This paper presents a distributed learning model predictive control (DLMPC) scheme for distributed linear time invariant systems with coupled dynamics and state constraints. The proposed solution method is based on an online distributed optimization scheme with nearest-neighbor communication. If the control task is iterative and data from previous feasible iterations are available, local data are exploited by the subsystems in order to construct the local terminal set and terminal cost, which guarantee recursive feasibility and asymptotic stability, as well as performance improvement over iterations. In case a first feasible trajectory is difficult to obtain, or the task is non-iterative, we further propose an algorithm that efficiently explores the state-space and generates the data required for the construction of the terminal cost and terminal constraint in the MPC problem in a safe and distributed way. In contrast to other distributed MPC schemes which use structured positive invariant sets, the proposed approach involves a control invariant set as the terminal set, on which we do not impose any distributed structure. The proposed iterative scheme converges to the global optimal solution of the underlying infinite horizon optimal control problem under mild conditions. Flash translation layer (FTL) is a part of software running on the NAND flash memory, which is ubiquitous in various devices. FTL algorithm hides the complexity of NAND flash characteristics and provides a simple and standard interface like magnetic disks. In this paper, we present a general and abstract formal model for FTL algorithms, define their functional correctness as refinement, and propose a verification framework. We demonstrate its use by verifying a classic FTL algorithm BAST. Our entire development has been formalized in the proof assistant Coq. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

Rail transportation, especially, high-speed rails (HSR), is an important infrastructure for the development of national economy and the promotion of passenger experience. Due to the large bandwidth, millimeter wave (mmWave) communication is regarded as a promising technology to meet the demand of high data rates. However, since mmWave communication has the characteristic of high attenuation, mobile relay (MR) is considered in this paper. Also, full-duplex (FD) communications have been proposed to improve the spectral efficiency. However, because of the high speed, as well as the problem of penetration loss, passengers on the train have a poor quality of service. Consequently, an effective user association scheme for HSR in mmWave band is necessary. In this paper, we investigate the user association optimization problem in mmWave mobile relay systems where the MRs operate in the FD mode. To maximize the system capacity, we propose a cooperative user association approach based on coalition formation game, and develop a coalition formation algorithm to solve the challenging NP-hard problem. We also prove the convergence and Nash-stable property of the proposed algorithm. Extensive simulations are done to show the system performance of the proposed scheme under various network settings. It is demonstrated that the proposed distributed low complexity scheme achieves a near-optimal performance and outperforms two baseline schemes in terms of average system throughput. This research study proposes a novel hyperchaotic finance system with profit margin and then utilizes the Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM) to tackle the solution of the associated Caputo-derivative based fractional-order hyperchaotic finance system with profit margin. Numerical simulations and analyses, such as the evaluation of Lyapunov exponents (LE), the creation of bifurcation diagrams (BD), the complexity analysis (CA), and the 0-1 test, are used to get a full picture of the system. The results of our study demonstrate the occurrence of periodic, chaotic, and hyperchaotic dynamics in the system. Furthermore, the overall criteria for the existence and the uniqueness of the exact solutions for Caputo fractional-order models are presented. In addition, we present a control methodology for the fractional-order hyperchaotic financial system utilizing the Laplace transform and linear feedback control. Significantly, our research showcases a noteworthy correlation between the analytical results and numerical simulations, emphasizing the soundness and effectiveness of our methodology. © 2024 The Author(s)

Load forecasting is an important guarantee for power system design, planning and operation. In order to further improve the accuracy of power load forecasting, a combined forecasting model based on gating recurrent neural network (GRU) and limit gradient lifting (XGBoost) is proposed. Firstly, according to the load data and the input structure of GRU and XGBoost models, the data are preprocessed, and the preprocessed data are input into the corresponding model respectively. Then, the model is weighted by entropy weight method to obtain the predicted value of the final combination model. Finally, the first mock exam is used to compare the combination forecasting model with the common forecasting models. The results show that the proposed method can effectively combine the advantages of the two models, and take into account the continuous time series and discontinuous feature variables, which is more accurate than the single model and the common forecasting models.

Toward HAZOP 4.0 Approach for Managing the Complexities of the Hazard and Operability of an Industrial Polymerization Reactor

Conventional HAZOP is a collaborative and multidisciplinary activity to identify the hazards associated to operability of the chemical processes. Then the consequences and required safeguards of each potential deviation or failure are assessed qualitatively one by one. It is performed with the assumption of "one failure at the time" for the process parameters. Furthermore, process complexities such as multiple failures, domino effects, time and amplitude dependent deviations etc. are avoided to keep the HAZOP brainstorming sessions systematic and effective. Therefore, the quality and outcomes of HAZOP study are relatively subjective and depend on the experience and competency of the HAZOP team. This simplified approach cannot fully cover the hazard identification and risk assessment of the complex processes such as polymerization. Furthermore, the incident investigations show that almost all major accidents have occurred due to multiple failures or domino effects. This paper aims at developing a practical methodology in the context of "Industry 4.0" and particularly illustrate how dynamic simulation liberates the HAZOP team from the simplification assumptions such as one failure at the time or neglecting the domino effects during the lifecycle of the complex processes. An industrial styrene bulk free radical polymerization process has been chosen as the case study to depict the applicability of the proposed method. In continuation of this research, the dynamic simulation integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and Multivariable Process Monitoring (MPM) together with virtual collaboration tools will be invoked towards a more practical and effective HAZOP 4.0 platform. Such a platform can be the foundation of the further Process Safety Management (PSM) elements such as "Operating manuals", "Training and Competency management", "Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance", "Management of Change", "Pre-Start-up Safety Review", etc.

Application of Virtual Reality Technology in the Maintenance of Steam Turbine

Traditional steam turbine maintenance work has many shortcomings, such as poor effectiveness, high cost, and long cycle. In order to solve this problem and improve the professional skills and maintenance efficiency of steam turbine maintenance personnel, we first collect steam turbine equipment drawings and 3D dimension data of parts, and use 3D modeling software to establish augmented reality scene model. Then combined with the virtual reality technology and image fusion technology to realize the maintenance procedure training and maintenance auxiliary guidance of the steam turbine unit. The practical application results show that this technology can realize the virtual and real operation of the model by users in augmented reality scenes, bring interactive and immersive experience to operators, and improve the work efficiency of maintenance personnel.

We propose a distributed method to solve a multi-agent optimization problem with strongly convex cost function and equality coupling constraints. The method is based on Nesterov's accelerated gradient approach and works over stochastically time-varying communication networks. We consider the standard assumptions of Nesterov's method and show that the sequence of the expected dual values converge toward the optimal value with the rate of O(1/k 2 ). Furthermore, we provide a simulation study of solving an optimal power flow problem with a well-known benchmark case.

Robot networks are susceptible to fail under the presence of malicious or defective robots. Resilient networks in the literature require high connectivity and large communication ranges, leading to high energy consumption in the communication network. This paper presents robot formations with guaranteed resiliency that use smaller communication ranges than previous results in the literature. The formations can be built on triangular and square lattices in the plane, and cubic lattices in the three-dimensional space. We support our theoretical framework with simulations.
