Deep learning has recently become a viable approach for classifying Alzheimer's disease(AD)in medical ***,existing models struggle to efficiently extract features from medical images and may squander additional information resources for illness *** address these issues,a deep three‐dimensional convolutional neural network incorporating multi‐task learning and attention mechanisms is *** upgraded primary C3D network is utilised to create rougher low‐level feature *** introduces a new convolution block that focuses on the structural aspects of the magnetORCID:ic resonance imaging image and another block that extracts attention weights unique to certain pixel positions in the feature map and multiplies them with the feature map ***,several fully connected layers are used to achieve multi‐task learning,generating three outputs,including the primary classification *** other two outputs employ backpropagation during training to improve the primary classification *** findings show that the authors’proposed method outperforms current approaches for classifying AD,achieving enhanced classification accuracy and other in-dicators on the Alzheimer's disease Neuroimaging Initiative *** authors demonstrate promise for future disease classification studies.

Trust plays an essential role in an individual's decision-making. Traditional trust prediction models rely on pairwise correlations to infer potential relationships between users. However, in the real world, interactions between users are usually complicated rather than pairwise only. Hypergraphs offer a flexible approach to modeling these complex high-order correlations (not just pairwise connections), since hypergraphs can leverage hyperedeges to link more than two nodes. However, most hypergraph-based methods are generic and cannot be well applied to the trust prediction task. In this paper, we propose an Adaptive Hypergraph Network for Trust Prediction (AHNTP), a novel approach that improves trust prediction accuracy by using higher-order correlations. AHNTP utilizes Motif-based PageRank to capture high-order social influence information. In addition, it constructs hypergroups from both node-level and structure-level attributes to incorporate complex correlation information. Furthermore, AHNTP leverages adaptive hypergraph Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) layers and multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) to generate comprehensive user embeddings, facilitating trust relationship prediction. To enhance model generalization and robustness, we introduce a novel supervised contrastive learning loss for optimization. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of our model over the state-of-the-art approaches in terms of trust prediction accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Lung cancer, a complex and formidable disease, frequently necessitates surgical intervention as a pivotal aspect of its treatment. Accurate prediction of post-operative life expectancy holds paramount significance in the realm of clinical decisionmaking and patient counselling This study undertook a rigorous comparison of various machine learning algorithms, encompassing Support Vector Classifier (SVC), Logistic Regression, XGBoost, Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN), and CatBoost. Using an expansive dataset containing clinical and demographic variables collected from lung cancer patients, the research team rigorously assessed the predictive capabilities of these models. The outcome of the research team analysis unveiled exceptional mean accuracy scores across the models, underscoring their utility in this context. Specifically, SVC, Random Forest, and CatBoost consistently exhibited remarkable mean accuracy rates, each reaching 0.864. Logistic Regression also demonstrated robust performance, achieving a commendable mean accuracy of 0.862, while XGBoost and K-NN delivered competitive mean accuracies of 0.846 and 0.84, respectively. These findings underscore the substantial potential of machine learning in furnishing precise predictions regarding post-operative life expectancy. By doing so, these models empower healthcare professionals to make well-informed treatment decisions, paving the path for the development of personalized treatment strategies and the enhancement of patient care in the management of lung cancer. © 2023 IEEE.

Human activity recognition involves identifying the daily living activities of an individual through the utilization of sensor attributes and intelligent learning algorithms. The identification of intricate human activities proves to be a labo-rious task, given the inherent difficulty of capturing long-term dependencies and extracting efficient features from unprocessed sensor data. For this purpose, this study aims at recognizing and classifying human activities using physiological and biological sensor data generated by Actigraph, as they can accurately measure moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical which is mostly affected by body composition and also better suited for self-monitoring. We examined the effectiveness of these features by applying prevalent machine learning classifiers and long short-term memory (LSTM) networks on recently publicly available data, which includes accelerometer and heart rate recordings. The results from our experiments showed that LSTM models performed better than conventional ML classifiers with the best result achieving an accuracy of 86.5%. The findings also confirms the significance of the heart rate in accurately classifying and identification of human activity more. © 2024 IEEE.

