Deep multiple instance learning (MIL) has attracted considerable attention in medical image analysis, since it only requires image-level labels for model training without using fine-grained (or patch) annotations. Unfortunately, MIL-based methods might lose some significant patch features. Although pseudo-label-based methods, which assign a pre-defined label to each patch, can explore more patch-level features, they might bring label noise and make the patch-level features lose diversity, thereby possibly restricting the model performance. To overcome this issue, we propose a novel gradient-based patch target generation (PTG) module to dynamically produce a feature vector for each patch as its target. Additionally, based on the PTG module, we propose a patch-target guided dual-branch deep MIL framework for 3D MRI data analysis, where both the two branches consist of a CNN model to extract patch-level features, an attention module to interpret the significance of patches, and a bag-level classifier, while the second branch also contains the PTG module to generate patch targets of patches. Moreover, the two branches are alternatively updated in our framework, resulting in a bi-level optimization problem, and thus we design a bi-level optimization algorithm to solve our proposed objective function. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superior classification and interpretation performance of the proposed framework over recent state-of-the-art methods. Detect Changes like Humans: Incorporating Semantic Priors for Improved Change Detection

When given two similar images, humans identify their differences by comparing the appearance (e.g., color, texture) with the help of semantics (e.g., objects, relations). However, mainstream change detection models adopt a supervised training paradigm, where the annotated binary change map is the main constraint. Thus, these methods primarily emphasize the difference-aware features between bi-temporal images and neglect the semantic understanding of the changed landscapes, which undermines the accuracy in the presence of noise and illumination variations. To this end, this paper explores incorporating semantic priors to improve the ability to detect changes. Firstly, we propose a Semantic-Aware Change Detection network, namely SA-CDNet, which transfers the common knowledge of the visual foundation models (i.e., FastSAM) to change detection. Inspired by the human visual paradigm, a novel dual-stream feature decoder is derived to distinguish changes by combining semantic-aware features and difference-aware features. Secondly, we design a single-temporal semantic pre-training strategy to enhance the semantic understanding of landscapes, which brings further increments. Specifically, we construct pseudo-change detection data from public single-temporal remote sensing segmentation datasets for large-scale pre-training, where an extra branch is also introduced for the proxy semantic segmentation task. Experimental results on five challenging benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of our method over the existing stateof- the-art methods. The code is available at SA-CD. The multi-frequency phase heterodyne method is the most common method applied in the unwrap phase, but it failed to reduce the noise error in the image and the sinusoidal error from the projector. In order to address these issues, this study proposes a local phase correction method. This study starts to determine whether a phase map needs to be corrected by calculating the deviation between the predicted and actual phase according to the slope of the projected standard fringe pattern. Then the phase is corrected by different intensities at different sections. Finally, the method compensates the phase error of the detail part with the minimum error phase correction. Experimental results showed that the local phase correction method is the optimal phase correction method, which reduced the phase error by 86.5%. Finally, the phase map of the metal workpiece surface was calculated by the various methods. And the phase map with the highest quality was obtained by using the local phase correction method. © 2021 Chinese Automation and Computing Society in the UK-CACSUK.

In recent years, advancements in generative models have significantly expanded the capabilities of text-to-3D generation. Many approaches rely on Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) technology. However, SDS struggles to accommodate multi-condition inputs, such as text and visual prompts, in customized generation tasks. To explore the core reasons, we decompose SDS into a difference term and a classifier-free guidance term. Our analysis identifies the core issue as arising from the difference term and the random noise addition during the optimization process, both contributing to deviations from the target mode during distillation. To address this, we propose a novel algorithm, Classifier Score Matching (CSM), which removes the difference term in SDS and uses a deterministic noise addition process to reduce noise during optimization, effectively overcoming the low-quality limitations of SDS in our customized generation framework. Based on CSM, we integrate visual prompt information with an attention fusion mechanism and sampling guidance techniques, forming the Visual Prompt CSM (VPCSM) algorithm. Furthermore, we introduce a Semantic-Geometry Calibration (SGC) module to enhance quality through improved textual information integration. Character, Word, or Both? Revisiting the Segmentation Granularity for Chinese Pre-trained Language Models

