Discrete chaotic systems based on memristors exhibit excellent dynamical properties and are more straightforward to implement in hardware, making them highly suitable for generating cryptographic keystreams. However, most existing memristor-based chaotic systems rely on a single memristor. This paper introduces a novel discrete chaotic system employing dual memristors, named the 3D memristive cubic map with dual discrete memristors (3D-MCM). The 3D-MCM system demonstrates richer and more intricate dynamical behaviors compared to its single-memristor counterparts, as verified through bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra, and complexity analyses. Notably, the system exhibits coexisting attractors, substantially enhancing its dynamical complexity. Hardware implementation of the 3D-MCM attractors confirms its feasibility for industrial applications. To illustrate the system's potential in encryption tasks, this study integrates the quaternary-based permutation and dynamic emanating diffusion (QPDED-IE) scheme for image encryption with the *** results demonstrate that the QPDED-IE scheme based on the 3D-MCM exhibits strong diffusion and confusion properties, effectively resisting cryptanalytic attacks. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Metaverse is the next generation and the successor to the Internet. Various sectors allocated capital to adapt the metaverse due to its inherent importance. Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) is one of the important sectors that can benefit from metaverse adaptation and integration. The C-ITS and metaverse integration give rise to new use cases and cyber attacks. However, traditional Pseudonym Certificate (PCert) authentication based on Vehicular Public Key Infrastructure (VPKI) cannot meet the new use cases and thwart cyber attacks. We present a Differential Privacy (DP)-based PCert and avatar update model to ensure the privacy of end-devices (e.g., vehicles) in the C-ITS metaverse. The proposed DP-based model adds noise to avatar attributes (e.g., color, behavior) to prevent avatar linkage during the PCert update process. Our method ensures that PCerts and avatars cannot be linked to end-devices and the previous PCerts and avatars. We simulate the DP-based method to investigate it in terms of privacy, latency, color distortion, and adversarial success rate, and the results show that DP-based is effective and practical for avatar updates. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless power transfer (WPT) presents a promising approach for charging electric vehicles (EVs), offering increased convenience, reliability, and safety for EV customers. Recently, the incorporation of multiple coil structures in wireless charging systems has addressed various operational challenges, enhanced power transfer, and provided a scalable solution for EVs. However, cross-coupling issues and space limitation problems arise when multiple coils are introduced to the WPT system. In this paper, a novel integrated compact coupler is proposed, including two naturally decoupled coils on the transmitter side, while both are coupled with the receiver coil to improve the power transfer capability of the system. ANSYS Maxwell is employed to simulate the proposed coupler and evaluate its performance under misalignment operations. The proposed wireless charging system inherently detects misalignment direction based on the variation of output voltage with respect to x-misalignment. As a result, the experimental prototype of the designed wireless WPT system presents a peak efficiency of 97.08% at 1.147-kW output power for an air gap of 120 mm under fully-aligned condition. Additionally, the designed compensation coil can transfer power of 243.76-W under fully-aligned condition and increases reliability in power transfer during misalignment operations. © 2013 IEEE.

Reviewing products online has become an increasingly popular way for consumers to voice their opinions and feelings about a product or service. Analyzing this Big data of online reviews would help to discern and extract useful facts and information that could provide a competitive and economic advantage to merchants and other organizations that are interested. Text classification organizes documents according to a variety of predefined categories. In other to solve the aforementioned problems, we employed Glove embeddings for our review sentiment analysis. We further integrate this embedding layer into a deep convolutional neural network (CNN)-bidirectional LSTM model. We further train our model on the IMDB and movie review dataset to extract the polarity as positive or negative and subsequently compare our model with other state-of- the-art models. The aforementioned experiments validate the efficacy and superiority of our proposed approach. © 2021 IEEE.

