RIS-Assisted ISAC Systems for Robust Secure Transmission with Imperfect Sense Estimation

In this paper, we investigate reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems for robust physical layer security (PLS) schemes. Traditionally, eavesdroppers (Eves) typically avoid interacting with the base station, making it challenging to obtain their relevant information, which limits the implementation of PLS. Fortunately, the sensing information obtained by ISAC can contribute to the design of PLS. Therefore, leveraging imperfect sensing estimation and employing dedicated radar signals as artificial noise, we formulate an RIS-assisted joint active and passive beamforming design problem to maximize the sum secrecy rate while satisfying the user's quality of service constraints, the transmission power constraints, and the sensing signal strength requirements. To make the problem tractable, we first derive the bound for Eve's channel state information uncertainty region based on security approximations. Subsequently, we employ the S-procedure and the symbolic-deterministic methods to transform the infinite number of inequalities. We then utilize the first-order Taylor expansion, the second-order cone methods, and the successive convex approximation to address the nonconvexity problem, leading to an efficient suboptimal solution obtained by an iterative algorithm. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the significant potential of the sensing function in enhancing security and the effectiveness of the proposed robust scheme in flexibly balancing communication and sensing quality. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

FDAC: Federated Domain Adaptation via Dual Contrastive Learning

Federated domain adaptation (FDA) aims to transfer knowledge collaboratively from multiple source domains to related but different unlabelled target domains. The data of each domain are locally maintained, and various domain gaps exist among them, resulting in extreme challenges in simultaneously mitigating diverse distribution shifts and preserving discriminative knowledge without accessing the source data. Many existing works have failed to fully explore different source models to measure domain shifts and leverage semantic knowledge, resulting in skewed alignment and partial preservation of discriminative information. In this paper, we propose a novel approach named FDAC to address Federated Domain Adaptation by thoroughly investigating source models via dual Contrastive mechanisms. FDAC contrastively increases the data diversity to align features across domains in a fine-grained manner by manipulating the latent deep architecture and compensating for knowledge from each source domain;simultaneously, it contrastively utilizes the comprehensive semantic knowledge of different source domains to guide the adaptation process. Extensive experiments on several real datasets demonstrate that FDAC outperforms all comparative methods under most conditions. Furthermore, FDAC only needs approximately half of the communication rounds compared with the state-of-the-art methods, indicating that FDAC can significantly improve communication efficiency, which is another key factor in the federated setting. A Comprehensive Survey of Floor Plan Image Analysis and Related Applications

This paper presents an in-depth exploration of architectural floor plan analysis through computational statistics, addressing the layout optimization and performance enhancement of buildings. Floor plans, which include elements like windows, walls, doors, and appliances, are pivotal for collaboration among architects, engineers, and clients, allowing for tailored designs based on client preferences. The study acknowledges the complexity and diversity of floor plans, which pose significant challenges for both human and machine recognition. Our research provides a thorough review of the evolution and current state of floor plan analysis, as well as a projection into its future. We systematically classify existing models into nine categories-dimensional, room-based, structural, retrieval, object-detection, graph, map, residential, and area-based-and assess them against criteria such as application domain, dataset, publication year, and reported performance metrics. The paper also discusses the practical implications of computational floor plan analysis, such as space optimization, energy efficiency, accessibility, safety, and comfort in the built environment. By processing and recognizing floor plan images, we can gain valuable insights and propose solutions to these issues. Our comprehensive review not only charts the progress in the field but also highlights the unresolved challenges and potential directions for future research. This includes the need for advanced models that can effectively process the intricate details of floor plans to further the goals of sustainable and functional architectural design.

Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPSs) are an integral component of modern manufacturing and industries. By digitizing data throughout product life cycles, Digital Twins (DTs) in ICPSs enable a shift from current industrial infrastructures to intelligent and adaptive infrastructures. Thanks to data process capability, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) can drive the construction and update of DTs to improve predictive accuracy and prepare for diverse smart manufacturing. However, mechanisms that leverage Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices to share sensing data for DT construction are susceptible to adverse selection problems. In this paper, we first develop a GenAI-driven DT architecture in ICPSs. To address the adverse selection problem caused by information asymmetry, we propose a contract theory model and develop a sustainable diffusion-based soft actor-critic algorithm to identify the optimal feasible contract. Specifically, we leverage dynamic structured pruning techniques to reduce parameter numbers of actor networks, allowing sustainability and efficient implementation of the proposed algorithm. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and the algorithm, enabling efficient DT construction and updates to monitor and manage ICPSs. © 2023 IEEE.