Pretrained language models (PLMs) have shown marvelous improvements across various NLP tasks. Most Chinese PLMs simply treat an input text as a sequence of characters, and completely ignore word information. Although Whole Word Masking can alleviate this, the semantics in words is still not well represented. In this paper, we revisit the segmentation granularity of Chinese PLMs. We propose a mixed-granularity Chinese BERT (MigBERT) by considering both characters and words. To achieve this, we design objective functions for learning both character and word-level representations. We conduct extensive experiments on various Chinese NLP tasks to evaluate existing PLMs as well as the proposed MigBERT. Experimental results show that MigBERT achieves new SOTA performance on all these tasks. Further analysis demonstrates that words are semantically richer than characters. Deciding on an uncertain event may lead to risk. Uncertainty occurs due to the lack of knowledge of a particular event or a situation. The only way to avoid this is to analyze the Risk. The risk analyzed properly will reduce the impacts to a great extent. Here the risk management dealt with the anomaly detection mechanism, which is carried out by clustering the data to find the outlier as the *** proposed method employs the PCA mechanism for dimensionality reduction which is further clustered with K means algorithm and classified with decision tree algorithm. © 2021 IEEE.

With the growing environmental concern, the demand for electric vehicle is increasing in India. However, the limited existing charging facilities slow down the rate of adoption in the market. Presently, the solar-based charging system is gaining popularity, due to its low greenhouse gas emission. In this study, a case study for different solar charging systems suited in Delhi is presented. The economic and environmental analysis of different solar-based EV charging systems utilized for charging three types of commercial EVs such as 2, 3, and 4-W is explained. The cost of energy required for 100 km drive is lower with vehicle integrating PV charging system;however, it can act as a supportive system for driving range improvement. The analysis shows that the economically solar rooftop charging system is suitable for all types of EVs. The CO2 emission produced by all types of solar-based EV charging systems is lower than coal-based charging systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.

UniUIR: Considering Underwater Image Restoration as An All-in-One Learner

Existing underwater image restoration (UIR) methods generally only handle color distortion or jointly address color and haze issues, but they often overlook the more complex degradations that can occur in underwater scenes. To address this limitation, we propose a Universal Underwater Image Restoration method, termed as UniUIR, considering the complex scenario of real-world underwater mixed distortions as an all-in-one manner. To decouple degradation-specific issues and explore the inter-correlations among various degradations in UIR task, we designed the Mamba Mixture-of-Experts module. This module enables each expert to identify distinct types of degradation and collaboratively extract task-specific priors while maintaining global feature representation based on linear complexity. Building upon this foundation, to enhance degradation representation and address the task conflicts that arise when handling multiple types of degradation, we introduce the spatial-frequency prior generator. This module extracts degradation prior information in both spatial and frequency domains, and adaptively selects the most appropriate task-specific prompts based on image content, thereby improving the accuracy of image restoration. Finally, to more effectively address complex, region-dependent distortions in UIR task, we incorporate depth information derived from a large-scale pre-trained depth prediction model, thereby enabling the network to perceive and leverage depth variations across different image regions to handle localized degradation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniUIR can produce more attractive results across qualitative and quantitative comparisons, and shows strong generalization than state-of-the-art methods. The detection task unifies all persons while the re-id task discriminates different identities, resulting in conflict optimal objectives. Existing works proposed to decouple end-to-end person search to alleviate such conflict. Yet these methods are still sub-optimal on one or two of the sub-tasks due to their partially decoupled models, which limits the overall person search performance. In this paper, we propose to fully decouple person search towards optimal person search. A task-incremental person search network is proposed to incrementally construct an end-to-end model for the detection and re-id sub-task, which decouples the model architecture for the two sub-tasks. The proposed task-incremental network allows task-incremental training for the two conflicting tasks. This enables independent learning for different objectives thus fully decoupled the model for persons earch.