To evaluate a learner's knowledge of programming language skills, assessments are given. Grading of these is usually done manually which not only is tedious but prone to error due to repetition and fatigue. In this work, we employ pre-trained language models to perform automated grading of "C"programming language. Embeddings from different transformers on pre-assessed codes are used as feature vectors to train a wide range of regressors for the scoring task. Root-mean-square error (RMSE) is the metric utilized to compare the scores of these regressors. It's observed that embeddings from T5-model with CatBoost regressor gives the least error around 15%. © 2023 IEEE.

Fingerprint authentication blends biometric precision with user convenience, leveraging unique ridge patterns for fast, reliable, and tamper-resistant identity verification. However, it remains vulnerable to spoofing attacks, where adversaries create synthetic fingerprints using materials like gelatin. To mitigate this, multi-factor authentication (MFA) enhances security by verifying both the fingerprint and the user’s device, restricting access to authorized hardware and complicating attacks. Although Photo Response Non-Uniformity (PRNU) has been explored for device authentication, its reliability diminishes under varying lighting conditions. To address this, we propose an AI-driven approach to generate robust hardware fingerprints from fingerprint scanners, enabling high-accuracy device identification. Our method, trained on 2,000 fingerprint images from 10 scanners, achieves an impressive 98% accuracy in identifying the source scanner. By integrating fingerprint biometrics, hardware fingerprints, and passwords, our novel MFA protocol significantly enhances security against spoofing and forgery attacks. Through security analysis, we demonstrate its effectiveness in preventing unauthorized access. Finally, we validate our authentication framework using an AI-powered binary classifier model, showcasing its practicality for real-world security applications. © 2013 IEEE.

With the speedy growth in the technology and automation sectors, different techniques have been developed which can easily manipulate multimedia content such as videos and images with the ultimate level of realism. It becomes very hard for a person to find out which of the media content is real and which is fake. With the help of deep learning and GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), deep fakes can be produced. A Deep fake is a fake video or image where a person in an existing video or image is replaced by someone else by using an algorithm. If we look at the positives, we can see how deep fake technology can be used in advertisements, filmmaking, and video games. But on the contrary, it also results in the spread of fake news and the generation of pornographic content. This seriously impacts society and presents enormous threats. As Internet of Things (IoT) devices leads an significant challenges in securing the systems from cyber-attacks in large-scale IoT networks. Traditional methods faces struggle to precisely detecting the complex intrusion patterns due to the heterogeneity and distributed IoT devices. There is a pressing need for scalable, real-time, and privacy-preserving solutions to secure IoT and IIoT systems. For multi-class intrusion detection in IoT networks, this study proposed an novel hybrid convolutional recurrent neural network (CRNN) model based on federated learning. By integrating federated learning, the proposed approach ensures privacy by enabling decentralized model training among IoT devices without exchanging sensitive data. The hybrid CRNN model improves detection accuracy for a variety of attack types in IoT networks by combining Recurrent Neural Networks for sequential pattern recognition and Convolutional Neural Networks for feature extraction from raw data. The proposed model classifies incoming network traffic into different attack classes. The experimental results conducted on the Edge-IIoT dataset reveal that the proposed model has attained the detection accuracy of 98.93% with balanced precision and recall for all the attack types and low-support classes such as SQL Injection and Man-in-the-Middle. This balance improves model’s ability to reduce both false negatives and false positives compared with conventional approaches. Together with real-time detection, our approach excels in a privacy-preserving manner, providing a practical, scalable solution for securing complex IoT networks, and addressing critical gaps in current IDS frameworks. © The Author(s) 2025.

The availability of online resource is seriously threatened by the fatal DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, which can earnestly break up a targeted network or website by flooding it with traffic. DDoS attacks can use a variety of tactics and can be launched from different points around the world, making it difficult to predict when they will occur. In order to improve accuracy by minimizing overfitting of data in CNN, this work proposes an efficient method by combining CNN with Bi-LSTM for predicting DDoS attacks based on a modified loss function with regularization. We test our method on the CICDDOS2019 dataset of network traffic and demonstrate that it can accurately and successfully predict DDoS attacks with an accuracy of 99.8% and an F-score of 97.29%. © 2024 IEEE.
