How to evaluate the coding abilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) remains an open question. We find that existing benchmarks are poorly aligned with real-world code repositories and are insufficient to evaluate the coding abilities of LLMs. To address the knowledge gap, we propose a new benchmark named DevEval, which has three advances. 1 DevEval aligns with real-world repositories in multiple dimensions, e.g., code and dependency distributions. 2 DevEval is annotated by 13 developers and contains comprehensive annotations (e.g., requirements, original repositories, reference code, and reference dependencies). 3 DevEval comprises 1,825 testing samples from 115 repositories, covering 10 popular domains (e.g., Internet, Database). Based on DevEval, we propose repository-level code generation and evaluate 8 popular LLMs on DevEval (e.g., gpt-4, gpt-3.5, StarCoder 2, DeepSeek Coder, CodeLLaMa). Our experiments reveal these LLMs' coding abilities in real-world code repositories. For example, the highest Pass@1 of gpt-4 only is 53.04% in our experiments. We also analyze LLMs' failed cases and summarize their shortcomings. We hope DevEval can facilitate the development of LLMs in real code repositories. DevEval, prompts, and LLMs' predictions have been released. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

As efficient commercial information technology, cloud computing has attracted more and more users to submit their requests to the cloud platform and pay for them based on the amount and quality of services. One of the most important concerns of cloud service providers is to minimize the monetary cost for completing users’ requests while meeting constraints on the quality of services such as makespan and security. To solve this concern, this paper proposes a makespan and security-aware workflow scheduling method based on an improved firefly optimizer that consists of a new solution initialization scheme, a firefly position updating scheme, a firefly-to-solution mapping operator, and two task-to-virtual machine assignment schemes. We carry out extensive simulation experiments on real-world workflows to validate our proposed workflow scheduling method. The results reveal that the monetary cost reduction achieved by our method can be up to 54.0% compared to a baseline and two state-of-the-art approaches. © 2023, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Bluetooth technology, which facilitates wireless communication between Billions of devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and Internet of Thing (IoT) devices, is a cornerstone of modern connectivity. Its importance lies in its ability to enable seamless data exchange and interaction across a wide range of applications, from personal gadgets to complex industrial systems. Despite its widespread adoption, Bluetooth is not immune to critical security vulnerabilities. Issues like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) vulnerabilities and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks can overwhelm devices with excessive traffic, while BLE Forced Connection can lead to unauthorized access, and eavesdropping exposes sensitive data being exchanged. We have discussed these vulnerabilities in detail, examining their mechanisms, potential impacts, and various implementation aspects. Additionally, we have added demonstrations to illustrate how these attacks can be executed and the potential consequences. To prevent these threats, we explored essential measures, including regular firmware updates, secure pairing protocols, and careful management of Bluetooth settings. Adopting best practices like disabling Bluetooth when not in use and monitoring connected devices can further enhance security, ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the vast and growing ecosystem of Bluetooth-enabled devices.

With the development of Internet+, an open and innovative educational ecosystem is forming. Secondly, we explore the co-creation construction model of high-quality mathematical resources among government, enterprises and schools, including the main elements of the model, the connection between the elements and the related mechanism support. Tumor type classification and candidate cancer-specific biomarkers discovery via semi-supervised learning

Identifying cancer-related differentially expressed genes provides significant information for diagnosing tumors, predicting prognoses, and effective treatments. Recently, deep learning methods have been used to perform gene differential expression analysis using microarray-based high-throughput gene profiling and have achieved good results. In this study, we proposed a new robust multiple-datasetsbased semi-supervised learning model, MSSL, to perform tumor type classification and candidate cancer-specific biomarkers discovery across multiple tumor types and multiple datasets, which addressed the following long-lasting obstacles:(1) the data volume of the existing single dataset is not enough to fully exert the advantages of deep learning;(2) a large number of datasets from different research institutions cannot be effectively used due to inconsistent internal variances and low quality;(3) relatively uncommon cancers have limited effects on deep learning methods. In our article, we applied MSSL to The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) and the Gene Expression Comprehensive Database(GEO) pan-cancer normalized-level3 RNA-seq data and got 97.6% final classification accuracy, which had a significant performance leap compared with previous approaches. Finally, we got the ranking of the importance of the corresponding genes for each cancer type based on classification results and validated that the top genes selected in this way were biologically meaningful for corresponding tumors and some of them had been used as biomarkers, which showed the efficacy of our method.

