The inspection of transmission equipment by UAV has become an indispensable daily operation and maintenance method for overhead transmission lines. The passive sensors installed on the power transmission equipment needs to complete all its data calculation tasks within a given period of time, and needs to store a certain amount of energy to maintain its normal operation afterwards. During the inspection work, the UAV provides energy for the sensor device, and calculates the data uploaded by the sensor device, and returns the result to the sensor after the calculation is completed. Aiming at the problem of limited UAV energy and short working time, this paper proposes a optimization problem through joint optimization of UAV trajectory, sensor data unloading, sensor wireless energy transmission and other factors. According to convex optimization theory, this optimization problem can be solved based on successive convex approximation (SCA) theory. Compared with the benchmark algorithm, the UAV obtained by the optimization plan in this paper has the lowest flight energy consumption, and as time increases, the advantages of the optimization plan in this paper become more obvious. The algorithm proposed in this paper effectively reduces the energy consumption of the UAV during the execution of the mission and improves the efficiency of the UAV inspection.

This paper proposes a Three-phase D-STATCOM with digital current control strategy in abc- reference frame. The proposal D-STATCOM does not use a PLL and the reactive power is transferred to the grid through controlling the D-STATCOM output current. The current controller has one zero and two poles. This type of controller is also known as Type-2 controller. The procedure to tune the controller is explained. The Conservative Power Theory (CPT) is used to compute the reactive power of the loads. A case study shows the behavior of the D-STACOM during initialization, during load transitions and during steady-state conditions. The results show the efficacy of the proposed D-STATCOM.

The induced draft (ID) fan is a significant piece of auxiliary equipment in thermal power plants. An early detection of possible faults in the ID fan may be used for effective predictive maintenance, thereby reducing the overall maintenance cost and improving the reliability and availability of thermal power plants. This paper proposed a genetic algorithm and long-short term memory network (GA-LSTM)-based condition monitoring approach using normal operation data of the ID fan. Furthermore, the LSTM network and the sliding window technique were introduced to construct double thresholds, which contains a dynamic threshold and a static threshold. The GA-LSTM-double thresholds method was applied to a coal-fired power plant to achieve early fault detection and diagnosis. The results demonstrates that the proposed method is capable of detecting minor anomalies in advance.

This paper investigates the security issue of the data replay attacks on the control systems. The attacker is assumed to interfere with the control system’s process in a steady-state case. The problem is presented as the standard way to attack, which is storing measurements and replay ing them in further times to the system. The controller is assumed to be the LQG controller. The main novelty in this paper can be stated as proposing a different attack detection criterion by using the Kullback-Leibler divergence method to cover more general control system problems with these attacks and with higher-order dynamics. Also, there exists a packet-dropout feature in transmitting the data as another contribution of the paper. Formulations and numerical simulations prove the effectiveness of the newly proposed attack detection procedure by having a quick response to occurred attacks. Although, in previous approaches, the trade-off between attack detection delay or LQG performance was significant, in this approach it is proved that the difference in this trade-off is not considered in early moments when the attack happens since the attack detection rate is rapid and thus, these attacks can be stopped with defense strategies in the first moments with the proposed attack detection criterion. Nowotny chimney ladder (NCL) crystals present physical properties in between the contrasting paradigms of ideal crystal and amorphous solid, making them promising candidates for thermoelectric applications due to their inherently low thermal conductivity. Here, we report an extensive experimental characterization of the thermodynamic and thermoelectric transport properties of a large class of NCL materials, focusing on the intermetallic compound Ru2Sn3−δ. We show that the heat capacity of these NCL compounds exhibits a boson-peak-like glassy anomaly between 8 K and 14 K. By combining experimental measurements with density functional theory (DFT), we attribute its microscopic origin to extremely soft optical phonons that universally appear as a consequence of the chimney ladder sublattice structure. Additionally, the measured thermal conductivity and the thermoelectric response present distinct anomalous glass-like features that strongly correlate with the dynamics of the abundant soft optical phonons revealed by DFT. Our work demonstrates that soft modes in ordered crystals can induce glassy behavior, outlining a pathway to design metallic materials with low thermal conductivity and unique thermoelectric properties without the need for disorder or strong electronic correlations. © 2025, CC BY.

An intermittent fault identification approach based on empirical mode decomposition(EMD) and hidden Markov model(HMM) to restrain false alarm for built-in test(BIT) caused by intermittent fault is proposed. Firstly, EMD is employed to decompose the original BIT signals which can reflect the fault feature, several energy-dominating intrinsic mode functions (IMF) are selected to extract the feature vector. Then extracted feature value are sent to the trained HMM for state recognition. The results show that the intermittent fault state can be effectively identified by the approach.

In transportation, the burning of fossil fuels is the leading cause of CO2 emissions, and it drastically affects the environment. So, there is a need to find out a renewable energy source for the transportation system, which makes the environment clean and green. This paper proposes a model of an electric vehicle which utilises the maximum energy from the sun and capable of charging their batteries while on parking or mobility. This proposed solar-based electric bus is equipped with 2520W flexible solar panel while on mobility, but also the 1440W flexible solar panel will be cover the windscreen and all the four windows of the solar electric vehicle while on the parking state. In this manner, the proposed solar electric vehicle will be charged more quickly by covering the maximum area by the flexible solar panel. The Matlab/Simulink model presented that by using the flexible solar panels, particularly at the parking, it provided extra charging to the battery and increasing its range up to several kilometres. Moreover, using this proposed solar-powered electric bus will reduce CO2 emission up to 5389.40 kg and saving the state grid power energy of 359.42 KWh per month.

With the development of information and communication technologies in smart grid, peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading for distributed energy resources (DER) has achieved an efficient two-way flow of information and power. The adoption of blockchain technology makes the P2P energy trading more secure and transparent. Considering that users with extra energy may be reluctant to participate in the energy trading due to privacy concerns, many researchers have focused on potential privacy issues. However, most of the existing works are built on top of a semi-decentralized energy blockchain in which only a few certified third-party nodes are authorized to manage and verify transactions - once these authorized nodes are attacked, the system will be threatened. In this paper, we use the Ciphertext Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) scheme to establish a blockchain based P2P energy trading approach with privacy preservation, which allows peer nodes, including sellers and purchasers, to manage and verify transactions autonomously without needing any additional third-party nodes. In addition, we introduce the redactable blockchain technology into our scheme to ensure users can modify their sensitive information uploaded to the blockchain. Furthermore, we improve the CP-ABE scheme to provide low latency in the system. The experimental evaluations show that our scheme is efficient and practical.

The analysis of the photospheric velocity field is essential for understanding plasma turbulence in the solar surface, which may be responsible for driving processes such as magnetic reconnection, flares, wave propagation, particle acceleration, and coronal heating. Currently, the only available methods to estimate velocities at the solar photosphere transverse to an observer’s line of sight infer flows from differences in image structure in successive observations. Due to data noise, algorithms such as local correlation tracking (LCT) may lead to a vector field with wide gaps where no velocity vectors are provided. In this letter, a novel method for image inpainting of highly corrupted data is proposed and applied to the restoration of horizontal velocity fields in the solar photosphere. The restored velocity field preserves all the vector field components present in the original field. The method shows robustness when applied to both simulated and observational data.
