This paper evaluates the performance of the Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) and the Software-Defined WIreless SEnsor network (SDN-WISE) approach in a IPv6 over Low-Power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN) network scenario. In this network scenario a mobile sink acting as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is used for data collection in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). A novel methodology is presented for generating efficient paths for the mobile UAV sink. It involves leveraging the K means clustering algorithm for finding the centroids which can cover the sensors within the transmission range. The Ant Colony Optimization technique is then used for traversing the centroids to solve the Travelling Salesmen problem (TSP). Key performance metrics such as average end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption are analysed under varying conditions and sensor node densities. The study provides valuable insights into optimising UAV-assisted WSNs for enhanced performance and longevity in real-world applications. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

The recent world advancement in technology especially in the use of IoT devices has posed some serious complications in terms of how effectively we can convey data, this is normally a result of the limited bandwidth and power capacity. In this paper, we look into the need for efficient data compression in IoT devices and come up with a new approach to compress the data stream needed for IoT sensors. In this paper, we propose to integrate Dynamic Huffman Coding with Run Length Encoding smoothly as one novel network coding strategy to decrease the load carried by the communication channels and at the same time ensure the originality of the transmitted data. The proposed method is based on the use of RLE to remove a lot of redundant data and dynamic Huffman coding for further data compression. When compared with other central algorithms like dynamic Huffman, static Huffman, RLE, LZW, ZLIB, LZMA, and BZ2 this hybrid approach provided more efficient compression ratios and consumed less power. Compression can be considered an essential paradigm for IoT devices because it can minimize the restrictions associated with the prevention of limited bandwidths and power sources that are characteristic of such devices, which results in improved data sending and a longer lifespan of devices. As substantiated by the findings from our experiments, this approach holds a high degree of effectiveness and, therefore, is suitable for the IoT domain with a scarcity of resources in particular. The contributions of this research support the promotion of compression strategies while considering the IoT-specific needs thus enhancing standard system outcomes and durability. © 2024 IEEE.

The ambitious task of implementing the popular Temple Run game in a new approach that is used to create a version of the Temple Run game that is represented in Non-Deterministic Finite Automata (NFA) and Deterministic Finite Automata (DFA). Temple Run, celebrated for its dynamic gameplay and constantly changing obstacles, offers an ideal platform for these automata models in gaming mechanics. The initiative focuses on using Non-Deterministic Finite Automata to generate diverse and evolving pathways within the game environment, ensuring players encounter a variety of challenges and opportunities. Conversely, Deterministic Finite Automata will regulate the behavior of in game elements like obstacles, abilities, and enemies, establishing clear rules and patterns for their movements and interactions. Through the integration of both NFA and DFA models, an immersive Temple Run experience is aimed to be created, seamlessly combining unpredictability with structured gameplay, ensuring each gaming session is both engaging and rewarding for players. © 2024 IEEE.

This study presents a comparative overview of optimization techniques that include, among others, Ant Colony Optimization, Firefly Algorithm, Bat Algorithm, Bee Colony Optimization, Q-learning, Dynamic Programming, and Branch and Bound Algorithm. Addressing each domain in detail, explanations will be offered for the methods described: for example, ACO's foraging behavior, Firefly's light attraction, Bat's echolocation, and BCO's collaborative approach. The Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) is treated with the DP algorithm and Branch and Bound. Different tests in each algorithm are made, and their efficiency and weaknesses are approximated to guide the selection of a proper approach to be used in future optimizations. This research highlights the strengths and drawbacks of each method, thus enhancing the understanding of how these optimization techniques operate in various fields and contributing to the informed selection of algorithms for specific problems. The results provide practical insights and suggest directions for further improvement and application in real-world scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

