In precision livestock farming, accurate cattle identification is essential for enhancing animal welfare, health monitoring, and productivity, while also supporting traceability and minimizing false insurance claims. This paper presents a novel approach for cattle identification using muzzle prints, with a focus on both efficiency and explainability. Taxicab metric, employed for efficient annotation of muzzle patterns significantly reduces the labeling time for training of YOLOv8 model. YOLOv8 is utilized for detecting muzzle prints in images, followed by SIFT (Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) for feature extraction and matching. The incorporation of Explainable AI (XAI) methods, particularly Grad-CAM, further enhances the transparency and interpretability of the SIFT model. © 2024 IEEE.

Digital watermarking of interactive media content has become an active experimentation field in recent years. In addition to reviewing some of the methods that have been developed for various media types;a general structure for watermark engrafting and identification is outlined. We highlight a few of these application-oriented differences, including copyright protection, substantiation, tamper identification, and data hiding, as well as the technological and system conditions for different media types such as digital photos, digital files, digital audio, and text. We describe a general structure for digital watermarking-based image copyright protection in this approach. In this paper, we outline the pre-processing and implementation of tide marking technique where Twofish algorithm and double encryption is described. The image processing toolbox is also specified by comparing five different image processing techniques. In addition, the post implementation is carried out with the wavelet toolbox and matlab coder to analyze signal, image properties and generate the efficient code for embedding the text. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid and continuous development of data-driven technologies such as supervised learning, high-quality labeled data sets are commonly required by many applications. Due to the easiness of crowdsourcing small tasks with low cost, a straightforward solution for label quality improvement is to collect multiple labels from a crowd, and then aggregate the answers. The aggregation strategies include majority voting and its many variants, EM-based approaches, Graph Neural Nets and so on. However, due to the uncertainty information loss and commonly existing task correlations, the aggregated labels usually contain errors and may damnify the downstream model *** address the above problem, we propose a hierarchical crowdsourcing framework1 for data labeling with noisy answers about correlated data. We make use of the heterogeneity of the labeling crowd and form an initialization-checking-update loop to improve the quality of labeled data. We formalize and successfully solve the core optimization problem, namely, selecting a proper set of checking tasks for each round. We prove that maximizing the expected quality improvement is equivalent to minimizing the conditional entropy of the observations given the crowdsourced answer families for the selected task set, which is NP-hard to solve. Therefore, we design an efficient approximation algorithm and conduct a series of experiments on real data. The experimental results show that the proposed method effectively improves the quality of the labeled data sets as well as the SOTA performance, yet without extra human labor costs. © 2023 IEEE.

As policy knowledge grows, customers are now able to take advantage of a wide range of benefits, including property insurance, travel insurance, health insurance, and auto insurance. With more people opting to buy such insurance, con artists can easily take advantage of them. Clients and vendors of insurance contracts may commit insurance fraud. Client-side insurance fraud includes overestimated claims and postdated policies. In the vendor side of insurance fraud, policies are issued by non-existent companies, and premiums are not submitted, among other things. Deep learning can also help prevent fraudsters by spotting abnormal trends in insurance claims processing and customer background checks, possibly saving insurers a lot of money. This paper proposed Car Insurance Fraud Detection (CIFD) with hyper parameter optimization. The Gray Wolf optimization model shows optimal predictions of car insurance fraud using deep learning. Performance metrics such as accuracy are used to assess the effectiveness of proposed algorithms. CIFD has the highest accuracy rate of 99% among all deep learning models.

Multi-site MRI studies often suffer from site-specific variations arising from differences in methodology, hardware, and acquisition protocols, thereby compromising accuracy and reliability in clinical AI/ML tasks. We present PRISM (Privacy-preserving Inter-Site MRI Harmonization), a novel Deep Learning framework for harmonizing structural brain MRI across multiple sites while preserving data privacy. PRISM employs a dual-branch autoencoder with contrastive learning and variational inference to disentangle anatomical features from style and site-specific variations, enabling unpaired image translation without traveling subjects or multiple MRI modalities. Our modular design allows harmonization to any target site and seamless integration of new sites without the need for retraining or fine-tuning. Using multi-site structural MRI data, we demonstrate PRISM's effectiveness in downstream tasks such as brain tissue segmentation and validate its harmonization performance through multiple experiments. Our framework addresses key challenges in medical AI/ML, including data privacy, distribution shifts, model generalizability and interpretability. Code is available at https://***/saranggalada/PRISM

