Insect fine-grained image classification is an application scenario in fine-grained image classification. It not only has the characteristics of small inter-class differences and large intra-class differences, but also has the difficulty that some categories have multiple life-stage forms, which makes the general fine-grained image classification model difficult to play a role in insect scenes. To this end, based on the Vision Transformer, we design a fine-grained classification network for insect images based on abnormal clustering and cross slicing, called ACCS-Trans. In the first stage of the model, we use segmentation and clustering operations to distinguish the special morphology of insects in those few-shot life stages. The model can avoid the interference of few-sample abnormal morphology on the class feature extraction of the current class during training. The second stage is the cross slicing module, which uses the anchor box of the image sample segmentation region in the first stage to cut the original sample image to form the main target image, which is used as the information supplement area of the original image. Finally, the image is divided into doubling patch groups by two vertical patch operations. In the third stage, we concatenate the multiplication patch group and input it into the Vision Transformer network for class feature extraction. We fully experiment with ACCS-Trans on two insect image datasets. Compared with the current mainstream fine-grained image classification models, ACCS- Trans achieves state-of-the-art effects on both datasets, and we do ablation experiments for each module. The effect of each module on our ACCS- Trans is analyzed. The excellent performance of our ACCS- Trans in insect scenes is verified in these experiments, these provide new ideas for the task of fine-grained classification of insect images.

Beyond traditional binary relational facts, n-ary relational knowledge graphs (NKGs) are comprised of n-ary relational facts containing more than two entities, which are closer to real-world facts with broader applications. However, the construction of NKGs remains at a coarse-grained level, which is always in a single schema, ignoring the order and variable arity of entities. To address these restrictions, we propose Text2NKG, a novel fine-grained n-ary relation extraction framework for n-ary relational knowledge graph construction. We introduce a span-tuple classification approach with hetero-ordered merging and output merging to accomplish fine-grained n-ary relation extraction in different arity. Furthermore, Text2NKG supports four typical NKG schemas: hyper-relational schema, event-based schema, role-based schema, and hypergraph-based schema, with high flexibility and practicality. The experimental results demonstrate that Text2NKG achieves state-of-the-art performance in F1 scores on the fine-grained n-ary relation extraction benchmark. Accurate brain tumor prediction is essential when approaching the field of health care;wherever accuracy in decision-making is crucial, the issues also need to be resolved right away. Many artificial intelligence and machine learning-based techniques have been developed in the last couple of years in the field of healthcare. The intention of this work is to create an algorithm that combines the features of Crow Search (CS) and Interval Type-II Fuzzy Logic System (IT2FLS) algorithms to distinguish the area of tumor from complex brain tissues. The ability of oncologists to make decisions is critical for any therapy sequence to be successful, and the methodology proposed in the research work considerably influences a conclusion through technology interruption. The suggested approach is flexible enough to work with a diversity of image sequences found in the BRATS Challenge 2020 dataset that presents varying degrees of obstacles, challenges, and difficulties in locating the anomalous regions, and it produces improved demarcation results that have been instinctively evaluated and supported by Dice score (98 ± 1.3), specificity (98 ± 1.4), and sensitivity (98 ± 1.7) as average metrics. The motive of this study is the enhancement of the visual perception of oncologists, which gives them improved insight into and comprehension of the condition of the patient. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) is the standard treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). With the development of artificial intelligence, an increasing number of studies have begun to explore its application in cancer treatment prediction. However, the prior methods exhibit considerable variability even with slight modifications to the input data, which could potentially undermine the reliability of the results. In this paper, we proposed RP-Net, a novel multi-modal fusion-based framework that combines feature information from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and whole slide images (WSI), establishing a relationship to map the therapeutic effectiveness of nCRT for LARC. We investigated the relationship of the tumour region and its periphery tissues, and demonstrated the validity of the proposed framework that involving 11 different combinations of modalities. The experimental results revealed that it has achieved higher prediction accuracy compared to the four intra-categories single-modal combinations and outperformed the two intra-categories multi-modal combinations. When compared to the other four inter-categories multi-modal combinations, the fusion features get accuracy of 2% ∼ 6% improvement respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid growth of smart manufacturing and digital technology, it is possible to apply digital twin to structural health monitoring of track. It is difficult to monitor overall perception of the track using traditional sensors and methods with unclear information and low disposal efficiency. Digital twin technology is adopted to real time health data monitoring of track where 3D digital model of track is built on the monitoring terminal. Flexible multi-functional sensors laminated onto the rail waist are used to collect temperature, humidity, stress sensing data of track, which are seen as an interface from actual track to digital track. The visualization sensing data of digital track could be changed simultaneously when the healthy data from the actual track is changed. The sensing position in the 3D digital track is the same to the actual track for precision sensing as the unification of sensor sensing data and spatial scene of digital track. Visualization of digital track with flexible multi-functional sensors could achieve the actual sensing data of track, which has great potential to structural health monitoring of track for the safety evaluation of intelligent transportation system. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Basketball is a prominent team sport played on a rectangular court between two teams of five players each. The goal is to shoot the ball through the defender's hoop, which is high on a backboard at each end of the court, while stopping the other team from shooting through its own hoop. Predicting how sports will turn out is an interesting sports analytics problem because it gives valuable data for running the sports market. In this work, data from NBA (National Basketball Association) basketball teams is analyzed, and a machine learning model is made that uses advanced statistical measures and performance data to evaluate and predict the winning percentage of different teams. Voting Regression is used to put together algorithms like Random Forest, Decision Trees, Linear Regression, Gaussian Regression, and Gradient Boosting into a single unit that can predict a team's win percentage over the course of a season with 93.3% accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

