In democratic societies, the efficiency and integrity of the voting process are paramount. The DigiVoter system presents an innovative approach to addressing the longstanding challenges of voter verification at polling booths, which have been identified as significant barriers to voter turnout and operational efficiency. By integrating facial recognition technology powered by OpenCV with a blockchain-based data storage solution, DigiVoter aims to automate and secure the voter verification process, thereby reducing queue times from the current average of 7 min to under 2 min. This paper explores the development and implementation of DigiVoter, emphasizing its potential to streamline the electoral process, enhance data security, and increase voter participation. The use of OpenCV allows for accurate and swift voter identification, while the blockchain component ensures the integrity and immutability of voting records, addressing concerns about data tampering and privacy. Preliminary results indicate that DigiVoter can significantly improve the voting experience, suggesting a promising avenue for leveraging technology to support democratic engagement. Through this exploration, the paper highlights the critical role of innovative technologies in overcoming obstacles to voting, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more inclusive and efficient electoral system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Diffusion models have become a powerful generative modeling paradigm, achieving great success in continuous data patterns. However, the discrete nature of text data results in compatibility issues between continuous diffusion models (CDMs) and pre-trained language models (PLMs). That is, the performance of diffusion models even degrades when combined with PLMs. To alleviate this issue, we propose to utilize a pre-trained decoder to convert the denoised embedding vectors into natural language instead of using the widely used rounding operation. In this way, CDMs can be more effectively combined with PLMs. Additionally, considering that existing noise schedules in text diffusion models do not take into account the linguistic differences among tokens, which violates the easy-first policy for text generation, we propose a linguistic easy-first schedule that incorporates the measure of word importance, conforming to easy-first-generation linguistic features and bringing about improved generation quality. Experiment results on the E2E dataset and five controllable tasks show that our approach can combine the merits of CDMs and PLMs, significantly outperforming other diffusion-based models. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Powered by the massive data generated by the blossom of mobile and Web-of-Things (WoT) devices, Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have developed both in accuracy and size in recent years. Conventional cloud-based DNN training incurs rapidly-increasing data and model transmission overheads as well as privacy issues. Mobile edge computing (MEC) provides a promising solution by facilitating DNN model training on edge servers at the network edge. However, edge servers often suffer from constrained resources and need to collaborate on DNN training. Unfortunately, managed by different telecoms, edge servers cannot properly collaborate with each other without incentives and trust. In this paper, we introduce PipeEdge, a scheme that promotes collaborative edge training between edge servers by introducing incentives and trust based on blockchain. Under the PipeEdge scheme, edge servers can hire trustworthy workers for pipelined DNN training tasks based on model parallelism. We implement PipeEdge and evaluate it comprehensively with four different DNN models. The results show that it outperforms state-of-the-art schemes by up to 173.98% with negligible overheads. © 2023 ACM.

With the rapid development of Internet information technology, more and more information pours into the Internet. information extraction technology came into being, in which event extraction technology is the focus and difficulty. Event trigger word extraction is the first important stage of event extraction. Aiming at the problem of multiple triggers in an event mention, an event trigger extraction model based on semantic enhancement is proposed. In the pre-processing stage, by optimizing the MLM mask mechanism and integrating external knowledge such as element embedding information and Chinese military event terminology, the model can obtain more reliable Chinese military language representation. Then BiLSTM is used to mine the context features of Chinese military news long texts. Finally, CRF is used to assist label correction to achieve event trigger word extraction. Based on the data set constructed in this paper, the effectiveness of the event trigger word extraction model is verified. This method will provide some reference for domain event trigger word extraction. © 2023 SPIE.

Hyper Spectral Imaging (HSI) is a powerful approach used in far flung sensing packages that captures spatially contiguous set of spectrum statistics from a scene. With the rapid development of deep learning technology, deep counterfeiting has also quietly ascended to the stage of history, and voice disguise fraud, as a new type of attack means, has laid a huge hidden danger for people's privacy security. Based on the research of speech synthesis, this paper designs and implements a speech disguise synthesis system based on the Tacotron2 model, and uses the WaveGlow model as a vocoder to replace the original WaveNet module, which is used to simulate experimental research from the direction of the attack to achieve a better synthesis effect. After this experiment, this paper verifies the feasibility of the program and provides technical references for subsequent security technology development. © 2024 IEEE.

Mobile blood collection has the advantage of greater reach compared to blood drives at fixed donation sites and is preferable for individuals with limited time or means of transportation. Bloodmobiles are widely used in healthcare logistics to increase the number of donors and donation frequency and to better match blood demand with collection. Bloodmobiles are stationed at predetermined locations, while shuttles are assigned to visit these locations to collect the donated blood. This problem is formulated as the Selective Vehicle Routing Problem under the Bloodmobile System (SVRP-BM). This research extends the Selective Vehicle Routing Problem with Integrated Tours problem (SVRPwIT) by considering: (i) multiple shuttles, (ii) multiple blood types, (iii) multiple trips for the bloodmobiles, and (iv) the visiting availability of the donation sites. The proposed adaptive large neighborhood search (ALNS) algorithm, with a simulated annealing (SA) acceptance criterion, is tested on generated instances adopted from a real-life case of the Surabaya Red Cross. SVRP-BM provides a strategic solution to Surabaya’s blood shortage by optimizing blood collection. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

With the advancement of technologies, different methods are currently being used for converting spoken language into text. We propose a unifying framework for smoothed analysis of combinatorial local optimization problems, and show how a diverse selection of problems within the complexity class PLS can be cast within this model. This abstraction allows us to identify key structural properties, and corresponding parameters, that determine the smoothed running time of local search dynamics. We formalize this via a black-box tool that provides concrete bounds on the expected maximum number of steps needed until local search reaches an exact local optimum. This bound is particularly strong, in the sense that it holds for any starting feasible solution, any choice of pivoting rule, and does not rely on the choice of specific noise distributions that are applied on the input, but it is parameterized by just a global upper bound on the probability density. The power of this tool can be demonstrated by instantiating it for various PLS-hard problems of interest to derive efficient smoothed running times (as a function of and the input size). Most notably, we focus on the important local optimization problem of finding pure Nash equilibria in Congestion Games, that has not been studied before from a smoothed analysis perspective. Specifically, we propose novel smoothed analysis models for general and Network Congestion Games, under various representations, including explicit, step-function, and polynomial resource latencies. We study PLS-hard instances of these problems and show that their standard local search algorithms run in polynomial smoothed time. The telemedicine approach is a famous medical assistance service in worldwide, in this process diagnosis records like Scan reports, X-ray, CT and all other radiology reports analysis has been done with doctors. Many times, sending and receiving of these images from one point to many points, due to this security has been reduced. The multimodality images are major key diagnosis elements to detect disease of patients, these multimodality images security also been reduced due to low encryption techniques. In this work an advanced cryptographic encryption technique i.e Parallel Data encryption Standard (PDESNet) algorithm. The PDES is a modern novel algorithm can provide security to multimodal images from transmission to storage part. Finally summarize the proposed algorithm with existed models in terms of PSNR, BER, NC, MSE, accuracy and recall. © 2023 IEEE.
