Due to the fact that a memristor with memory properties is an ideal electronic component for implementation of the artificial neural synaptic function,a brand-new tristable locally active memristor model is first proposed in this ***,a novel four-dimensional fractional-order memristive cellular neural network(FO-MCNN)model with hidden attractors is constructed to enhance the engineering feasibility of the original CNN model and its ***,its hardware circuit implementation and complicated dynamic properties are investigated on multi-simulation ***,it is used toward secure communication application *** it as the pseudo-random number generator(PRNG),a new privacy image security scheme is designed based on the adaptive sampling rate compressive sensing(ASR-CS)***,the simulation analysis and comparative experiments manifest that the proposed data encryption scheme possesses strong immunity against various security attack models and satisfactory compression performance.

Recognising protein complexes in protein interaction networks is crucial, but poses a major challenge due to the frequency of noisy interactions. These networks typically involve numerous protein complexes, with each protein generally only participating in a few complexes. Current recognition models often ignore this aspect. To address this problem, we present a semi-supervised protein complex identification algorithm that extends non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) with sparsity constraints. In contrast to conventional approaches that apply a global sparsity constraint to the entire matrix, our method imposes individual sparsity constraints on protein membership indicator vectors. This targeted strategy controls the algorithm more effectively. Our experimental results with yeast and human protein interaction networks show that our algorithm achieves higher accuracy in identifying protein complexes than leading contemporary methods. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

It is a challenging task to teach machines to paint like human artists in a stroke-by-stroke *** advances in stroke-based image rendering and deep learning-based image rendering,existing painting methods have limitations:they(i)lack flexibility to choose different art-style strokes,(ii)lose content details of images,and(iii)generate few artistic styles for *** this paper,we propose a stroke-style generative adversarial network,called Stroke-GAN,to solve the first two ***-GAN learns styles of strokes from different stroke-style datasets,so can produce diverse stroke *** design three players in Stroke-GAN to generate pure-color strokes close to human artists’strokes,thereby improving the quality of painted *** overcome the third limitation,we have devised a neural network named Stroke-GAN Painter,based on Stroke-GAN;it can generate different artistic styles of *** demonstrate that our artful painter can generate various styles of paintings while well-preserving content details(such as details of human faces and building textures)and retaining high fidelity to the input images.

Autonomous vehicles, commonly referred to as self- driving vehicles, have the capability to operate and perform necessary functions without the need for human intervention. This is made possible with advanced technologies such as cameras, ultrasonic and infrared sensors, INS, GPS, DSRC, RADAR, LiDAR, and onboard computers, which work together to map the vehicle's position and surroundings. However, because these technologies are easily susceptible to manipulation, autonomous vehicles are at risk of cyber-attacks if hackers succeed to find vulnerabilities in the vehicle's system or in the electronic system of the company producing the vehicle. This study aims to investigate how machine learning and deep learning methods can be utilized to improve the defence against cyber threats aimed at autonomous vehicles by analysing several computational algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

Enhancing pre-trained models for text summarization: a multi-objective genetic algorithm optimization approach

Pre-trained language models have significantly advanced text summarization by leveraging extensive pre-training data to enhance performance. Many cutting-edge models undergo an initial pre-training phase on a large corpus before being fine-tuned specifically for text summarization tasks. The challenge arises when the limited data available for these summarization tasks and the high complexity of the models lead to aggressive fine-tuning, which can cause the models to over fit the training data and fail to generalize well to new, unseen data. To address these challenges, the study proposes a multi-objective based Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) approach for optimizing pre-trained models for summarization The proposed approach first compares the performance of various pre-trained models by fine-tuning them with the CNN/Daily Mail dataset. Secondly, the proposed Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) is applied to all validated pre-trained models and compared using a statistical approach. Experimental results reveal that Pre-training with Extracted Gap-sentences for Abstractive Summarization Sequence-to-sequence (PEGASUS) model performs best among the pre-trained models. Further optimization with the proposed MOGA method yields even better results, with the optimized model achieving a Recall-Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation) ROUGE-1 score of 0.514, a ROUGE-2 score of 0.4, and a ROUGE-L score of 0.5. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Social behavior prediction on social media is attracting significant attention from researchers. Social e-commerce focuses on engagement marketing, which emphasizes social behavior because it effectively increases brand recognition. Currently, existing works on social behavior prediction suffer from two main problems: 1) they assume that social influence probabilities can be learned independently of each other, and their calculations do not include any influence probability estimations based on friends' behavior;and 2) negative sampling of subgraphs is usually ignored in social behavior prediction work. To the best of our knowledge, introducing graph contrastive learning (GCL) to social behavior prediction is novel and interesting. In this article, we propose a framework, social behavior prediction via graph contrastive learning with attention named SBP-GCA, to promote social behavior prediction. First, two methods are designed to extract subgraphs from the original graph, and their structural features are learned by GCL. Then, it models how a user's behavior is influenced by neighbors and learns influence features via graph attention networks (GATs). Furthermore, it combines structural features, influence features, and intrinsic features to predict social behavior. Extensive and systematic experiments on three datasets validate the superiority of the proposed SBP-GCA. © 2020 IEEE.