The implicitly coupled pressure-based algorithm is widely acknowledged for its superior convergence and robustness in solving incompressible flow problems. However, the increased expansion scale of equations and difficulty in solving the resulting equation system has limited the widespread use of the coupling algorithm. This paper presents an optimized block-SAMG method, referred to as Red-SAMG, to significantly reduce computational complexity and memory consumption. Our approach employs a parallel modified independent set algorithm, allowing each process to perform matrix coarsening individually. An aggressive coarsening strategy further reduces complexity to address larger-scale problems. We conducted numerical experiments on a serial two-dimensional backward-facing step case and a parallel three-dimensional tunnel between rod bundles in the reactor core problem. The results demonstrate that the Red-SAMG method with aggressive coarsening reduces solution time by 12\% on the backward-facing step case. For large-scale three-dimensional problems under the same parallel conditions, the Red-SAMG method shortens the solution time by 14\% compared to the existing SAMG method. The Red-SAMG method with aggressive coarsening further reduces solution time by 49\%. Our optimized Red-SAMG method effectively reduces the complexity of the linear system arising from the implicitly coupled algorithm. The aggressive coarsening strategy also represents a significant advancement in improving the computational efficiency of the SAMG method. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Emotional Voice Conversion aims to manipulate a speech according to a given emotion while preserving non-emotion components. Existing approaches cannot well express fine-grained emotional attributes. In this paper, we propose an Attention-based Interactive diseNtangling Network (AINN) that leverages instance-wise emotional knowledge for voice conversion. We introduce a two-stage pipeline to effectively train our network: Stage I utilizes inter-speech contrastive learning to model fine-grained emotion and intra-speech disentanglement learning to better separate emotion and content. In Stage II, we propose to regularize the conversion with a multi-view consistency mechanism. This technique helps us transfer fine-grained emotion and maintain speech content. Extensive experiments show that our AINN outperforms state-of-the-arts in both objective and subjective metrics. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Researchers have turned their focus on leveraging either dynamic or static features extracted from applications to train AI algorithms to identify malware precisely. However, the adversarial techniques have been continuously evolving and meanwhile, the code structure and application function have been designed in complex format. This makes Android malware detection more challenging than before. Most of the existing detection methods may not work well on recent malware samples. In this paper, we aim at enhancing the detection accuracy of Android malware through machine learning techniques via the design and development of our system called MFF-AMD. In our system, we first extract various features through static and dynamic analysis and obtain a multiscale comprehensive feature set. Then, to achieve high classification performance, we introduce the Relief algorithm to fuse the features, and design four weight distribution algorithms to fuse base classifiers. Finally, we set the threshold to guide MFF-AMD to perform static or hybrid analysis on the malware samples. Our experiments performed on more than 25,000 applications from the recent five-year dataset demonstrate that MFF-AMD can effectively detect malware with high accuracy. © 2021, ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Depression can significantly impact many aspects of an individual’s life, including their personal and social functioning, academic and work performance, and overall quality of life. Many researchers within the field of affective computing are adopting deep learning technology to explore potential patterns related to the detection of depression. However, because of subjects’ privacy protection concerns, that data in this area is still scarce, presenting a challenge for the deep discriminative models used in detecting depression. To navigate these obstacles, a large-scale multimodal vlog dataset (LMVD), for depression recognition in the wild is built. In LMVD, which has 1823 samples with 214 hours of the 1475 participants captured from four multimedia platforms (Sina Weibo, Bilibili, Tiktok, and YouTube). A novel architecture termed MDDformer to learn the non-verbal behaviors of individuals is proposed. Extensive validations are performed on the LMVD dataset, demonstrating superior performance for depression detection. The blind quantum computation (BQC) protocol allows for privacy-preserving remote quantum computations. In this paper, we introduce a remote quantum error correction code preparation protocol for BQC using a cluster state and analyze its blindness in the measurement-based quantum computation model. Our protocol requires fewer quantum resources than previous methods, as it only needs weak coherent pulses, eliminating the need for quantum memory and limited quantum computing. The results of our theoretical analysis and simulations show that our protocol requires fewer quantum resources compared to non-coding methods with the same qubit error rate. © 2023, CC BY.

It is pivotal for patients to receive accurate health information, diagnoses, and timely treatments. However, in China, the significant imbalanced doctor-to-patient ratio intensifies the information and power asymmetries in doctor-patient relationships. Health information-seeking, which enables patients to collect information from sources beyond doctors, is a potential approach to mitigate these asymmetries. While HCI research predominantly focuses on common chronic conditions, our study focuses on specialized disorders, which are often familiar to specialists but not to general practitioners and the public. With Hemifacial Spasm (HFS) as an example, we aim to understand patients’ health information and top-tier1 medical resource seeking journeys in China. Through interviews with three neurosurgeons and 12 HFS patients from rural and urban areas, and applying Actor-Network Theory, we provide empirical insights into the roles, interactions, and workflows of various actors in the health information-seeking network. We also identified five strategies patients adopted to mitigate asymmetries and access top-tier medical resources, illustrating these strategies as subnetworks within the broader health information-seeking network and outlining their advantages and challenges.
