As continuous-flow microfluidic biochips technology rapidly advances, its automated synthesis methods require adapting to increasingly complex and stringent biochemical applications. In particular, with the introduction of time-sensitive bioassays, in this work, we present a timing-driven high-level synthesis method to optimize the resource efficiency of bioassays considering the time constraints. Specifically, we investigate the existing forms of time constraints and propose a corresponding flexible modeling approach based on reaction-control which can achieve downward compatibility for physical design. Additionally, we also analyze the impact of storage and wash on time constraints. The experimental results show that our method achieves efficient execution and low devices cost while satisfying time constraints.

The widespread adoption of emerging technologies, such as interconnected sensors and advanced automation systems, has led to rapid advancements in smart industrial environments. While industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPSs) bring efficiency and innovation to industrial processes, the security risks are also of great concern. The existing work provides many methods for data security and authentication for ICPSs. However, since the authentication status of ICPSs is changeable, the up-to-date methods can hardly meet the requirements for rapid authentication and secure data transmission. What’s more, largescale message revocation incurs significant communication and computational costs. This paper proposes a blockchain-assisted identity-based puncturable signcryption (BC-IBPSC) scheme for cloud and fog-hosted ICPSs. First, based on the concepts of puncturable encryption and signature, a novel identity-based puncturable signcryption method is presented to achieve efficient verifiable data encryption. Second, the blockchain is utilized to record all valid and punctured messages, to achieve evidence storage and traceability. The results of the analysis indicate that the scheme ensures security and operates efficiently. In addition, experiments show that the size of the signcrypted files does not affect the value of Gas consumption on the blockchain when uploading proofs. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

A precise and durable health management strategy for battery power systems is crucial to maintaining the reliable operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs).This paper introduces an adaptive Decay Regularized Stochastic Configuration Networks(DRSCN) with Multi-level data processing for UAVs Battery Remaining Useful Life(RUL) Prediction. Firstly, a Multi source Signal Enhancement Analysis Framework (MSEAF) is effectively presented to criticalbattery health indicators from complex signals. Moreover, a significant innovation is enhancing the SCN model’s output layer, which introduces Decay Regularization to sparsify the layer’s weights, significantly reducing the risk of overfitting in later prediction stages. To further re fine and optimize DRSCN, a Convex Lens and Dual-Mechanism Enhanced Sand Cat Swarm Optimization (CLDM-SCSO) algorithm is employed for precise hyperparameter tuning, fur ther improving prediction accuracy. Finally, extensive control and ablation experiments on the NASA HIRF battery dataset validate the framework’s superior prediction accuracy and relia bility over existing methods, offering an efficient and reliable UAV battery health monitoring solution. © 2024, The Authors. Container based microservices have been widely applied to promote the cloud elasticity. The mainstream Docker containers are structured in layers, which are organized in stack with bottom-up dependency. To start a microservice, the required layers are pulled from a remote registry and stored on its host server, following the layer dependency order. This incurs long microservice startup time and hinders the performance efficiency. In this paper, we discover that, for the first time, the layer pulling order can be adjusted to accelerate the microservice startup. Specifically, we address the problem on microservice layer pulling orchestration for startup time minimization and prove it as NP-hard. We propose a Longest-chain based Out-of-order layer Pulling Orchestration (LOPO) strategy with low computational complexity and guaranteed approximation ratio. Through extensive real-world trace driven experiments, we verify the efficiency of our LOPO and demonstrate that it reduces the microservice startup time by 22.71% on average in comparison with state-of-the-art solutions.

From a strategic perspective, the pitch's state and the wind's direction are the most important factors in cricket. In this paper, an innovative method that uses the IoT to report the state of the pitch and the weather in real time is presented. The system gives updates on the state of the field and the weather continuously. The device can gather data on the pitch's hardness and humidity using sensors strategically placed around the field. It may also record information about the weather, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and cloud cover. Cricket teams and players can have a deep understanding of the present playing conditions based on the real-time transmission and analysis. Teams may improve their results by making data-driven adjustments to their strategies and lineups. Teams may also be able to make more educated decisions on their approaches to batting, bowling, and fielding. The technology has the potential to alter the game's dynamics while also increasing audience participation by shedding light on cricket's many nuanced aspects.

DEGSTalk: Decomposed Per-Embedding Gaussian Fields for Hair-Preserving Talking Face Synthesis

Accurately synthesizing talking face videos and capturing fine facial features for individuals with long hair presents a significant challenge. To tackle these challenges in existing methods, we propose a decomposed per-embedding Gaussian fields (DEGSTalk), a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based talking face synthesis method for generating realistic talking faces with long hairs. Our DEGSTalk employs Deformable Pre-Embedding Gaussian Fields, which dynamically adjust pre-embedding Gaussian primitives using implicit expression coefficients. This enables precise capture of dynamic facial regions and subtle expressions. Additionally, we propose a Dynamic Hair-Preserving Portrait Rendering technique to enhance the realism of long hair motions in the synthesized videos. Results show that DEGSTalk achieves improved realism and synthesis quality compared to existing approaches, particularly in handling complex facial dynamics and hair preservation. For efficient and high-fidelity local facial attribute editing, most existing editing methods either require additional finetuning for different editing effects or tend to affect beyond the editing regions. Alternatively, inpainting methods can edit the target image region while preserving external areas. However, current inpainting methods still suffer from the generation misalignment with facial attributes description and the loss of facial skin details. To address these challenges, (i) a novel data utilization strategy is introduced to construct datasets consisting of attribute-text-image triples from a data-driven perspective, (ii) a Causality-Aware Condition Adapter is proposed to enhance the contextual causality modeling of specific details, which encodes the skin details from the original image while preventing conflicts between these cues and textual conditions. In addition, a Skin Transition Frequency Guidance technique is introduced for the local modeling of contextual causality via sampling guidance driven by low-frequency alignment. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in boosting both fidelity and editability for localized attribute editing. This paper presents an interactive motion control method based on reinforcement learning, designed to assist children with autism who have social motor impairments through a mirror game intervention. The virtual teacher uses the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) algorithm to optimize its actions, guiding the participant to follow a Lissajous trajectory. To ensure safety, a motion-correction mechanism was developed, which automatically adjusts actions when the predicted trajectory surpasses predefined safety boundaries. The reward function considers both the distance between the virtual teacher and the target trajectory, as well as the distance between the virtual teacher and the participant, with dynamic adjustments applied by the motion-correction mechanism. Experimental results demonstrate that the virtual teacher effectively guides the participant towards the target trajectory while adhering to safety constraints. © 2025 IEEE.

data quality plays a vital role in image pre-processing for machine learning applications. The effectiveness of building accurate and reliable models lies in the high-quality of data. Prioritizing data quality in the initial stages of the image pre-processing pipeline lays a strong foundation for subsequent machine learning stages. Therefore, this research aims to identify the appropriate steps for image pre-processing and compare the performance of machine learning model based on different pre-processing approaches. In this study, we utilized a plant diseases dataset sourced from Kaggle, comprising approximately 87,000 RGB images of both healthy and diseased crop leaves, categorized into 38 distinct classes. To significantly enhance the image quality, we implemented a range of transformation techniques, including resizing, normalization, data augmentation, and cropping. The analysis clearly indicates that implementing comprehensive pre-processing techniques enhances data quality and improves the machine learning model’s classification performance.