This study investigated the predictive ability of ten different machine learning (ML) models for diabetes using a dataset that was not evenly distributed. Additionally, the study evaluated the effectiveness of two oversampling and undersampling methods, namely the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) and the Near-Miss algorithm. Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques were employed to enhance the interpretability of the model's predictions. The results indicate that the extreme gradient boosting (XGB) model combined with SMOTE oversampling technique exhibited the highest accuracy and an F1-score of 99% and 1.00 respectively. Furthermore, the utilization of XAI methods increased the dependability of the model's decision-making process, rendering it more appropriate for clinical use. These results imply that integrating XAI with ML and oversampling techniques can enhance the early detection and management of diabetes, leading to better diagnosis and intervention. © 2023 IEEE.

Traffic flow forecasting task plays an essential role in intelligent transportation systems. Accurately capturing the intricate spatio-temporal dependencies in traffic network signals is the core of precise prediction. Recently, a paradigm that models spatio-temporal dependencies through graph neural networks and time series models has become one of the most promising methods to solve this problem. However, existing methods still have limitations due to ineffectively modeling dynamic spatial dependencies and high time and space complexity. To address these issues, we propose a simplifying and powerful general spatio-temporal traffic flow forecasting model called LightST. Specifically, LightST first embeds temporal covariates and spatial position information to enhance the spatio-temporal modeling capabilities. Then, stacked temporal linear layers are introduced to capture temporal dependencies efficiently. Finally,we propose a concise adaptive spatio-temporal embedding graph convolution method to extract implicit spatial dependencies over time via dynamic graph convolution with adaptive spatio-temporal embedding graph generation. Extensive experiment results on four public traffic flow datasets demonstrate the superiority of our LightST concerning computational efficiency and prediction performance. © 2025 IEEE. Dispatcher: Resource-aware Nakamoto Blockchain via Hierarchical Topology and Adaptive Incentives

Mainstream blockchain systems such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are revolutionizing the financial industry by adopting the Nakamoto consensus protocol, i.e., Proof-of-Work (PoW). Only nodes with sufficient computing resources can work out the PoW difficulties, thereby increasing the mining cost of malicious attackers and ensuring the security of blockchain systems. Such an assumption of having abundant resources leads to drawbacks of low throughput and risk of centralization. In this article, we present Dispatcher, a novel distributed consensus protocol that takes resource heterogeneity into account to ensure resource-aware PoW with high efficiency. Dispatcher introduces a hierarchical topology to offer flexible PoW difficulties tailored for different nodes’ resources. In particular, it utilizes the limited resource of each node to jointly maximize the performance by concurrent mining. Moreover, we design an adaptive incentive mechanism to fit the available resource of blockchain nodes to rewards. Our experiments show that Dispatcher enjoys a substantial performance margin over the state-of-the-art. We can achieve a 50% throughput improvement compared with OHIE.

Multi-PRF Waveform Design for Integrated Sensing and Communication System With Range Ambiguity

In this correspondence, we focus on the range ambiguity in the integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) system, which leads to large errors for target ranging. Firstly, we construct transmitted signals with multiple pulse repetition frequencies (multi-PRF) by changing the number of communication symbols across multiple coherent processing intervals (CPIs).This approach is based on the full-duplex ISAC nodes, which sequentially transmit sensing signals and communication symbols within each pulse repetition interval (PRI). Then, we formulate the power allocation problem in the proposed system by maximizing the sensing signal-to-interference ratio (SSINR) under communication rate constraints and provide a closed-form optimal solution. After equalizing the power of sensing and communication signals, the target can be detected at each PRF. Finally, we use the target's observed delay at each PRF for range ambiguity resolution. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system has a larger unambiguous area and is more effective in facilitating the detection of a long-range target in comparison to the existing ISAC systems. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
