In the domain of nonlinear hybrid dynamic system modeling, the effectiveness of switched autoregressive exogenous (SARX) systems may face certain restrictions. To address this issue, this paper presents an enhanced switched system framework. In this framework, all SARX subsystems are replaced with gated recurrent neural networks, aiming to overcome these limitations. Importantly, the proposed switched system does not rely on any prior assumptions about the knowledge of operating modes. Finally, a new identification method is proposed based on the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm, and its effectiveness is validated through a simulation example. © 2023 IEEE.

Facial Action Unit (AU) detection is a crucial task in affective computing and social robotics as it helps to identify emotions expressed through facial expressions. Anatomically, there are innumerable correlations between AUs, which contain rich information and are vital for AU detection. Previous methods used fixed AU correlations based on expert experience or statistical rules on specific benchmarks, but it is challenging to comprehensively reflect complex correlations between AUs via hand-crafted settings. There are alternative methods that employ a fully connected graph to learn these dependencies exhaustively. However, these approaches can result in a computational explosion and high dependency with a large dataset. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel self-adjusting AU-correlation learning (SACL) method with less computation for AU detection. This method adaptively learns and updates AU correlation graphs by efficiently leveraging the characteristics of different levels of AU motion and emotion representation information extracted in different stages of the network. Moreover, this paper explores the role of multi-scale learning in correlation information extraction, and design a simple yet effective multi-scale feature learning (MSFL) method to promote better performance in AU detection. By integrating AU correlation information with multi-scale features, the proposed method obtains a more robust feature representation for the final AU detection. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on widely used AU detection benchmark datasets, with only 28.7% and 12.0% of the parameters and FLOPs of the best method, respectively. Optimization in ad hoc networks is a highly specialized task because the structure of the network is loosely formed, and each node is independently responsible for its operation. In order to obtain a better result from this solely formed networks this report offer extensive Dynamic Topology Management (DTM) method. Dynamic routing protocols lager lines, dividend balancing, Life-saving administration, guarantee of reliability, cross-layer design, security aspects and the on-time monitoring and discovery of topology changes are the main objectives and steps to be accomplished. Real-time Location monitoring and forest structure discovery are made possible by employing adaptive routing protocols, namely Dynamic Source Routing(DSR) and Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV). Also, the algorithms are capable of making advance adjustments to routing routes and resource allocations drawn from the mobility patterns forecasting which is vital. Load balancing methods, which distribute traffic in a network evenly, enable the system to run efficiently and avoid problems caused by overloading. Algorithms that are energy-efficient and make the best use of energy resources having their topology's optimized are introduced to the streamlined energy distribution systems. These algorithms are focused on the node's energy level. Through fault tolerance techniques which recognize and handle failures in nodes and partitioned networks, connectedness activity is a continuous one. Through QoS perception, the network topology might automatically be tailored to conform to the given quality criteria, thus not restricting the choice for differing applications. The proposed could have defenses against adversary nodes and their potential DDoS attacks which will enhance network protection. Yet another advantage of an architectural style that promotes cross-layer collaboration is enhanced topology management which is the goal around which the functions of various levels of the protocol stack revolve

The Sequence-to-Sequence (Seq2Seq) of neural network (NN) method based on recurrent neural network (RNN) and attention mechanism plays an important role in information extraction and automatic summarization. However, this method can't make full use of the text linguistic feature information, and there is a problem of unregistered words in the generated results, which affects the accuracy and readability of the text summarization. To solve this problem, the text linguistic feature is used to improve the input characteristics, and the copy mechanism is introduced to alleviate the problem of unregistered words in the summarization generation process. On this basis, a new method named Copy-Generator Model (CGM) based on Seq2Seq model is proposed to improve the effect of text summarization. The results of experiments using LCSTS (Large Scale Chinese Short Text Summarization) as the data source show that the proposed method in this paper can effectively improve the accuracy of summarization and can be applied to automatic text summarization. © 2021 IEEE.

Cross-project software defect prediction(CPDP)aims to enhance defect prediction in target projects with limited or no historical data by leveraging information from related source *** existing CPDP approaches rely on static metrics or dynamic syntactic features,which have shown limited effectiveness in CPDP due to their inability to capture higher-level system properties,such as complex design patterns,relationships between multiple functions,and dependencies in different software projects,that are important for *** paper introduces a novel approach,a graph-based feature learning model for CPDP(GB-CPDP),that utilizes NetworkX to extract features and learn representations of program entities from control flow graphs(CFGs)and data dependency graphs(DDGs).These graphs capture the structural and data dependencies within the source *** proposed approach employs Node2Vec to transform CFGs and DDGs into numerical vectors and leverages Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)networks to learn predictive *** process involves graph construction,feature learning through graph embedding and LSTM,and defect *** evaluation using nine open-source Java projects from the PROMISE dataset demonstrates that GB-CPDP outperforms state-of-the-art CPDP methods in terms of F1-measure and Area Under the Curve(AUC).The results showcase the effectiveness of GB-CPDP in improving the performance of cross-project defect prediction.

