The annotation of Open Reading Frames (ORFs) is a crucial step in gene annotation, as it precisely delineates the specific regions of expressed genes. However, small Open Reading Frames (smORFs), in comparison to ORFs, are shorter in length, exhibit lower expression abundance, and are more challenging to predict. Particularly in the presence of noise in prokaryotic data and limited availability of positive sample data, the difficulty of prediction is amplified. Therefore, it is necessary to study smORF prediction methods. However, current machine learning models use limited data for modeling and overlook the existence of undiscovered positive samples within the negative samples. Additionally, they do not incorporate prior knowledge that can be calibrated to enhance the 3-nt periodicity. This work utilizes a multimodal VAE for data dimensionality reduction and employs a GAN to generate latent vectors for data augmentation. It incorporates PU learning to leverage unknown samples and combines Riboseq data from experiments with and without antibiotic treatment. Additionally, an adversarial training mechanism is employed to enhance the model's robustness. © 2023 IEEE.

From a strategic perspective, the pitch's state and the wind's direction are the most important factors in cricket. In this paper, an innovative method that uses the IoT to report the state of the pitch and the weather in real time is presented. The system gives updates on the state of the field and the weather continuously. The device can gather data on the pitch's hardness and humidity using sensors strategically placed around the field. It may also record information about the weather, including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and cloud cover. Cricket teams and players can have a deep understanding of the present playing conditions based on the real-time transmission and analysis. Teams may improve their results by making data-driven adjustments to their strategies and lineups. Teams may also be able to make more educated decisions on their approaches to batting, bowling, and fielding. The technology has the potential to alter the game's dynamics while also increasing audience participation by shedding light on cricket's many nuanced aspects. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an improved approach for detecting copy-move forgery based on singular value decomposition(SVD).It is a block-based method where the image is scanned from left to right and top to down by a sliding window with a determined *** each step,the SVD is ***,the diagonal matrix’s maximum value(norm)is selected(representing the scaling factor for SVD and a fixed value for each set of matrix elements even when rotating thematrix or scaled).Then,the similar norms are grouped,and each leading group is separated into many subgroups(elements of each subgroup are neighbors)according to 8-adjacency(the subgroups for each leading group must be far from others by a specific distance).After that,a weight is assigned for each subgroup to classify the image as forgery or ***,the F1 score of the proposed system is measured,reaching 99.1%.This approach is robust against rotation,scaling,noisy images,and illumination *** is compared with other similarmethods and presents very promised results.

In recent years, MRI super-resolution techniques have achieved great success, especially multi-contrast methods that extract texture information from reference images to guide the super-resolution reconstruction. However, current methods primarily focus on texture similarities at the same scale, neglecting cross-scale similarities that provide comprehensive information. Moreover, the misalignment between features of different scales impedes effective aggregation of information flow. To address the limitations, we propose a novel edge-guided and cross-scale feature fusion network, namely ECFNet. Specifically, we develop a pipeline consisting of the deformable convolution and the cross-attention transformer to align features of different scales. The cross-scale fusion strategy fully integrates the texture information from different scales, significantly enhancing the super-resolution. In addition, a novel structure information collaboration module is developed to guide the super-resolution reconstruction with implicit structure priors. The structure information enables the network to focus on high-frequency components of the image, resulting in sharper details. Extensive experiments on the IXI and BraTS2020 datasets demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance compared to other multi-contrast MRI super-resolution methods, and our method is robust in terms of different super-resolution scales. In healthcare systems, wound care management is essential for reducing infections and promoting faster recovery. To improve wound care, this paper proposes a data-driven method that combines machine learning (ML), more particularly, Logistic Regression (LR), with Internet of Things (IoT) sensors to identify early infections. The system provides real-time data streams to healthcare providers by continually monitoring important wound parameters, including temperature, moisture, pH levels, and exudate presence via IoT-enabled sensors. Using LR, the system predicts the potential of wound infections based on these physiological indicators, allowing for more effective patient care and early treatments. When tested for accuracy and dependability in infection prediction, the proposed model shows significant detection skills with few false positives. This approach optimizes clinical processes by reducing the need for manual wound examination, enhancing patient safety, and lowering the possibility of complications from infections. Wound care management might improve patient outcomes and expedite infection control measures in medical institutions. © 2024 IEEE.

