A hybrid fuel cell for water purification and simultaneously electricity generation

The development of highly efficient energy conversion technologies to extract energy from wastewater is urgently needed,especially in facing of increasing energy and environment ***,we successfully fabricated a novel hybrid fuel cell with BiOCl-NH_(4)PTA as *** polyoxometalate(NH_(4)PTA)act as the acceptor of photoelectrons and could retard the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes,which lead to superior photocatalytic *** utilizing BiOCl-NH_(4)PTA as photocatalysts and Pt/C air-cathode,we successfully constructed an electron and mass transfer enhanced photocatalytic hybrid fuel cell with flow-through field(F-HFC).In this novel fuel cell,dyes and biomass could be directly degraded and stable power output could be *** 87%of dyes could be degraded in 30 min irradiation and nearly 100%removed within 90 *** current density could reach up to~267.1μA/cm^(2);with maximum power density(Pmax)of~16.2μW/cm^(2) with Rhodamine B as organic pollutant in *** power densities were 9.0μW/cm^(2),12.2μW/cm^(2),and 13.9μW/cm^(2) when using methyl orange(MO),glucose and starch as substrates,*** hybrid fuel cell with BiOCl-NH_(4)PTA composite fulfills the purpose of decontamination of aqueous organic pollutants and synchronous electricity ***,the novel design cell with separated photodegradation unit and the electricity generation unit could bring potential practical application in water purification and energy recovery from wastewater.

Flow-through electrodes have been demonstrated to be effective for electroreduction of Cr(VI),but shortcomings are tedious preparation and short ***,porous titanium available in the market was studied as a flow-through electrode for Cr(VI)*** addition,the intelligent prediction of electrolytic performance based on a back propagation neural network(BPNN)was *** studies revealed that Cr(VI)electroreduction was a diffusion-controlled *** of the flow-through mode achieved a high limiting diffusion current as a result of enhanced mass transfer and favorable *** of Cr(VI)in the flow-through system was 1.95 times higher than in a parallel-plate electrode *** the influent(initial pH 2.0 and 106 mg/L Cr(VI))was treated at 5.0 V and a flux of 51 L/(h·m2),a reduction efficiency of~99.9%was obtained without cyclic electrolysis *** served as the supporting electrolyte and pH regulator,as reactive CrSO72−species were formed as a result of feeding HSO4−.Cr(III)was confirmed as the final product due to the sequential three-electron transport or disproportionation of the *** developed BPNN model achieved good prediction accuracy with respect to Cr(VI)electroreduction with a high correlation coefficient(R2=0.943).Additionally,the electroreduction efficiencies for various operating inputs were predicted based on the BPNN model,which demonstrates the evolutionary role of intelligent systems in future electrochemical technologies.

Coal mining under the geological conditions of a loose layer will lead to the intensification of surface movement and deforma-tion,and mining under the geological conditions of a fault will lead to the living slip of a *** under both conditions will have a great impact on the safety of coal *** reveal the evolution law of the coupling mechanism of loose layer and fault on the multi-physical fields of overburden,the numerical simulation method is used to simulate the coupling of loose layer and fault with different thicknesses,analyze the changes of vertical stress on the key strata,the changes of surface subsidence,the evolution of elastic energy on the fault zone and the changes of activated slip area of the fault *** simulation analysis shows that the vertical stress change trend of the key strata gradually changes from the"V"shape to the"W"shape at the beginning of mining,and the vertical stress concentration will occur at the *** loose layer will promote surface subsidence,and the fault will hinder the surface subsidence to a certain *** loose layer and the fault alternately affect the surface *** elastic energy accumulation on the key strata is mainly concentrated on both sides of the *** elastic energy in the center of the goaf is *** elastic energy accumulation in the fault zone starts from the shallowly buried fault and gradually develops to the deeply buried *** instability of fault activation has gone through the initial stage of activation—the intensification stage of activation—the stable stage of *** the working conditions of no loose layer,thin loose layer,and thick loose layer,the fault zone is the first to undergo living slip,and under the action of an extra-thick loose layer,there is a certain lag in the activation slip of the fault zone.

Photocatalytic technology has been proven to be a simple and effective method for degrading recalcitrant organic *** this study,a series of Z-scheme heterojunction nanocomposites composed of CeO_(2)and terephthalic acid-modified WO_(3) was prepared and further used as photocatalysts for perfluorobutane sulfonate(PFBS)*** this design,terephthalic acid was used as an electron recombination center and heterojunction mediator,which effectively enhances the migration ability of electron-hole pairs and the physicochemical stability of the *** addition,in situ synthesis of CeO_(2)onto the WO_(3) surface by the coordinate bond between terephthalic acid and Ce ions can avoid CeO_(2)*** a result,the CeO_(2)@WO_(3) photocatalyst exhibits excellent PFBS degradation ability(94%for CeO_(2)@WO_(3) vs.19%for CeO_(2)).After the fifth cyclic degradation experiment,the CeO_(2)@WO_(3) photocatalyst still maintains stable degradation ***,the reaction mechanism of the PFBS in CeO_(2)@WO_(3) photocatalytic process was analyzed by free radical trapping experiment and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS)*** study provides new insights for constructing Z-scheme heterojunction and demonstrates that CeO_(2)@WO_(3) photocatalysts possess a promising prospect for degrading PFBS pollutants.

