Existing methods for modeling recommendation systems based on knowledge graphs include embedding-based, pathbased, and propagation-based methods. The embedding-based approach is flexible but more suitable for intra-graph applications, the path-based approach can model complex relationships but has a high computational cost, and the propagation-based approach considers global information but may introduce noise. This study proposed a simple and efficient model, called SEKGAT, which comprehensive the ideology of path-based and propagation approach to personalized recommendation by aggregating the user preferences through graph attention mechanism and fusing multiple feature representations on the knowledge graph into item features through pooling aggregators. Experimental results for the CTR prediction and Top-K recommendation tasks on three datasets of real-world scenarios show that our model approach is competitive. © 2023 IEEE.

For the cause of evolution of agriculture to its next generation, the introduction of A.I. and data-driven approach is going to be an important part of the agricultural industry that as per our vision would offer numerous economic, environmental and social benefits. Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) is providing more benefits since the weather and other environmental conditions is controlled and predictable. In CEA, the benefits include enhanced productivity in yield, reduced environmental footprints and better resource management. Our solution uses the adoption of Generative AI to visually forecast the potential yield of a crop using stable diffusion and conditional prompts additionally implementing several Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) architectures for data generation, augmentation and super-resolution. Our proposed system also adopts generative AI for real time monitoring of plants. studying their respective conditions and their autonomous cultivation and harvesting patterns. The dataset used contained over 8479 examples for different fruits alongside annotations. This data was used to train the detection models as well categorically feed the GANs for data generation. data generated by DCGAN has a structural similarity of 0.5-0.7 whereas data generated by pix2pix network returns us a structural similarity of 0.7-0.9.

Simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR-RIS) can be assembled in the air-ground integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) to further enhance the performance. However, the near-field effect should be further considered with higher carrier frequency and increasing number of STAR-RIS elements. In this paper, we propose a STAR-RIS enabled air-ground near-field ISAC scheme, where the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is deployed as a mobile base station and the semi-passive architecture is adopted to alleviate the severe path loss. We maximize the weighted sum rate to guarantee both the communication and sensing by modifying the beamforming vectors, the reflection/transmission matrices and the hovering location of UAV to match the near-field effect. To address this challenge, we first divide it into three subproblems, which are recast into convex ones by the semidefinite relaxation and successive convex approximation. Finally, we develop an alternate algorithm to iteratively solve them. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the superiority and validity of the proposed scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

Multilingual Synopses of Movie Narratives: A dataset for Vision-Language Story Understanding

Story video-text alignment, a core task in computational story understanding, aims to align video clips with corresponding sentences in their descriptions. However, progress on the task has been held back by the scarcity of manually annotated video-text correspondence and the heavy concentration on English narrations of Hollywood movies. To address these issues, in this paper, we construct a large-scale multilingual video story dataset named Multilingual Synopses of Movie Narratives (M-SYMON), containing 13,166 movie summary videos from 7 languages, as well as manual annotation of fine-grained video-text correspondences for 101.5 hours of video. Training on the human annotated data from M-SYMON outperforms the SOTA methods by 15.7 and 16.2 percentage points on Clip Accuracy and Sentence IoU scores, respectively, demonstrating the effectiveness of the annotations. As benchmarks for future research, we create 6 baseline approaches with different multilingual training strategies, compare their performance in both intra-lingual and cross-lingual setups, exemplifying the challenges of multilingual video-text alignment. Skin cancer is a predominant and possibly lethal condition that distresses people across the world. Primary detection and precise finding are crucial for leveraging efficacious treatment and enhanced patient consequences. This research study explores the application off Artificial Intelligence (AI) resolutions for the primary finding and analysis of skin cancer. The study leverages a dataset of dermatological images and employs various ML methods, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Support Vector Machines (SVMs), and decision trees, to analyse the existence of skin cancer with a higher degree of accuracy. By utilizing a combination of image processing and feature extraction, the AI model demonstrates higher performance in classifying skin lesions into malignant or benign categories. The proposed model has achieved an accuracy rate of 98.52%, making the AI-based system a promising tool for dermatologists and healthcare professionals.

