Parametric control of quasi-linear second-order systems with partitioned eigenstructure assignment by output feedback

In this paper, a parametric design approach for stabilizing a quasi-linear second-order system with partitioned eigenstructure assignment(PESA) is investigated through output feedback control. The PESA approach is established by partitioning the desired eigenvalue matrix into two parts to separate the associated right and left eigenvectors into a subset of the generalized eigenvectors simultaneously. A parametric controller is established by solving two second-order generalized Sylvester matrix equations, and a certain form with the desired eigenstructure can be derived with the established quasi-linear output feedback controller. Unlike the prevailing approach that assigns the entire set of generalized eigenvectors, which is difficult to satisfy a large number of complicated constraints in practical systems by the normalized pair of right and left eigenvector matrices, a subset of the generalized eigenvectors is considered. In addition, the proposed PESA approach provides less computational load and is easy to use. A numerical example and application in spacecraft rendezvous are provided to verify the numerical economy and high efficiency of the proposed approach.

Ultrasound computed tomography (USCT) is a noninvasive and non-ionizing imaging technique for soft tissue and limb bones. Full waveform inversion (FWI) has received increased interest due to its high resolution. The difficulties in FWI are twofold: high computational burden and poor convergence. To address these issues, an envelope inversion with source coding (EI-SE) algorithm is proposed in this paper. The envelope-based objective function measures the matching degree between the predicted and measured envelopes. It can provide the low-frequency components of the signal that are not available to FWI. Therefore, the EI can provide an accurate solution even when the initial model is far from the ground truth and low-frequency data are missing. The simulations are conducted to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm. The root mean squared error (RMSE) of the proposed algorithm is much smaller than that of conventional FWI. The results show that EI-SE is effective in avoiding cycle skipping. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Linear active disturbance rejection control of fighter aircraft based on MADDPG algorithm

To address nonlinearity, strong coupling, and disturbances in fighter aircraft attitude control, this paper proposes an intelligent control method based on multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient (MADDPG) and linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC). A three-channel LADRC controller estimates and compensates for disturbances, uncertainties, and coupling terms in real time. To overcome the dimensionality curse in multi-parameter optimization, an independent DDPG controller is assigned to each channel, ensuring cooperative control via reward sharing and enhancing dynamic response and disturbance rejection. Additionally, long short-term memory (LSTM) and self-attention mechanisms are integrated into the policy and value networks to improve representation and decision-making. A piecewise combined reward function mitigates sparse rewards. Simulations show that, compared to MADQN-based and traditional LADRC methods, the proposed approach achieves superior control performance and significantly reduces manual parameter tuning efforts. DC-DC converter-based multi-bus DC microgrids(MGs) in series have received much attention, where the conflict between voltage recovery and current balancing has been a hot topic. The lack of models that accurately portray the electrical characteristics of actual MGs while is controller design-friendly has kept the issue active. To this end, this paper establishes a large-signal model containing the comprehensive dynamical behavior of the DC MGs based on the theory of high-order fully actuated systems, and proposes distributed optimal control based on this. The proposed secondary control method can achieve the two goals of voltage recovery and current sharing for multi-bus DC MGs. Additionally, the simple structure of the proposed approach is similar to one based on droop control, which allows this control technique to be easily implemented in a variety of modern microgrids with different configurations. In contrast to existing studies, the process of controller design in this paper is closely tied to the actual dynamics of the MGs. It is a prominent feature that enables engineers to customize the performance metrics of the system. In addition, the analysis of the stability of the closed-loop DC microgrid system, as well as the optimality and consensus of current sharing are given. Finally, a scaled-down solar and battery-based microgrid prototype with maximum power point tracking controller is developed in the laboratory to experimentally test the efficacy of the proposed control method.

Prescribed-Time Three-Dimensional Guidance for Maneuvering Targets with Field-of-View and Approach Angle Constraints

This paper presents a three-dimensional (3D) guidance law for homing missiles to intercept maneuvering targets, while ensuring a desired final approach angle and satisfying field-of-view (FOV) constraints. First, a line-of-sight (LOS) vector shaping method is introduced in the range domain. The desired approach angle and FOV constraint can be satisfied by precisely tracking a specified LOS vector profile. Then, a feedback guidance law is designed using a prescribed-time control technique for nullifying the LOS tracking errors. This guidance law employs an extended state observer to estimate and compensate for unknown target maneuvers, with a rigorous analysis conducted to ensure the stability of the entire system. Unlike existing studies, the proposed guidance law does not require linearization procedures and switching logic, which avoids discontinuous guidance command and facilitates practical implementation. Finally, extensive numerical simulations and comparison studies validate the effectiveness, robustness, and superiority of the proposed method. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

Aero-optic imaging deviation research is carried out for infrared-guided vehicle with cone-head side window,with a focus on the propagation characteristics of light in an aero-optic flow *** the light entering the aero-optic flow field from the free-stream should be close to the normal,numerous data indicate that the light is refracted away from the *** paper divides the aero-optic flow field into two parts and uses the gas density distribution in the aero-optic flow field to propose the hypothesis that there are two modes of refraction when light propagates through the flow *** results show that light propagates from the optically denser medium to the optically thinner medium after passing through the shock wave and eventually leads to refraction away from the normal when the light enters the aero-optic flow field.

The need for better search and rescue capabilities has led to the increased demand for collaborative aerial-ground multi-robot deployments. However, most existing solutions require high communication bandwidth or bulky sensor equipment that is not suitable especially for aerial robots. To make the execution of these tasks more efficient, this paper proposes an angle-specified heterogeneous leader-follower formation framework consisting of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying in a 3D space and ground robots moving in a 2D plane. The UAVs are controlled to maintain a desired angle-specified formation with the first three UAVs as the leaders forming a triangular shape and the remaining UAVs as the followers. The follower UAVs only need direction measurements to track the leader UAVs. For the ground robots, two leader robots track the UAV group and determine the orientation and scale of the ground formation, while the follower robots track the leader robots using only direction measurements. The proposed heterogeneous formation framework is energy-efficient as most robots only require low-cost and lightweight direction measurements. The stability of the proposed formation control algorithms is proved and validated through various physical application experiments. IEEE

Hybrid teaching combines traditional teaching and flipped classroom, which is a new teaching mode with the advantages of both modes. In hybrid teaching mode, reasonable allocation of credit hours between traditional teaching and flipped classroom is an important issue for the teaching work. This paper first proposes a method of using hierarchical analysis to allocate credit hours for hybrid teaching of Digital Electronic Technology courses. Firstly, we divided hybrid teaching into stage and content layers, and determined the various elements of stage and content layers. Secondly, the requirements of the Analytic Hierarchy Process were applied to organize these two levels, and pairwise importance comparisons were made for each element within the level. Index judgment matrices were established for the stage level and content level, respectively. Then, the calculation steps of the Analytic Hierarchy Process were designed, and matrix operations were used to obtain the normalized weights of each element in the stage and content layers of traditional teaching and flipped classrooms. This weight was used to determine the class hours to be allocated for each stage and content. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper were verified using the example of hybrid teaching hour allocation in Chapter 4 of the Digital Electronic Technology course at Tianjin University of Technology. © 2024 IEEE.
