As sports video collections continue to expand at a rapid pace, there is a need for advanced classification methods that can accurately and efficiently categorize and manage the massive amount of content available. These methods must be able to dynamically adapt to changes in the collection, ensuring that the videos are properly organized and easily searchable for users. Traditional classification methods are not able to keep up with the rapid growth and complexity of sports video collections, leading to incomplete classification and impacting search and retrieval processes. This paper addresses this challenge using the UCF sports dataset and proposes a Visual Geometry Group-19 (VGG-19) based CNN classifier and Equiangular Basis Vector (EBV) representation introduced for efficient classification and category representation. Furthermore, a 3D Convolutional Neural Network (3D-CNN) architecture extracts both spatial and temporal features from videos for accurate action classification. The Adam optimizer in the optimization algorithm is employed to optimize the learning process. This paper shows that the proposed 3D-CNN model outperforms existing methods a Hybrid Convolutional Neural Network with a Bidirectional Recurrent Neural Network (HCNN-BiRNN) model, Deformable Convolution Networks (DCN), 2D-Convolutional Neural Network (2D-CNN), Convolutional Neural Network - Long Short-Term Frequency (CNN-LSTM) in terms of accuracy (99.45%), precision (98.00%), sensitivity (96.98%), and F1-score (97.05%).

Despite edge computing reducing communication delays associated with cloud computing, privacy concerns remain a significant challenge when sharing data from edge-based consumer electronics (CE) or Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. Ciphertext policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) is a cryptographic tool that facilitates intricate and refined access control. It can deliver more flexible, secure, compact, and effective access control policies for the cloud data. In the case of a conventional CP-ABE scheme, the keys can only be issued and disseminated by a trusted central authority (CA). However, if the CA is compromised, the entire system becomes more susceptible to assaults or failures, which leads to a single-point failure. In this article, we propose a Ring-Learning with Errors (Ring-LWE)-based MA-CP-ABE scheme that is effectively resolved by the multi-authority CP-ABE (MA-CP-ABE), and it ensures the security against quantum attacks. The threshold secret sharing by Shamir and the Lagrange interpolation formula are applied in the key-generation and decryption procedures of the proposed scheme, which make it easier to segment and restore the private keys. The proposed scheme is implemented in the CE-enabled IoT-based smart healthcare applications using the blockchain technology as a secure storage. A detailed comparative study, security analysis and experimental results with the existing relevant schemes shows that the proposed scheme exhibits superior security and better efficiency as compared to other schemes, demonstrating its feasibility in practical IoT-based healthcare applications. © 2025 IEEE.

Recent advances in single image super-resolution (SISR) have achieved remarkable performance through deep learning. However, the high computational cost hinders the deployment of SISR models on edge devices. Instead of proposing new SISR models, a new trend is emerging to improve network efficiency by reducing parameters, FLOPs, and inference time through slight modifications to the original models. However, recent methods usually focus on reducing only one of three metrics, i.e., FLOPs, parameters and inference time, which inevitably increases the other two metrics. In this paper, we propose a novel Adaptive Student Inference Network (ASIN) on popular SISR models, which aims at reducing FLOPs and inference time while maintaining the number of parameters and restoring clearer high-resolution images. Specifically, our ASIN divides a SISR model into three components (head, body and tail) and adopts various strategies for each part. For head and tail parts, to ensure the restored images contain more detailed information, a novel auxiliary Enhanced Teacher Network (ETNet) is designed, which is trained with the ground-truth images to obtain more prior knowledge to guide student network to extract more accurate textures using a new knowledge distillation method. For the body part, owing to the varying difficulties of the reconstructions in different regions, we propose an Adaptive Depth Predicted Module (ADPM) to dynamically shorten average depth of network to reduce the computational cost of overall network. Extensive experiments on two datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and state-of-the-art performance of our ASIN compared to its counterparts.

Road damage detection system based on deep learning models has been extensively researched, capable of intelligently detecting damages in roads. However, to ensure reliability, a large number of images usually need to be collected and annotated to test the model. Collecting images is often a straightforward work, but annotating them is both time-consuming and costly. To minimize annotation costs during the testing phase, we can evaluate images using Test Prioritization method to select more meaningful samples for system testing. Yet, most mainstream work currently only evaluates cases based on classification result, neglecting the impact of localization. At the same time, these methods do not provide higher evaluation results to complex images that may detect errors or images where targets cannot be detected at all. To address these issues, we propose a new Test Prioritization tool, Dual-u, to evaluate road damage cases. It consists of two components: (1) Localization Uncertainty Evaluation, which evaluates the localization of damages while considering the value of the image, ensuring that complex images and images where targets cannot be detected also have higher priority; (2) Classification Uncertainty Evaluation, which evaluates the classification of damages. To evaluate Dual-u, we conduct extensive experiments using two object detection model architectures on multiple road disease datasets, and the results demonstrate that Dual-u outperforms existing methods in evaluating cases. Moreover, Dual-u can also be used to improve the accuracy and robustness of road disease detection models.