The accurate prediction of the State of Health (SOH) of lithium-ion batteries is critical for the health monitoring and cost-effective operation of electric vehicles (EV) and energy storage systems. Current methods for SOH estimation, such as the ohmic resistance and capacity comparison methods, face limitations in real-time applications due to varying operating conditions and extensive computational requirements. To address the above research gaps, this research aims to develop a method that can more accurately classify battery health features and more reliably estimate SOH in a real-time manner. The proposed method utilizes K-means clustering to group similar battery health features, which serve as the foundation for the LightGBM model to make accurate and robust estimations. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly outperforms traditional algorithms in terms of accuracy in estimating the SOH. By offering a more precise and reliable tool for battery health monitoring, this research contributes to more effective battery management systems, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and lifespan of lithium-ion batteries. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep ensemble model for skin cancer classification with improved feature set

Early identification of skin cancer is mandatory to minimize the worldwide death rate as this disease is covering more than 30% of mortality rates in young and adults. Researchers are in the move of proposing advanced models for the accurate classification of skin disease. This paper introduces a novel skin cancer detection model under the stages of preprocessing, feature extraction, classification as well as segmentation. The given input is first preprocessed via Gaussian filtering. Subsequently, the Deep learning model termed as ‘U-net’ is used for the segmentation process. Afterward, the extraction of the feature set including features like Improved Center symmetric Local Binary Pattern (ICS-LBP), Local Gradient Pattern (LGP), Median binary pattern (MBP) is performed. Classification takes place using Deep Ensemble Model based on the extracted features, that includes BiGRU, Deep Maxout, and Improved Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), respectively. Also, as the hyperparameter tuning of the classification model enhances the performance, this work introduces a new Hybrid Atom and Arithmetic Operation Algorithm (HAAOA) algorithm for tuning the optimal weights of the Bi-GRU (Bi-directional Gated Recurrent Unit) and Deep Maxout model. At last, the validation of the proposed work is performed through different performance measures by comparing it with different algorithms. Accordingly, accuracy of the adopted method at 90th learning percentage is 93.56%, which is (~) 82.63%, 85.15%, 84.98%, 83.66% and 83.42% better than AOA, ASO, BWO, BMO and DO, respectively. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

One of the most prevalent types of cancer is skin cancer and millions of people suffer from it across the globe with melanoma being the most dangerous type if not treated at an early stage. Accurate and timely diagnosis is crucial in the management of skin cancer but traditional diagnosis methods like dermoscopy, is largely dependent on the skills of qualified dermatologists which makes it subjective and susceptible to variation among observers. In this sense, deep learning and machine learning approaches have a lot of potential in automating skin cancer classification and enhancing its accuracy for better early intervention and patient outcomes. This paper presents the analysis of the performance of several models, i.e., CNN + Random Forest, DenseNet201, MobileNetV2 and ConvoMixer + CatBoost on HAM10000, ISIC and PAD-UFES-20 datasets. The experimental results indicate that DenseNet201 achieved an accuracy of 91.8%, MobileNetV2 reached 87%, and the combination of ConvoMixer and CatBoost obtained 66% However, the CNN + RF model outperformed all of the other models achieving 96% accuracy revealing the effectiveness of hybrid approaches for skin cancer classification on a reliable and scalable manner. Future work could include investigating transformer-based models, such as Vision Transformers (Suns et al.) and Swin Transformers (Liao et al.), which are able to allow better global context within the data. Also federated learning may be used to enable the use of multi institutional databases without compromising the privacy of patients. In addition, self supervised learning approaches could also help alleviate the reliance in a substantial amount of annotated datasets thereby increasing accuracy and robustness in practical and clinical situations. © 2025 IEEE.