With the advancement of computer vision, numerous models have been proposed for screening of fundus diseases. However, the recognition of multiple fundus diseases is often hampered by the simultaneous presence of multiple disease types and the confluence of lesion types in fundus images. This paper addresses these challenges by conceptualizing them as multi-level feature fusion and self-supervised disease-indicative feature learning problems. We decode fundus images at various levels of granularity to delineate scenarios wherein multiple diseases and lesions co-occur. To effectively integrate these features, we introduce a hierarchical vision transformer (HVT) that adeptly captures both inter-level and intra-level dependencies. A novel forward-attention module is proposed to enhance the integration of lower-level semantic information into higher semantic layers, thereby enriching the representation of complex features. Additionally, we introduce a novel self-supervised mask-consistent feature learner (MCFL). Unlike traditional mask-autoencoders that reconstruct original images using encoder-decoder structures, MCFL utilizes a teacher-student framework to reconstruct mask-consistent feature maps. In this setup, exponential moving averaging is employed to derive classification-guided features, serving as labels for reconstruction rather than merely reconstructing the original images. This innovative approach facilitates the extraction of disease-indicative features. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art models. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). In this paper, we propose the Class Attention in Video Transformer (CavT), an end-to-end method designed to process both long and short variant-length videos for student engagement prediction. CavT introduces a single vector for class embedding and incorporates the Binary-Order Representatives Sampling (BorS) technique to augment the dataset by adding multiple video sequences. Our method outperforms the state-of-the-art with MSE values of 0.0495 on the EmotiW-EP and 0.0377 on the DAiSEE datasets, providing a robust and scalable solution for engagement prediction. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Accurate segmentation of medical ultrasound images is crucial for guiding treatment decisions and assessing intervention effectiveness. The challenge of segmenting lesions in ultrasound images arises from factors such as low contrast, high speckle noise, artifacts, and blurred boundaries. Furthermore, this complexity varies significantly among lesions in different cases. While methods based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Transformers have shown promising results in this field, each approach possesses distinct advantages and limitations. To address these challenges, we propose a novel Frequency-aware Interaction Network (FINet). At the core of our FINet lies the proposed Multi-scale Frequency-aware Self-attention (MFS) module, which effectively captures multi-scale feature information within the self-attention layer. This enables our network to model both local and global features, capitalizing on the strengths of both CNNs and Transformers. Additionally, a frequency-aware network is introduced to learn the interactions between spatial locations in the frequency domain to enhance detailed feature representation such as edges. Furthermore, we present a collaborative interactive decoder network, in which a Selective Feature Interaction (SFI) module is proposed to facilitate the semantic and boundary feature interaction, resulting in more precise segmentation outcomes. Experimental results on four medical ultrasound image datasets show the superiority of our FINet over other state-of-the-art segmentation methods. More importantly, our model achieves an excellent trade-off between performance and computational efficiency. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Recent years have witnessed remarkable progress in the development of large vision-language models (LVLMs). Benefiting from the strong language backbones and efficient cross-modal alignment strategies, LVLMs exhibit surprising capabilities to perceive visual signals and perform visually grounded reasoning. However, the capabilities of LVLMs have not been comprehensively and quantitatively evaluated. Most existing multi-modal benchmarks require task-oriented input-output formats, posing great challenges to automatically assess the free-form text output of LVLMs. To effectively leverage the annotations available and reduce the manual efforts required for constructing new benchmarks, we propose to re-formulate existing benchmarks into unified LVLM-compatible formats. Through systematic data collection and reformulation, we present ReForm-Eval benchmark, offering substantial data for evaluating various capabilities of LVLMs. Through extensive experiments and analysis in ReForm-Eval, we demonstrate the comprehensiveness and reliability of ReForm-Eval in assessing various LVLMs. Our benchmark and evaluation framework is now available at https://***/FudanDISC/ReForm-Eval © 2024 ACM.