The models constructed by particle flow simulation method can effectively simulate the heterogeneous substance characteristics and failure behaviors of ***,existing contact models overlook the rock cracks,and the various simulation methods that do consider cracks still exhibit certain *** this paper,based on Flat-Joint model and Linear Parallel Bond model,a crack contact model considering linked substance in the crack is proposed by splitting the crack contact into two portions:linked portion and unlinked portion for *** new contact model considers the influence of crack closure on the contact force-displacement *** a better compressive tensile strength ratio(UCS/T)was obtained by limiting the failure of the contact bond to be solely controlled by the contact force and moment of the linked ***,by employing the FISH Model tool within the Particle Flow Code,the contact model was constructed and verified through contact force–displacement experiments and loading-unloading tests with cracked ***,the contact model was tested through simulations of rock mechanics *** results indicate that the contact model can effectively simulate the axial and lateral strain laws of rocks simultaneously and has a relatively good reproduction of the bi-modularity of rocks.

With the rapid development of global industry, photovoltaic (PV) power generation has become a research hotspot for new energy applications. Due to the limitations of the environment, the output power of PV power generation is random and fluctuating, and if directly connected to the grid, it will have a greater impact on the stability of the microgrid and power quality. The global maximum power tracking algorithm is constructed by combining artificial intelligence algorithm to track the maximum power point of PV output;based on the operating characteristics of both battery and supercapacitor, the two-stage power allocation control strategy based on fuzzy control algorithm is put forward, which improves the dynamic response speed of the system and ensures the cycle life of the system at the same time. The effectiveness of the strategy is verified by building a simulation model through Simulink. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper considers multiple static target hunting control and path planning using multi-agents. The whole hunting process can be classified into two stages. The first is cruising stage, where the agents move in a certain formation to approach the multiple static targets. Once the agents enter into certain ranges around the targets, the agents will switch into the second stage of hunting. In these two stages, it is required to consider several issues: the agent controlling, path planning, and task allocation. Specifically, the traditional multi-agent controlling algorithm, rapidly-exploring random tree (RRT), and optimal sub-pattern assignment (OSPA) are respectively used in the process. Simulation experiment shows that the path planning and hunting algorithm can efficiently realize the formation movement and multiple static targets hunting. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of channel survey technology, multibeam bathymetric system plays an increasingly important role in channel survey. Firstly, we establish a physical model, use the tangent formula to find out the depth of seawater D, after the analysis of the plane model and use the sine theorem to find out the coverage width W, and then use the spacing of the two adjacent survey lines and the coverage width, and with the help of the expression of the relationship between the overlap rate with the previous survey line is solved ?. The overlap with the previous line is then solved with the help of an expression relation. Finally, SketchUp was used to convert the given information into a three-dimensional model for analysis, and the expression for the relationship between angles and edges in a three-dimensional structure was obtained. We found that the optimal wiring strategy is "horizontal wiring along the isobaths", and the optimal number of survey lines for the vessel on these three slopes is 67 in total, with the missed area accounting for 1.325% of the total area of the region. © 2024 IEEE.

Mercury removal from flue gas using nitrate as an electron acceptor in a membrane biofilm reactor

Mercury(Hg^(0))is a hazardous air pollutant for its toxicity,and *** study reported that membrane biofilm reactor achieved mercury removal from flue gas using nitrate as the electron ***^(0) removal efficiency was up to 88.7%in 280 days of *** content in flue gas affected mercury redox reactions,mercury biooxidation and microbial *** biological mercury oxidation increased with the increase of oxygen concentration(2%‒17%),methylation of mercury reduced with the increase of oxygen *** dominant bacteria at oxygen concentration of 2%,6%,17%,21%were Halomonas,Anaerobacillus,Halomonas and Pseudomonas,*** addition of ferrous sulfide could immobilize Hg^(2+) effectively,and make both Hg^(2+) and MeHg transform into HgS-like substances,which could achieve the inhibition effect of methylation,and promote conversion of *** dominant bacteria changed from Halomonas to Planctopirus after FeS *** drives mercury oxidation through katE,katG,nar,nir,nor,and nos for Hg^(0) removal in flue gas.

With the rapid emergence of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and 6G networks, the exponential growth in data traffic has presented a formidable challenge to the limited computational capabilities of in-vehicle devices. To overcome this challenge, mobile edge computing (MEC) offers a viable solution by offloading computationally intensive tasks to the edge servers. In this study, we design a novel joint optimization approach that leverages deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to inform decisions on computational offloading, energy consumption, and resource allocation. Our proposed scheme considers the involvement of both the base station (BS) and road side units (RSUs) in providing computing resources to the user while simultaneously minimizing energy consumption and reducing latency of computational tasks. Our simulations unequivocally establish the efficacy of the Deep Reinforcement Learning-based computing offloading and resource allocation (DCORA) algorithm. The proposed DCORA algorithm outperforms alternative baseline schemes by approximately 15% in direct comparison. © 2023 IEEE.