The increasing demand for programmers has led to a surge in participants in programming courses, making it increasingly challenging for instructors to assess student code manually. As a result, automated programming assessment systems (APASs) have been developed to streamline this process. These APASs support lecturers by managing and evaluating student programming exercises at scale. However, these tools often do not provide feature-rich online editors compared to their traditional integrated development environments (IDEs) counterparts. This absence of key features, such as syntax highlighting and autocompletion, can negatively impact the learning experience, as these tools are crucial for effective coding practice. To address this gap, this research contributes to the field of programming education by extracting and defining requirements for an online IDE in an educational context and presenting a prototypical implementation of an open-source solution for a scalable and secure online IDE. The usability of the new online IDE was assessed using the technology Acceptance Model (TAM), gathering feedback from 27 first-year students through a structured survey. In addition to these qualitative insights, quantitative measures such as memory (RAM) usage were evaluated to determine the efficiency and scalability of the tool under varying usage conditions. Vehicle-based traffic speed forecasting aims to predict the average speed of vehicles on the road in the future, which is an essential side information in intelligent vehicles and beneficial to safe autonomous driving, yet is very challenging due to the complex and dynamic spatio-temporal dependencies in real-world vehicle-based traffic. To extract intricate correlations among multiple vehicle-based speed time series, previous methods have used graph convolution networks. However, the conventional static and dynamic graphs fail to reflect the traffic evolution and the hysteresis spatial influence caused by vehicle movement. To address this issue, we propose a novel cross-time dynamic graph-based deep learning model, named CDGNet, for vehicle-based traffic speed forecasting. The model is able to effectively capture hysteresis spatial dependencies between each time slice and its historical time slices through the cross-time dynamic graph-based GCN. Meanwhile, a gating mechanism is integrated into our cross-time dynamic graph, which conforms to the sparse correlation in the real world. Besides, GCNs are incorporated into a novel encoder-decoder architecture to forecast multi-step speed. Experimental results on three real-world vehicle-based traffic speed datasets demonstrate the superiority of our CDGNet over various state-of-the-art spatio-temporal forecasting methods and the effectiveness of each component. We additionally provide a visualization of our cross-time dynamic graph to show the capability of assisting intelligent vehicles to avoid congestion. IEEE

In today's highly integrated and automated aviation field, the stable operation of avionics systems is the foundation for maintaining flight safety and efficient operations. Because of the shortcomings in research on fault classification of avionics modules, this study proposes an Inception-CBAM network model, aiming to improve the accuracy and efficiency of fault diagnosis. This model combines the powerful multi-scale feature extraction capability of the Inception network with the attention mechanism of the CBAM module, which greatly enhances the ability to identify complex fault patterns. Experimental verification shows that the model can effectively classify various faults, enhance the scientificity and systematicness of diagnosis, and contribute important technical support to the formulation of aviation safety maintenance and fault prevention strategies. © 2024 IEEE.

Diverse Co-saliency Feature Learning for Text-Based Person Retrieval

Text-based Person Retrieval (TPR) plays a pivotal role in video surveillance systems for safeguarding public safety. As a fine-grained retrieval task, TPR faces the significant challenge of precisely capturing highly discriminative features across image and text modalities. Existing methods primarily focus on establishing modality-shared feature spaces to bridge cross-modal discrepancies. However, these methods are prone to disturbances from irrelevant information, such as background noises in the visual modality, and often over-emphasize specific local regions while neglecting the capture of diverse discriminative modal features, thereby limiting the robustness of cross-modal matching. In this paper, we introduce a novel framework, termed the Diverse Co-saliency Feature Learning Network (DCFL), which mines the co-saliency information between image and text modalities and enhances the diversity of cross-modal discriminative features while mitigating the interference of noise. Specifically, to construct cross-modal co-saliency features, we devise the Intra-modal Saliency Feature Learning (ISFL) and Cross-modal Saliency Feature Matching (CSFM) modules. ISFL employs a weighted mask mechanism to guide the model in reducing the impact of noise information in both modalities. Complementing ISFL, CSFM establishes consistent relationships between saliency features across modalities, leveraging text descriptions to align pedestrian-relevant visual regions. Furthermore, we propose the Diverse Co-saliency Feature Mining (DCFM) to bolster the diversity of discriminative co-saliency features across both image and text modalities. This module integrates a diversity regularization term, enabling the extraction of varied visual cues and capturing comprehensive features of the target individual. Extensive benchmark experiments demonstrate a substantial superiority of our approach over the state-of-the-art methods. The code will be released publicly. © 2005-2012 IEEE.