In the food sector, ensuring the safety and quality of banana products is crucial. The classification of bananas into "fresh banana" and "rotten banana" categories is the main objective of this study. The studied banana varieties are cavendish, lady fingers, and red bananas. We use the VGG16 deep convolutional neural network with a dataset of high-resolution banana images. Our method includes training-testing ratios, picture enhancement, and rigorous data preprocessing. The results indicate how well the VGG16 model performs in classifying freshness, with good recall, accuracy, precision, and F1-score. Additionally, the model successfully differentiates between cavendish, lady finger, and red bananas, highlighting its capacity to handle minute variations. This work expands the application of image classification to other fruit varieties by offering a dependable technique for quality control and automated evaluation of banana freshness. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Real world applications of data structures is enormous. Queues, stacks, trees, and graphs are commonly applied and implemented across various fields. To improve the efficiency of such implementations, optimisation through the underlying data structure can be considered. Computer networks inherently are based on graphs with communicating systems as nodes and communication channels as edges. Information flows between the communicating systems through the communication channel. To detect suspicious connections and information flow, an optimal graph structure is implemented by modelling the information flow as edges, and retaining the communicating systems as nodes. Graph analytics is performed to capture graphical relationships, and the final graph structure is formed with the features of the information flow split into node features and edge features. Then this graph structure is passed to Graph Neural Networks (GNN) that captures hidden relationships of the graph, and transforms these graph features in such a way that basic Machine Learning models like k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Classifier (SVC), and Random Forest can train themselves and model into better anomalous connection classifiers. Eleven baseline models are trained using the traditional way, and using GNN transformed embeddings, and their performances are observed. Testing shows that all models show an improvement in the evaluatory scores. Finally, a logic is provided to build an attack sequence graph to track the route in which the attack spreads among infected systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Session management is the underlying security mechanism that is instrumental in protecting the security and integrity of web applications' user sessions. The research is dedicated to the examination of session administration solutions in web applications to provide secure user sessions and minimize the risks of session hijacking and session fixation. It touches on session management before and after user login, breaking it down into session maintenance. The custom session handler offers passive protection against session hijacking via session management using a MySQL database. This approach provides a safe way of creating and managing sessions, validating them as well as handling session expiration and performance optimization. The implementation intends to strengthen session securities of users, therefore, increasing the safety and reliableness of web applications © 2024 IEEE.

Smart grid (SG) is an advanced framework for controlling computers, automation, new technologies, and smart equipment that is more efficient and dependable. Smart grid possesses advanced self-healing capabilities and enables electricity customers to become active participants. Both security and privacy are two very important attributes of SG communication. The proposed model is efficient for communication between smart grids which uses a privacy-preserving aggregation mechanism. The model structure uses super increasing sequences to organize data and then encrypts it using the homomorphic Paillier approach. Data aggregation is done directly on cipher at local gateways without following any decryption for data transfers from users to smart grid operation center. The aggregate outcome of the source data may be accessed at the operation center that saves time. Finally, our findings demonstrate that the proposed method supports batch verification that makes it cost-effective in terms of computing and communication as compared to existing architectures. The proposed design is fast symmetric encryption, and it is suitable for massive user groups, and it can be adopted to support the flexible and rapid growth of residential scales in smart grids. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

MultiVI, a model for multimodal single-cell data generation, alongside an SSL contrastive learning pipeline is the foundation of this research. The combination approach promotes better learning of the structural and contextual representations of the single cell data and improve its downstream tasks like cell typing and the identification of the relationship to other variables such as genes. Here, the algorithm applies the contrastive loss function into the MultiVI training loop, which multitasking performance shows the value of the approach for forecasting one modality from another. The results evidence reveals a lot about cellular differentiation and regulation of gene expression. This work combines MultiVI, which is a generative model for multi-modal analysis of single-cell data, and a self-supervised contrastive learning approach. It helps to make precise prognoses and to explain the processes of cellular differentiation and gene regulation. The study falls under one of the biggest challenges in the biology of single cells and it stands a good chance to change how cellular biology, diagnostics of diseases included will be done. © 2024 IEEE.

The concept of a smart city is increasing because of the demand for intelligent drones. So, the Internet of Drones came into picture, providing several benefits/services for daily life. Services that IoD offers are monitoring, FANET (Flying Ad-Hoc Networks), management of any infrastructure, and IoT (Internet of Things). These services can be deployed in the smart city environment. Still, communication among drones is a significant concern. For communicating, drones use the insecure channel, and there is a risk of security threats while sending critical information. They are also prone to physical capture attacks because of their usage in an environment devoid of human beings. Regarding communication and computation, drones are resource constrained, so it is not feasible to implement public key cryptography because it requires more power to perform those actions. A recent protocol for the internet of drones is also analyzed in this article. Therefore, this article presents a lightweight authentication protocol that is reliable to the users and meets their demands.