Complex question generation over knowledge bases (KB) aims to generate natural language questions involving multiple KB relations or functional constraints. Existing methods train one encoder-decoder-based model to fit all questions. However, such a one-size-fits-all strategy may not perform well since complex questions exhibit an uneven distribution in many dimensions, such as question types, involved KB relations, and query structures, resulting in insufficient learning for long-tailed samples under different dimensions. To address this problem, we propose a meta-learning framework for complex question generation. The meta-trained generator can acquire universal and transferable meta-knowledge and quickly adapt to long-tailed samples through a few most related training samples. To retrieve similar samples for each input query, we design a self-supervised graph retriever to learn distributed representations for samples, and contrastive learning is leveraged to improve the learned representations. We conduct experiments on both WebQuestionsSP and Com-plexWebQuestion, and results on long-tailed samples of different dimensions have been significantly improved, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed framework. © 2022 Proceedings - International Conference on Computational Linguistics, COLING. Efficient route optimization is a crucial concern in modern transportation systems, influencing travel time, resource consumption, and user satisfaction. By empowering users to select their priority parameters, such as safety or efficiency, this project enables travellers to make eco-conscious choices and select routes that minimize their environmental footprint. Real-time data integration ensures users can bypass traffic jams and accidents, reducing emissions and fuel consumption. Furthermore, the focus on safety factors helps prevent accidents, thereby fostering safer road environments. Existing systems often fall short, providing limited customization and overlooking safety and sustainability priorities. To bridge these gaps, this project introduces an advanced route planning system that empowers users to select their priority parameters, integrates real-time data for up-to- the-minute updates, and prioritizes road safety. It introduces a pioneering approach that enhances the Dijkstra Algorithm by integrating real-time accident rate and travel time data into the route optimization process. By considering these additional factors, the algorithm produces routes that not only minimize distance but also prioritize safety and time efficiency in dynamic real-world conditions. The algorithm's multi-factor optimization considers distance, accident rates, and travel times, enabling the creation of routes that balance these criteria and offer improved decision-making for users through a user- friendly interface. The algorithm's dynamic adaptability, multi- factor optimization, and practical implementation showcase its potential to revolutionize how routes are planned, leading to safer, faster, and more informed travel experiences.

With the increasing water shortage and climatic uncertainty, creative strategies for effective water management in agriculture are necessary. This research investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), with solar-powered Internet of Things (IoT) networks to enhance water utilization in agricultural activities. The proposed system facilitates accurate irrigation scheduling using real-time data from soil moisture sensors, meteorological stations, and crop health monitoring devices. The ANN model analyses this data to predict ideal irrigation schedules and volumes, minimizing water waste while improving crop yields. The solar-powered IoT framework provides sustainability and reduces dependence on traditional energy sources. Field trials indicate that the AI-enhanced system may promote water saving by as much as 30% relative to traditional irrigation techniques. Moreover, using AI enables adaptive learning, enabling the system to enhance its irrigation tactics using historical and real-time data. This novel method conserves water resources and fosters sustainable agriculture practices, coinciding with global initiatives to address water shortages and assure food security. The findings underscore the potential of technology-based solutions to revolutionize agricultural water management for a sustainable future. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a probabilistic reduced-dimensional vector autoregressive (PredVAR) model with oblique projections. This model partitions the measurement space into a dynamic subspace and a static subspace that do not need to be orthogonal. The partition allows us to apply an oblique projection to extract dynamic latent variables (DLVs) from high-dimensional data with maximized predictability. We develop an alternating iterative PredVAR algorithm that exploits the interaction between updating the latent VAR dynamics and estimating the oblique projection, using expectation maximization (EM) and a statistical constraint. In addition, the noise covariance matrices are estimated as a natural outcome of the EM method. A simulation case study of the nonlinear Lorenz oscillation system illustrates the advantages of the proposed approach over two alternatives. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Social relation reasoning in heterogeneous social networks (HSNs) should not only infer whether people are connected, but also why they know each other and what their relationship is. This task is challenging because the heterogeneous social network is non-trivial to leverage and the collected data is always noisy and incomplete, which leads that the existing rule-based and representation methods cannot efficiently and accurately reason social relations. To reason social relations in noisy and incomplete HSNs, we shift from simply inferring meta-path based social relations by rule-based methods to reasoning by social relation learning. Then, we present an inductive model named Heterogeneous Graph Variational AutoEncoders (HGVAE) towards robust social relation learning on noisy and incomplete HSN data. In HGVAE, the well-designed heterogeneous graph encoder, multi-signal decoder, and variational inference mechanism bring prominent robustness and significant performance improvement. Extensive experiments are conducted to compare our methods against a set of the most representative baseline methods. The efficiency analysis, robust analysis and ablation studies confirm the value of our proposed approach for modelling meta-path based social relations buried in various HSNs. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