We propose Multiple Experts Fine-tuning Framework to build a financial largelanguage model (LLM), DISC-FinLLM. Our methodology improves general LLMs byendowing them with multi-turn question answering abilities, domain textprocessing capabilities, mathematical computation skills, andretrieval-enhanced generation capabilities. We build a financialinstruction-tuning dataset named DISC-FIN-SFT, including instruction samples offour categories (consulting, NLP tasks, computing and retrieval-augmentedgeneration). SG-GS: Topology-aware Human Avatars with Semantically-guided Gaussian Splatting

Reconstructing photo-realistic and topology-aware animatable human avatars from monocular videos remains challenging in computer vision and graphics. Recently, methods using 3D Gaussians to represent the human body have emerged, offering faster optimization and real-time rendering. However, due to ignoring the crucial role of human body semantic information which represents the explicit topological and intrinsic structure within human body, they fail to achieve fine-detail reconstruction of human avatars. To address this issue, we propose SG-GS, which uses semantics-embedded 3D Gaussians, skeleton-driven rigid deformation, and non-rigid cloth dynamics deformation to create photo-realistic human avatars. We then design a Semantic Human-Body Annotator (SHA) which utilizes SMPL’s semantic prior for efficient body part semantic labeling. The generated labels are used to guide the optimization of semantic attributes of Gaussian. To capture the explicit topological structure of the human body, we employ a 3D network that integrates both topological and geometric associations for human avatar deformation. We further implement three key strategies to enhance the semantic accuracy of 3D Gaussians and rendering quality: semantic projection with 2D regularization, semantic-guided density regularization and semantic-aware regularization with neighborhood consistency. Incremental few-shot semantic segmentation (IFSS) expands segmentation capacity of the trained model to segment new-class images with few samples. However, semantic meanings may shift from background to object class or vice versa during incremental learning. Moreover, new-class samples often lack representative attribute features when the new class greatly differs from the pre-learned old class. In this paper, we propose a causal framework to discuss the cause of semantic shift and incompleteness in IFSS, and we deconfound the revealed causal effects from two aspects. First, we propose a Causal Intervention Module (CIM) to resist semantic shift. CIM progressively and adaptively updates prototypes of old class, and removes the confounder in an intervention manner. Second, a Prototype Refinement Module (PRM) is proposed to complete the missing semantics. In PRM, knowledge gained from the episode learning scheme assists in fusing features of new-class and old-class prototypes. Experiments on both PASCAL-VOC 2012 and ADE20k benchmarks demonstrate the outstanding performance of our method. Copyright © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). By integrating external knowledge, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) has become an effective strategy for mitigating the hallucination problems that large language models (LLMs) encounter when dealing with knowledge-intensive tasks. However, in the process of integrating external non-parametric supporting evidence with internal parametric knowledge, inevitable knowledge conflicts may arise, leading to confusion in the model’s responses. To enhance the knowledge selection of LLMs in various contexts, some research has focused on refining their behavior patterns through instruction-tuning. Nonetheless, due to the absence of explicit negative signals and comparative objectives, models fine-tuned in this manner may still exhibit undesirable behaviors such as contextual ignorance and contextual overinclusion. To this end, we propose a Knowledge-aware Preference Optimization strategy, dubbed KnowPO, aimed at achieving adaptive knowledge selection based on contextual relevance in real retrieval scenarios. Concretely, we proposed a general paradigm for constructing knowledge conflict datasets, which comprehensively cover various error types and learn how to avoid these negative signals through preference optimization methods. Simultaneously, we proposed a rewriting strategy and data ratio optimization strategy to address preference imbalances. Experimental results show that KnowPO outperforms previous methods for handling knowledge conflicts by over 37%, while also exhibiting robust generalization across various out-of-distribution datasets. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Lane detection under extreme conditions presents a highly challenging task that requires capturing each crucial pixel to predict the complex topology of lane lines and differentiate the various lane types. Existing methods predominantly rely on deep feature extraction networks with substantial parameters or the fusion of multiple prediction modules, resulting in large model sizes, embedding difficulties, and slow detection speeds. This paper proposes a Proportional Feature Pyramid Network(P-FPN) through fusing the weights into the FPN for lane detection. In our method, the high-level features are explored to predict lanes coarsely while local- detailed features are leveraged to improve localization accuracy. Extensive experiments on the widely used lane detection dataset, CULane dataset, demonstrate that the proposed method achieves the competitive results compared with several state-of-the-art approaches.