Hypergraph Pattern Mining (HPM) aims to identify all the instances of user-interested subhypergraphs (patterns) in hypergraphs, which has been widely used in various applications. However, existing solutions either need significant enumeration overhead because they extend subhypergraphs at the granularity of vertices, or suffer from massive redundant computations because they often need to repeatedly fetch and process the same incident hyperedges for different vertices. This paper presents an overlap-centric system named OHMiner to efficiently support HPM. OHMiner proposes an overlap-centric execution model to determine the subhypergraphs isomorphism through computing and comparing overlaps among hyperedges using set operations. This model aims to efficiently handle the vertices that collectively share the same incident hyperedges. To automatically and precisely retrieve an arbitrary pattern’s overlapping semantics without performing redundant set computations, OHMiner further proposes a redundancy-free compiler, which constructs an Overlap Intersection Graph (OIG) for the pattern, optimizes the OIG, and generates an overlap-centric execution plan to guide the procedure of HPM. Moreover, OHMiner designs an overlap-centric parallel execution engine, which adopts an incremental overlap-pruned approach to fast validate candidates for HPM. Additionally, it proposes a degree-aware data store to support efficient generation of candidates. Through evaluating OHMiner on a broad range of real-world hypergraphs with various patterns, our experimental results show that OHMiner outperforms the state-of-the-art HPM system by 5.4×-22.2×. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with secure Social Industrial Internet of Things (SIIoT) in the agri-food supply chain represents a significant step forward in tackling the challenges of efficiency, security, and sustainability. AI technologies such as machine learning, predictive analytics, and natural language processing are harnessed to analyze vast datasets generated by interconnected IIoT devices, providing real-time insights and facilitating well-informed decision-making. These insights help in forecasting crop yields, monitoring environmental conditions, optimizing resource usage, and preventing supply chain disruptions. Secure communication protocols and blockchain technologies are implemented to safeguard data privacy and integrity, ensuring that sensitive information is protected from cyber threats. However, there are limited research works that focus the AI, IoT and security issues in each step of smart farming. Most of the existing works focused on related technologies AI, IoT and security and focused on their applications but were not classified step-wise technologies use. In this paper, we demonstrate how these various technologies play crucial roles in enhancing efficiency, transparency, and security in each step of the agri-food industry. We present two real case studies and show how these technologies are involved in each step of the agri-food industry (e.g., smart farming and cold storage supply chain). Furthermore, we present a structured taxonomy that clarifies the interconnectedness of these technologies within the agri-food industry based on recent research works. Finally, we have discussed some challenges and potential future research directions with SIIoT in the agri-food industry. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Recent advancements in knowledge graph question answering (KGQA) have shown promise, yet existing methods often fail to align with human reasoning patterns. This study proposes HD-PORT (hop-level direct preference optimization for knowledge graph reasoning with trees), a novel approach that combines Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) with hop-level direct preference optimization (HDPO) for KGQA tasks. MCTS simulates human-like reasoning by exploring multiple inference paths in knowledge graphs, generating interpretable reasoning chains and rich hop-level preferences. HDPO then leverages these preferences for model optimization, addressing the limitations of traditional supervised learning and existing DPO methods that focus on overall solution preferences. By optimizing preferences at each reasoning step, HD-PORT more closely mirrors human problem-solving strategies. Experimental results on benchmark datasets demonstrate that HD-PORT significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both accuracy and interpretability, particularly for complex, multi-hop reasoning tasks.

Efficient Modeling Attack on Multiplexer PUFs via Kronecker Matrix Multiplication

The Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) is valued for its lightweight nature and unique functionality, making it a common choice for securing hardware products requiring authentication and key generation mechanisms. In response to the susceptibility of individual PUFs to modeling attacks, advanced PUF variants have been developed to improve security measures. One notable type in this regard is the multiplexer-based composition of arbiter PUFs, known as MPUF, which aims to meet high reliability and security standards simultaneously. Current research on attacking MPUF encounters challenges such as substantial demands for training CRPs and low success rates. In this work, we propose a novel numerical modeling attack strategy for MPUFs. Using Kronecker products from mathematical perspective, this method precisely describe the MPUF model without using complex network architectures, boosting attack accuracy and overall efficiency. Experiment comparison with state-of-the-art works demonstrates that our method achieves better performance in terms of attack accuracy, robustness, and efficiency. Our method is able to successfully attack a (512, 8)-MPUF in 32.71 minutes with 97.14% accuracy, outperforming all existing attack methods on MPUFs. More, we validate our method through experiments with hardware implementations on FPGAs. The advantages of our method also include the adaptability to be employed to attack other MPUF variations like cMPUF and rMPUF, and the capability to be integrated with an existing attack method for launching efficient attack on MPUFs leveraging reliability information. © 2025 IEEE.

Chord prediction plays a key role in the advancement of musical technological innovations, such as automatic music transcription, real-time music tutoring, and intelligent composition tools. Accurate chord prediction can assist musicians, educators, and developers in constructing tools that help in learning, playing, and composing music. Background noise and audio distortions may have an impact on chord prediction accuracy, particularly in real-world situations. Chords can have distinct voicings or finger positions on the guitar, resulting in slight variations in audio representation. This study focuses on the classification of guitar chords using techniques of deep learning. There are eight major and minor guitar chords in the dataset. They have been turned into spectrograms, chromagrams, and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) so that features can be extracted. Various deep learning architectures, including CNN, ResNet50, AlexNet, and VGG, were employed to classify the chords. Experimental results demonstrated that the spectrogram-based AlexNet model outperforms others, achieving good accuracy and robustness in chord classification. The proposed study demonstrates the efficiency of spectrograms and advanced deep learning models for audio signal processing in music applications. By automating chord detection, this study provides beneficial resources for music learners as well as educators, enabling more efficient learning and real-time feedback during practice sessions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). This survey provides detailed perspectives on Malaysian solar energy system adoption in relation to the economic outcome and environmental and policy context. This work has been done by using comprehensive keyword lists and inclusion criteria to confirm that the findings of this survey capture as many relevant publications as possible from the research period from 2010 to 2024. Unlike numerous papers that investigate such systems with mere commercial or industrial perspective, this survey aims at assessing residential installation, and providing accurate cost benefit analysis while showing the business belief of such schemes. It also examines various opinions, especially the Malaysian government policies and strategic incentives and staking its success on public awareness and acceptance. We equally allocate a considerable portion of this survey to discussing the environmental effects and the life cycle analyses comparing solar energy with other energy types. Notably, the survey is also under sustainable development goal 7 with the goal of achieving universal access to affordable reliable, sustainable and modern energy. Such a focus also makes the identified topics relevant for Malaysia, which is useful for references in subsequent projects and activities. These would include use of web-survey, the coverage on the residential sector, the ability to incorporate policy analysis and emphasis on sustainability to the study on solar energy usage in residential Malaysia. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
