In the field of multimodal learning, controlling the training of unimodal encoders from different perspectives is a primary approach to addressing Training Imbalance. However, the inherent capacity limitations of the modality affect the model’s capability. Therefore, generating adversarial examples that can achieve balanced transferability remains a challenging and perplexing problem. In this paper, we propose the InterModality Balanced Attack (MOBA) to address this problem. MOBA leverages Aggregated Modality Perturbation (AMP), which exploits the unbalanced effects of text and image perturbations to maximize the impact on the victim model. AMP capitalizes on the intrinsic feature connections between modalities during the optimization process, adjusting perturbations through Cross-Modality Discrepancy Loss to enhance attack success rates. Additionally, we devise the Transferability-Enhanced Evolution (TEE) to overcome the issue of diminished attack transferability due to model capacity limitations. TEE employs Transfer-Driven Optimization Loss to alleviate overfitting in single models, thereby enhancing the generalization ability.

Online social networks have emerged as a significant data source, but the extensive collection and utilization of personal information have given rise to profound concerns regarding privacy. From a legislative and policy perspective, and in alignment with the concept of privacy as control, users have the right to control their personal privacy information. However, users often encounter challenges in terms of understanding and effectively managing their privacy settings to align with their specific privacy requirements. To address this issue, in this paper, we incorporate the concept of trust and propose a trust-based personalized differential privacy model for online social networks, denoted as TPDP, which relies on a trusted central server to facilitate its operation. Specifically, when a user requests access to another user's personal information, the TPDP mechanism provides a privacy response, where the privacy level is determined based on the direct and indirect trust values among users, calculated automatically by the trusted central server. Furthermore, the proposed TPDP model offers user-to-user personalized differential privacy protection from the perspectives of network structures, trust-related factors, and trust propagation patterns. Finally, we validate the model's feasibility and assess the privacy-utility trade-off, as well as its robustness against attacks, through theoretical analysis and performance evaluation. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Accurate and efficient 3D object detection in LiDAR point cloud is critical for autonomous driving. In this paper, we provide a solution for LiDAR-only detection which employs voxel features and a sparse convolution network. Specifically, we utilized voxel centers to encode point clouds' voxel features. Then, combining the sparse convolution method, we leveraged residual learning to design the backbone network. The detector output predicted results for multi-category and multi-object detection. Our method was evaluated on three popular and challenging datasets (KITTI, nuScence and Waymo). Experimental results demonstrated that the accuracy and speed (27.8 FPS) of our model could effectively support object detection for autonomous driving in various scenarios. © 2022 IEEE.

With a steady increase in the adoption of cloud storage systems, the client’s data are at risk of being leaked. There are several methods of encrypting data which are quite useful but they lack some of the features of today’s sophisticated threats. The methodology used in this research propose an encryption framework known as Obfuscrypt to improve the issues of data privacy as well as confidentiality of data stored in cloud storage systems. Obfuscrypt uses conventional encryption strategies incorporated with obfuscation and post-quantum cryptographic algorithms to provide a complex security plan immune to classic and quantum approaches. Some of the proposed other innovations include the decentralised key management with multi-factor authentication and RBAC-ABE as the fine-grained access control techniques. These features make it possible for only the authorized personnel to be in a position to be in a position of decrypting and retrieving the stored data thereby minimizing the possibility of the data being accessed by unauthorized people. The work also considers the issue of performance efficiency of the cloud storage systems. Similar to other symmetric encryption programs, Obfuscrypt uses light encryption algorithms and brings in to play the hardware acceleration so that it may infuse lesser computational overhead in the process of encryption and decryption. As can be clearly seen from the results, the actual work proves that the proposed framework not only offers a higher level of security but does not affect the system performance to a great extent. Also, the study addresses the post-quantum cryptographic algorithm for making the system resistant to an attack that can be posed by quantum computing systems. With the help of these improved algorithms, Obfuscrypt guarantees the permanent data security in the world of constantly emerging cyber threats.

Students' stress levels have a significant impact on their academic performance in higher education, thus it's important to identify signs of stress early on and intervene to improve academic performance. Machine learning has evolved into a powerful tool for stress prediction, allowing for proactive support of at-risk youngsters. In order to better anticipate college students' stress levels, this study presents an enhanced TriBranch CNN framework. In order to provide the best possible performance, the technique includes data preparation, feature extraction, and model training. The dimensionality and redundancy are reduced using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). After being trained and tested against other models, the Fully Conditional Temporal Bayesian Network (Fully CTBN) outperformed them all with an accuracy of 93.29%, beating both traditional CNN and FCN approaches. These findings demonstrate that the Fully CTBN approach is useful for identifying students who may be struggling academically and providing schools with the information they need to implement data-driven interventions that boost student well-being and performance. © 2025 IEEE.

