be exploited to fund illegal activities such as drug dealing and terrorism. Therefore, governments are increasingly worried about the illicit use of DAP systems, which poses a critical threat to their security. This paper proposes Privacy and Compliance in Regulated Anonymous Payment System Based on Blockchain (PCRAP), which provides government supervision and enforces regulations over transactions without sacrificing the essential idea of the blockchain, that is, without surrendering transaction privacy or anonymity of the participants. The key characteristic of the proposed scheme is using a ring signature and stealth address to ensure the anonymity of both the sender and receiver of the transaction. Moreover, a Merkle Tree is used to guarantee government supervision and enforce regulations. Our proposed scheme satisfies most of the stringent security requirements and complies with the standards of secure payment systems. Additionally, while our work supports government regulations and supervision, it guarantees unconditional anonymity for users. Furthermore, the performance analysis demonstrates that our suggested scheme still remains applicable and effective even when achieving complete anonymity. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

A Review of Intelligent Configuration and Its Security for Complex Networks

Complex networks are becoming more complex because of the use of many components with diverse technologies. In fact, manual configuration that makes each component interoperable has breed latent danger to system security. There is still no comprehensive review of these studies and prospects for further research. According to the complexity of component configuration and difficulty of security assurance in typical complex networks, this paper systematically reviews the abstract models and formal analysis methods required for intelligent configuration of complex networks, specifically analyzes, and compares the current key technologies such as configuration semantic awareness, automatic generation of security configuration, dynamic deployment, and verification evaluation. These technologies can effectively improve the security of complex networks intelligent configuration and reduce the complexity of operation and maintenance. This paper also summarizes the mainstream construction methods of complex networks configuration and its security test environment and detection index system, which lays a theoretical foundation for the formation of the comprehensive effectiveness verification capability of configuration security. The whole lifecycle management system of configuration security process proposed in this paper provides an important technical reference for reducing the complexity of network operation and maintenance and improving network security.

An efficient multi-objective task scheduling in edge computing using adaptive honey badger optimisation

Task scheduling, which is important in cloud computing, is one of the most challenging issues in this area. Hence, an efficient and reliable task scheduling approach is needed to produce more efficient resource employment. So, a multi-objective-based task scheduling for edge computing is suggested in this study. This paper develops the adaptive honey badger optimisation algorithm (AHBA) to accomplish this goal. The lack of population, the original honey badger algorithm (HBO) has the issue of becoming trapped in local optima. To maintain population variety and improve convergence towards the ideal solution, HBO is combined with the opposition-based learning technique (OBL). Based on makespan, cost, energy consumption, and resource usage, the multi-objective function is created. According to simulation results, the proposed approach has a lot of potential in this field.
