Generalized hybrid LiFi-WiFi UniPHY learning framework towards intelligent UAV-based indoor networks

Advancements in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, along with indoor hybrid LiFi-WiFi networks (HLWN), promise the development of cost-effective, energy-efficient, adaptable, reliable, rapid, and on-demand HLWN-capable indoor flying networks (IFNs). To achieve this, a unified physical layer (UniPHY) capable of simultaneous control communication, data transfer, and sensing is crucial. However, traditional block-based decoders, designed independently for LiFi and WiFi, perform poorly in complex and hybrid LiFi-WiFi-enabled UniPHY systems. In this study, we propose an end-to-end learning framework based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for UniPHY, which can be trained to serve hybrid LiFi-WiFi transmissions to improve error performance and simplify UAV hardware. In this work, the performance of the proposed framework is assessed and compared with that of the conventional independent block-based communication system. Furthermore, a comprehensive summary of optimal hyper-parameters for efficient training of our learning framework has been provided. It is shown that, with optimal hyper-parameters, the proposed CNN-based framework outperforms the conventional block-based approach by providing a signal-to-noise ratio gain of approximately 7 dB for the LiFi channel and 23 dB for the WiFi channel. In addition, we evaluate the complexity and training convergence for loss and accuracy. © 2024 The Authors

The Gannet Optimization Algorithm (GOA) and the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) demonstrate strong performance;however, there remains room for improvement in convergence and practical applications. This study introduces a hybrid optimization algorithm, named the adaptive inertia weight whale optimization algorithm and gannet optimization algorithm (AIWGOA), which addresses challenges in enhancing handwritten documents. The hybrid strategy integrates the strengths of both algorithms, significantly enhancing their capabilities, whereas the adaptive parameter strategy mitigates the need for manual parameter setting. By amalgamating the hybrid strategy and parameter-adaptive approach, the Gannet Optimization Algorithm was refined to yield the AIWGOA. Through a performance analysis of the CEC2013 benchmark, the AIWGOA demonstrates notable advantages across various metrics. Subsequently, an evaluation index was employed to assess the enhanced handwritten documents and images, affirming the superior practical application of the AIWGOA compared with other algorithms.

We propose an advanced framework for automated fracture detection in medical X-ray images., harnessing the power of hybrid deep learning methodologies. Through the fusion of autoencoders' adeptness in feature extraction and a convolutional neural networks (CNN) efficiency in recognizing the complex patterns., the proposed model achieves remarkable accuracy in identifying fractures. By integrating data augmentation and preprocessing strategies., the system demonstrates enhanced robustness in handling variations in image quality and presentation. This innovation holds substantial promise in revolutionizing the field of medical diagnostics by offering a reliable and efficient tool for clinicians to expedite fracture diagnosis., facilitate treatment decisions., and ultimately improve patient care. The amalgamation of diverse techniques not only establishes a robust fracture detection mechanism but also showcases the potential of interdisciplinary approaches. The proposed approach demonstrated excellent accuracy in fracture detection with a 92% percentage., which can greatly improve medical diagnosis and treatment planning. © 2023 IEEE.

Secure communication routing and attack detection in UAV networks using Gannet Walruses optimization algorithm and Sheppard Convolutional Spinal Network

Unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAV) are high-speed moving machines that attained rapid growth in various activities and are considered an integral component in the Satellite-Air -Ground-Sea (SAGS) incorporated network. However, UAVs are affected by communication delays and malicious attacks. Therefore, an adequate and secure communication routing and attack detection model is necessary for UAV communication networks. This research described a novel approach for initiating secure communication in UAV networks namely Gannet Walruses Optimization Algorithm + Sheppard Convolutional Spinal Network (GWOA + ShCSpinalNet). Initially, the UAV network is simulated, and the data packets are transmitted among the nodes using optimal routing paths. An optimal routing path is computed using the Gannet Walruses Optimization Algorithm (GWOA) by considering some multi-objective functions through the Deep Recurrent Neural Network (DRNN). The developed GWAO integrates Gannet Optimization (GOA) and Walruses Optimization (WaOA). The data communication is done through monitoring agents. The newly devised Sheppard Convolutional Spinal Network (ShCSpinalNet) is utilized as a decision-making agent for malicious attack detection. The attributes considered for decision-making are round trip time, packet delivery ratio, the strength of the signal, the size of the packet, and the number of incoming packets. Once the SpinalNet categorizes the normal and attacked nodes the defense agent is implemented for attack migration. The ShCSpinalNet is devised by the combination of the Sheppard Convolutional Neural Network and Spinal Network. The GWOA + ShCSpinalNet accomplishes a diminished delay of 0.614 s, an increased detection rate of 0.930%, an energy of 0.439 J, and a Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) of 0.749. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The goal of Text classification is to categorize a document into predefined categories. Various supervised and unsupervised classifiers can be used to achieve this. In the research work proposed, SOTA (State of the Art) deep learning models and embedding techniques are used to classify consumers' complaints, which is in form of text, into 6 classes. Words and documents are represented as numeric vectors through embedding, enabling vector representations for related words. These representations are easily ingested by NLP algorithms. The classes represent departments where complaints are routed. Deep learning models like LSTM, Bi-LSTM, GRU and 1D CNN are used, along with word embedding techniques like Word2Vvec, Fasttext, Bert and Distilbert to represent text. The experimental results indicate that DistilBert and CNN achieved a 93% F-score. © 2023 IEEE.

We have developed HEARTS, a dementia care training system using augmented reality based on Humanitude. Humanitude is a multimodal comprehensive care technique for dementia, and has attracted attention as a method to reduce the burden on both caregivers and patients. However, the HEARTS developed so far could not evaluate 'speaking' skills based on the content of conversations among 'seeing,' 'touching,' and 'speaking,' all of which are fundamental skills in Humanitude. Therefore, we attempted a new quantitative evaluation of trainees' 'speaking' skills by estimating the emotional value of conversational content using GPT-4 named HEARTS 5. A survey of caregivers was conducted using the developed system and was well received by the participants. We also developed a HEARTS 5 conversational version based on HEARTS 5, with the addition of GPT-4 conversation generation and Azure Text-to-Speech. © 2024 IEEE.

Within the expansive domain of"Natural Language Processing" (NLP), the task of"text summarization" emerges as a foundational element, playing a pivotal role in distilling relevant information from extensive textual corpora. In the digital age, the importance of efficient summarization becomes increasingly critical, given the overwhelming volume of textual information. This comprehensive study delves into the intricacies of both extractive and abstractive summarization techniques, placing a specific focus on transformer-based models like BERT and GPT. The recent development of channel technology has promised to reduce the transaction verification time in blockchain *** transactions are transmitted through the channels created by nodes,the nodes need to cooperate with each *** one party refuses to do so,the channel is unstable.A stable channel is thus *** nodes may show uncooperative behavior,they may have a negative impact on the stability of such *** order to address this issue,this work proposes a dynamic evolutionary game model based on node *** model considers various defense strategies'cost and attack success ratio under *** can dynamically adjust their strategies according to the behavior of attackers to achieve their effective *** equilibrium stability of the proposed model can be *** proposed model can be applied to general channel *** is compared with two state-of-the-art blockchain channels:Lightning network and Spirit *** experimental results show that the proposed model can be used to improve a channel's stability and keep it in a good cooperative stable *** its use enables a blockchain to enjoy higher transaction success ratio and lower transaction transmission delay than the use of its two peers.

Estimating the suitability of individuals for a vocation via leveraging the knowledge within cognitive factors comes with numerous applications: employment resourcing, occupation counseling, and workload management. Accordingly, the enterprises aim to hire the most suitable person from a massive array of similar applicants, maximizing performance and minimizing the gap between strategic indicators and predefined targets. While cognitive factors signify the best-suited person from similarly skilled workers, inferring pertinent latent cues from noisy and growing social network contents is time-intensive. To tackle the challenges involved, we propose a framework that, on the one hand, extends influential features based on the correlations between cognitive cues and, on the other hand, leverages a novel continuous transformer to mitigate the overlapping and approximation issues in discrete modeling. Rather than relying on discrete patterns that may evolve frequently, we use continuous elements that include not only numerous aggregating components but also sense minor irregular fluctuations. In a hybrid manner, we fuse multiple base models to transfer a higher representation to the meta-learning unit, agglomerating outputs from gradient boosters and the ConvNets. The experimental results show that our proposed framework can outperform trending vocation estimation methods by 1.36% in F1-Score and approximately 1% in accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.