Semantic hashing is an effective technique to empower information retrieval. Currently, considerable efforts have been dedicated to generating high-quality hash codes by modeling document features using generative models and other approaches. However, most of these methods rely solely on a single type of feature, such as TFIDF features, BERT embeddings, etc. As different types of features have distinct but complementary information of documents, e.g. TFIDF mainly contains the keywords information and BERT focuses on the semantics, hash codes generated solely from either may not capture the full essence of the documents. To overcome this challenge, we propose a semantic-alignment-promoting variational auto-encoder to generate hash codes from multiple document features. Specifically, a VAE-based generative model is first developed to model the multiple features. Then, we propose a semantic-alignment-promoting inference network to estimate the parameters of the variational posterior from multiple features. Additionally, the quality of hash codes is further improved by promoting the semantic alignment between the hash codes of connected documents in a constructed connection graph. The results of extensive experiments on three public datasets demonstrate that our proposed model significantly outperforms current state-of-the-art models. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Arecanut, also known as betel nut, is a tropical crop predominantly grown in India. The country holds the second position globally in terms of the production and consumption of arecanut. Throughout its life cycle, the areca nut plant is susceptible to a variety of diseases affecting its roots, trunk, leaves, and fruits. Some of these diseases are visible to the naked eye, while others are not. Farmers traditionally analyze every crop to detect any signs of disease, a process that is extremely *** this study, we propose an automatic system that aids in detecting the diseases of arecanut leaves using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and deep learning algorithms. A Convolutional Neural Network is a Deep Learning algorithm that takes an image as input, assigns learnable weights and biases to various features in the image, and then learns from the results to distinguish one feature from another. This approach significantly reduces the manual effort required in disease detection and increases the efficiency of the process. A datset is developed with many photos of healthy and sick arecanut leaves in order to train and evaluate the CNN model. An 80:20 split of the dataset was made into training and testing data. The goal of training the model over multiple epochs was to maximize validation and test accuracy while minimizing loss. It was discovered that the suggested method for diagnosing arecanut illnesses was precise and successful. This study contributes to the ongoing efforts to leverage technology in agriculture, with the aim of improving crop health and productivity. This study indicate that the proposed system can accurately identify diseases in arecanut leaves with a good and best accuracy. The system was able to distinguish between healthy and diseased leaves, and suggest appropriate remedies for the detected diseases. Dynamic graphs (DG) represent evolving interactions between entities in various real-world scenarios. Many existing DG representation learning models employ a combination of graph convolutional networks and sequence neural networks to capture spatial-temporal dependencies. However, this hybrid approach often fails to effectively capture the spatial-temporal continuity inherent in DGs. In this paper, we propose a novel approach called the Tensor Graph Convolutional Network (TGCN) to learn DG representations within a unified convolution framework based on tensor products. Our approach is founded on two key principles: (a) representing DG information in tensor form, and (b) leveraging tensor product operations to design a graph convolutional network that simultaneously models spatial and temporal features. Experimental results on three real-world DG datasets demonstrate that our proposed model achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Lung cancer is a leading cause of global mortality *** detection of pulmonary tumors can significantly enhance the survival rate of ***,various Computer-Aided Diagnostic(CAD)methods have been developed to enhance the detection of pulmonary nodules with high ***,the existing method-ologies cannot obtain a high level of specificity and *** present study introduces a novel model for Lung Cancer Segmentation and Classification(LCSC),which incorporates two improved architectures,namely the improved U-Net architecture and the improved AlexNet *** LCSC model comprises two distinct *** first stage involves the utilization of an improved U-Net architecture to segment candidate nodules extracted from the lung ***,an improved AlexNet architecture is employed to classify lung *** the first stage,the proposed model demonstrates a dice accuracy of 0.855,a precision of 0.933,and a recall of 0.789 for the segmentation of candidate *** suggested improved AlexNet architecture attains 97.06%accuracy,a true positive rate of 96.36%,a true negative rate of 97.77%,a positive predictive value of 97.74%,and a negative predictive value of 96.41%for classifying pulmonary cancer as either benign or *** proposed LCSC model is tested and evaluated employing the publically available dataset furnished by the Lung Image database Consortium and Image database Resource Initiative(LIDC-IDRI).This proposed technique exhibits remarkable performance compared to the existing methods by using various evaluation parameters.

A Method for Image-Text Retrieval Based on Semantic Filtering and Adaptive Adjustment

As image-text retrieval (a critical task in the field of computer vision) links cross-modal data, it has captured an extensive attention. Most of the existing methods intended for matching images and texts explore the local similarity levels between images and sentences to align images with texts. Even though this fine-grained approach has remarkable gains, how to further mine the deep semantics between data pairs and focus on the essential semantics in data remains to be quested. In this work, a new semantic filtering and adaptive approach (FAAR) was proposed to ease the above problem. To be specific, the Filtered Attention (FA) module selectively focuses on typical alignments with the interference of meaningless comparisons eliminated. Next, the Adaptive Regulator (AR) further adjusts the attention weights of key segments for filtered regions and words. The superiority of our proposed method was validated by a number of qualitative experiments and analyses on the Flickr30K and MSCOCO datasets. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
