Ultrathin organic solvent nanofiltration membrane with polydopamine-HKUST-1 interlayer for organic solvent separation

Polydopamine(PDA)and metal-organic skeleton HKUST-1 were co-deposited on the base membrane of hexamethylenediamine(HDA)-crosslinked polyetherimide(PEI)ultrafiltration membrane as the interlayer,and high-throughput organic solvent nanofiltration membrane(OSN)was prepared by interfacial polymerization and solvent activation *** polyamide(PA)layer surface roughness from 28.4 nm in PA/PEI to 78.3 nm in PA/PDA-HKUST-10.6/PEI membrane,reduced the thickness of the separation layer from 79 to 14 nm,and significantly improved the hydrophilic,thermal and mechanical *** flux of the PA/PDA-HKUST-10.6/PEI membrane in a 0.1 g/L Congo Red(CR)ethanol solution at 0.6 MPa test pressure reached 21.8 L/(m^(2)·hr)and the rejection of CR was 92.8%.Solvent adsorption test,N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)immersion experiment,and long-term operation test in ethanol showed that the membranes had high solvent *** solvent flux test demonstrated that,under the test pressure of 0.6 MPa,the flux of different solvents ranked as follows:methanol(56.9 L/(m^(2)·hr))>DMF(39.6 L/(m^(2)·hr))>ethanol(31.2 L/(m^(2)·hr))>IPA(4.5 L/(m^(2)·hr))>N-hexane(1.9 L/(m^(2)·hr)).The ability of the membranes to retain dyes in IPA/water dyes solution was also *** flux of the membrane was 30.4 L/(m^(2)·hr)and the rejection of CR was 91.6%when the IPA concentration reached 50%.This OSN membrane-making strategy is economical,environment-friendly and efficient,and has a great application prospect in organic solvent separation systems.

TheUAV pursuit-evasion problem focuses on the efficient tracking and capture of evading targets using unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),which is pivotal in public safety applications,particularly in scenarios involving intrusion monitoring and *** address the challenges of data acquisition,real-world deployment,and the limited intelligence of existing algorithms in UAV pursuit-evasion tasks,we propose an innovative swarm intelligencebased UAV pursuit-evasion control framework,namely“Boids Model-based DRL Approach for Pursuit and Escape”(Boids-PE),which synergizes the strengths of swarm intelligence from bio-inspired algorithms and deep reinforcement learning(DRL).The Boids model,which simulates collective behavior through three fundamental rules,separation,alignment,and cohesion,is adopted in our *** integrating Boids model with the Apollonian Circles algorithm,significant improvements are achieved in capturing UAVs against simple evasion *** further enhance decision-making precision,we incorporate a DRL algorithm to facilitate more accurate strategic *** also leverage self-play training to continuously optimize the performance of pursuit *** experimental evaluation,we meticulously designed both one-on-one and multi-to-one pursuit-evasion scenarios,customizing the state space,action space,and reward function models for each *** simulations,supported by the PyBullet physics engine,validate the effectiveness of our proposed *** overall results demonstrate that Boids-PE significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of UAV pursuit-evasion tasks,providing a practical and robust solution for the real-world application of UAV pursuit-evasion missions.

In virtual worlds and robotic teleoperation scenarios, this sense of touch must be artificially reconstructed by stimulation of the human body (usually by the hand) to produce the haptic features required for enhanced realism and human performance. With the development of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, interacting directly with virtual objects with haptic feedback is receiving more and more attention. In this study, a three degree of freedoms (3-DOFs) haptic feedback device was proposed, which can generate a force haptic feedback by skin stretching at the fingertips. The device employed a slider-crank linkage mechanism and a curved- W -shaped five-bar linkage mechanism, with the motor driving the slider-crank linkage mechanism mounted on the back of the finger and the two motors driving the curved- W-shaped five-bar linkage mechanism mounted on both sides of the finger. In addition, this study also analyzes the kinematics and statics of the structure of the proposed device, which provides the actual value of pressure 2.92 N slightly larger than the theoretical value of 2.67 N. It also verifies the reasonableness of the design by analyzing the results and experiments, and the experimental accuracy of the direction recognition gradually becomes larger with the increasing of the value of the condition. This study can contribute to the understanding of human multimodal tactile perception mechanisms on the one hand, and provide motivation for robotics and haptics on the other. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an anti-slip control system for dual-motor electric vehicles, utilizing a sliding mode control (SMC) approach. The control strategy calculates the torque distribution coefficients for the front and rear motors to mitigate slip and enhance vehicle stability. By applying the sliding mode method, the controller ensures robust performance under varying road conditions, reducing the risk of loss of traction. The proposed system is tested by simulations with representative scenarios to validate its effectiveness in maintaining low slip ratios and improving the overall performance of the vehicle, especially in low-friction environments. © 2025 IEEE.

With the development of intelligent manufacturing, four-way shuttles play an important role in automatic storage systems. Dynamic scheduling of four-way shuttles based on improved deep Q-learning is applied to the scheduling of multi-vehicles in the same level under the determination of the shuttle hoist scheduling task. First, this paper establishes a Markov decision process (MDP) for dynamic scheduling of a four-way shuttle system. Second, a composite reward function strategy is designed to guide the four-way shuttle to obtain the desired results. Finally, in order to improve the training speed and accuracy of the four-way shuttle scheduling, a prioritized empirical playback algorithm is used to realize its autonomous navigation. The scheduling method is highly flexible, makes up for the shortcomings of the traditional static scheduling system, has high robustness to various obstacles, can generate optimal feedback actions in the shortest possible time, and is superior to realize the scheduling of the four-way shuttle in the complex storage environment. © 2024 Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Logistics and Systems engineering. ViTGaze: gaze following with interaction features in vision transformers

Gaze following aims to interpret human-scene interactions by predicting the person’s focal point of gaze. Prevailing approaches often adopt a two-stage framework, whereby multi-modality information is extracted in the initial stage for gaze target prediction. Consequently, the efficacy of these methods highly depends on the precision of the previous modality extraction. Others use a single-modality approach with complex decoders, increasing network computational load. Inspired by the remarkable success of pre-trained plain vision transformers (ViTs), we introduce a novel single-modality gaze following framework called ViTGaze. In contrast to previous methods, it creates a novel gaze following framework based mainly on powerful encoders (relative decoder parameters less than 1%). Our principal insight is that the inter-token interactions within self-attention can be transferred to interactions between humans and scenes. Leveraging this presumption, we formulate a framework consisting of a 4D interaction encoder and a 2D spatial guidance module to extract human-scene interaction information from self-attention maps. Furthermore, our investigation reveals that ViT with self-supervised pre-training has an enhanced ability to extract correlation information. Many experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method. Our method achieves state-of-the-art performance among all single-modality methods (3.4% improvement in the area under curve score, 5.1% improvement in the average precision) and very comparable performance against multi-modality methods with 59% fewer parameters. © The Author(s) 2024.

This paper presents a novel joint spatio-temporal filtering algorithm for transfer learning (TL) in motion imagery (MI) tasks, aiming to address the variability in subjects, trials, or tasks. The algorithm combines spatial filtering using the common spatial pattern (CSP) algorithm with temporal filtering applied to EEG signals of each channel. By jointly optimizing the coefficients of the spatial and temporal filters, the algorithm enhances the performance of CSP and improves the alignment of covariance matrices. Experimental results on various public datasets demonstrate that the proposed joint spatio-temporal filtering algorithm effectively improves the classification accuracy of TL for MI tasks in brain-computer interfaces (BCI). © 2023 IEEE.