Multi-View Incongruity Learning for Multimodal Sarcasm Detection

Multimodal sarcasm detection (MSD) is essential for various downstream tasks. Existing MSD methods tend to rely on spurious correlations. These methods often mistakenly prioritize non-essential features yet still make correct predictions, demonstrating poor generalizability beyond training environments. Regarding this phenomenon, this paper undertakes several initiatives. Firstly, we identify two primary causes that lead to the reliance of spurious correlations. Secondly, we address these challenges by proposing a novel method that integrate Multimodal Incongruities via Contrastive Learning (MICL) for multimodal sarcasm detection. Specifically, we first leverage incongruity to drive multi-view learning from three views: token-patch, entity-object, and sentiment. Then, we introduce extensive data augmentation to mitigate the biased learning of the textual modality. Additionally, we construct a test set, SPMSD, which consists potential spurious correlations to evaluate the the model’s generalizability. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of MICL on benchmark datasets, along with the analyses showcasing MICL’s advancement in mitigating the effect of spurious correlation. Modality Decoupling is All You Need: A Simple Solution for Unsupervised Hyperspectral Image Fusion

Hyperspectral Image Fusion (HIF) aims to fuse low-resolution hyperspectral images (LR-HSIs) and high-resolution multispectral images (HR-MSIs) to reconstruct high spatial and high spectral resolution images. Current methods typically apply direct fusion from the two modalities without valid supervision, failing to fully perceive the deep modality-complementary information and hence, resulting in a superficial understanding of inter-modality connections. To bridge this gap, we propose a simple and effective solution for unsupervised HIF with an assumption that modality decoupling is essential for HIF. We introduce the modality clustering loss that ensures clear guidance of the modality, decoupling towards modality-shared features while steering clear of modality-complementary ones. Also, we propose an end-to-end Modality-Decoupled Spatial-Spectral Fusion (MossFuse) framework that decouples shared and complementary information across modalities and aggregates a concise representation of the LR-HSI and HR-MSI to reduce the modality redundancy. Systematic experiments over multiple datasets demonstrate that our simple and effective approach consistently outperforms the existing HIF methods while requiring considerably fewer parameters with reduced inference time. Compared with convolutional neural network(CNN),Transformer can obtain global receptive field features more effectively and has recently achieved great success in natural language processing and computer *** to the particularity of steganography,however,almost all existing steganalytic networks just employ CNN with local receptive fields to detect embedding *** this paper,we propose a novel convolutional Transformer network for color image ***,we firstly obtain various image residuals for each color channel of an input image in the pre-processing *** capture more comprehensive steganalytic features,the truncated residuals after channel concatenation will pass through a feature extraction module composed of a CNN group and a Transformer *** CNN group aims to extract local receptive fields features,while the Transformer group with multi-head self-attention as the key tries to extract global steganalytic ***,we employ a global covariance pooling(GCP)and two fully-connected(FC)layers with dropout for *** comparative experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can significantly improve the detection performances in color image steganalysis and achieve state-of-the-art *** the proposed method is originally designed for color images,it can also obtain competitive results for grayscale images compared with the current best *** addition,we provide numerous ablation studies to verify the rationality of the proposed network architecture.

Human facial action units (AUs) are mutually related in a hierarchical manner, as not only they are associated with each other in both spatial and temporal domains but also AUs located in the same/close facial regions show stronger relationships than those of different facial regions. While none of existing approach thoroughly model such hierarchical inter-dependencies among AUs, this paper proposes to comprehensively model multi-scale AU-related dynamic and hierarchical spatio-temporal relationship among AUs for their occurrences recognition. Specifically, we first propose a novel multi-scale temporal differencing network with an adaptive weighting block to explicitly capture facial dynamics across frames at different spatial scales, which specifically considers the heterogeneity of range and magnitude in different AUs’ activation. Then, a two-stage strategy is introduced to hierarchically model the relationship among AUs based on their spatial distribution (i.e., local and cross-region AU relationship modelling). Experimental results achieved on BP4D and DISFA show that our approach is the new state-of-the-art in the field of AU occurrence recognition. As artificial intelligence techniques evolve, we are approaching a critical moment for the widespread deployment of autonomous vehicles. Subsequently, the emergence of mixed-autonomy traffic environments presents formidable challenges to autonomous vehicles, especially for the accurate prediction of lane change intentions of their surrounding human-driven vehicles, which is crucial for ensuring the safety of autonomous vehicles. Existing lane change prediction models mainly focus on capturing the temporal variations in the movement dynamics of individual vehicles. However, the neglect to consider inter-vehicle interactions hinders their capability in complex lane change scenarios, resulting in suboptimal prediction performance. Moreover, current interaction-aware approaches for autonomous driving fail to explicitly model future interactions between vehicles, leading to unreasonable prediction results that can cause collisions between vehicles. To address the above issues, we propose to incorporate the concept of perceived safety into future interaction modeling and design a dual-view interaction-aware lane change prediction model. We evaluate the proposed model on two real-world datasets and experimental results show that the proposed model achieves average improvements of 11.7-12.4% in classification ability and 75.6-95.7% in forecast ability over the best-performing baselines across the two datasets. The ablation study and investigation into future interaction modeling demonstrate that our model has advantages in interpreting lane change scenarios from a driving safety perspective.