Although the containers are featured by light-weightness, it is still resource-consuming to pull and startup a large container image, especially in relatively resource-constrained edge cloud. Fortunately, Docker, as the most widely used container, provides a unique layered architecture that allows the same layer to be shared between microservices so as to lower the deployment cost. Meanwhile, it is highly desirable to deploy dependent microservices of an application together to lower the operation cost. Therefore, the balancing of microservice deployment cost and the operation cost should be considered comprehensively to achieve minimal overall cost of an on-demand application. In this paper, we first formulate this problem into a Quadratic Integer Programming form (QIP) and prove it as a NP-hard problem. We further propose a Randomized Rounding-based Microservice Deployment and Layer Pulling (RR-MDLP) algorithm with low computation complexity and guaranteed approximation ratio. Through extensive experiments, we verify the high efficiency of our algorithm by the fact that it significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art microservice deployment strategies. © 2023 IEEE.

One of the most significant contributors to morbidity in the global population is the ability to forecast a heart attack. Clinical data analysis is considered one of the most significant aspects for making a forecast, and that aspect is cardiovascular illness, a highly important disease. This can be a very useful tool. Using ML to its full potential, this investigation aims to achieve improved accuracy in diagnosing cardiac disease. In this research, we provide a machine knowledge heart attack diagnosis (MLHAP) technique that involves the study of different risk indicators, and prediction for heart attacks is carried out via ML methodologies, including Support Vector Machines, Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes, Knn, and XGBoost. In this method, the ML-HAP method predicts heart attacks. This approach aims to reduce the mortality rate from heart attacks. The forecast has been optimized as much as possible based on many parameters, which has been the primary focus. KNN, with its parameters optimized, made the most accurate prediction of any of the algorithms. The accuracy obtained using KNN Optimization is 85.24, while the accuracy obtained using Logistic Regression is 78.68. The prediction made by machine learning models for recognizing the signs of a heart attack is extremely effective, particularly when using boosting algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

With the proliferation of data-intensive industrial applications, the collaboration of computing powers among standalone edge servers is vital to provision such services for smart devices. In this paper, we propose an edge-driven industrial computing power network (CPN) by orchestrating the computing and network resources of edge servers through the centralized resource scheduling and decentralized task computing. However, efficient task offloading and collaborative processing is challenging, which requires higher degrees of network automation and intelligence. Therefore, we incorporate digital twins (DTs) into the edge-driven CPN architecture, where the DTs are created as the digital replicas to assist both the computation offloading and collaborative processing. A joint optimization problem of the computing power assignment, service association, task partition, and transmit power control is formulated for maximizing the system average weighted utility. Due to the temporal-spatial variability of tasks and the resulted dynamic environment, we transform the original problem as a Markov decision process aiming at maximizing the long-term average weighted utility. To efficiently handle the high-dimensional discrete-continuous action space, a hybrid soft actor-critic based deep reinforcement learning algorithm is developed for optimizing the joint design. Simulation results validate the superiority of our proposed algorithm over the benchmarks, showing the significant gains obtained by integrating DTs into the edge-driven CPN. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

The DR becomes increasingly common, there is a need to automatically extract and classify disease severity. Due to diabetes problems, about 2% of people with this disease become completely blind, and DR complications make him 10% visually impaired if he has diabetes for 15 years. Furthermore, it plays an important role in the progression of blindness in middle-aged and older adults. If the disease is not recognized as soon as possible, patients can experience a severe stage of irreversible blindness. The shortage of ophthalmologists is a serious problem for the growing number of diabetic patients. Hard exudates must be found to screen and assist in disease monitoring and diagnosis. Therefore, Lloyd's clustering technique was used in this work. © 2023 IEEE.
