In deep network-based steel surface defect detection models, using only serial convolution operations can hinder the detection of small defects due to insufficient multi-scale detail information. To address this issue, a detection model based on joint multi-dimensional atrous convolution (JMDC) is proposed. By introducing atrous convolution with various kernel sizes into the feature extraction layer, a multi-channel parallel convolution chain is constructed to capture multi-scale defect features, enhancing the detail perception. Subsequently, a JMDC operator, generated from the residual network, fuses these features and establishes a channel constraint to improve the training stability and global feature extraction. Then by integrating the JMDC into the multi-level feature extraction layers, the improved YOLOv5 realizes the detection enhancement for the multi-scale defects. Correspondingly, the k-means algorithm is adopted to generate adaptive multi-scale anchor boxes with the reduction of the positional deviation. Experimental results show that the proposed approach has provided a detection accuracy of 81.7% on the NEU-DET dataset, yielding a significant improvement on the defect detection, especially for small targets. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of photovoltaic power generation, the fault of photovoltaic array is receiving increasing attention. In response to this issue, proposes an online monitoring photovoltaic array fault diagnosis algorithm based on Support Vector Machines. Firstly, collect the voltage and current of the photovoltaic array for feature extraction. Next, the extracted feature data is normalized and input into a SVM to train the classifier and identify and judge the faults that occur. In the experiment, simulation datasets were used for testing, and online detection and verification were conducted on the real datasets generated by the actual prototype. The results showed that this method can effectively diagnose photovoltaic array faults, with high accuracy and reliability. The online detection photovoltaic array fault diagnosis method based on support vector machine proposed in this paper has high fault detection rate and accuracy, which can provide technical support and guarantee for the maintenance and management of photovoltaic power generation system. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper mainly studies the longitudinal speed tracking problem of driverless heavy-duty trucks based on data-driven methods. A data-driven adaptive optimal control algorithm with control input saturation constraints is proposed in this paper to solve the problems of control input saturation and difficulty in establishing an accurate model in driverless heavy-duty truck systems. First, control constraints are added to the control input saturation problem of driverless heavy-duty trucks. Then, the dynamic linearization technology is used to model the nonlinear system of driverless heavy-duty trucks. After that, an appropriate index function is selected and the Newton-type optimization method is used to obtain the optimal controller. The method proposed in this paper only uses a small amount of input and output data and does not need to establish an accurate mathematical model. The simulation results show that compared with the PID algorithm, the proposed algorithm has advantages in speed tracking when applied to driverless heavy-duty truck systems. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. This paper addresses the control synthesis of heterogeneous stochastic linear multi-agent systems with realtime allocation of signal temporal logic (STL) specifications. Based on previous work, we decompose specifications into subspecifications on the individual agent level. To leverage the efficiency of task allocation, a heuristic filter evaluates potential task allocation based on STL robustness, and subsequently, an auctioning algorithm determines the definitive allocation of specifications. Finally, a control strategy is synthesized for each agent-specification pair using tube-based model predictive control (MPC), ensuring provable probabilistic satisfaction. We demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed methods using a multi-shuttle scenario that highlights a promising extension to automated driving applications like vehicle routing. © 2024 IEEE.

The adaptive practical prescribed-time (PPT) neural control is studied for multiinput multioutput (MIMO) nonlinear systems with unknown nonlinear functions and unknown input gain matrices. Unlike existing PPT design schemes based on backstepping, this study proposes a novel PPT control framework using the dynamic surface control (DSC) approach. First, a novel nonlinear filter (NLF) with an adaptive parameter estimator and a piecewise function is constructed to effectively compensate for filter errors and facilitate prescribed-time convergence. Based on this, a unified DSC-based adaptive PPT control algorithm, augmented with a neural networks (NNs) approximator, is developed, where NNs are used to approximate unknown nonlinear system functions. This algorithm not only addresses the inherent computational complexity explosion associated with traditional backstepping methods but also reduces the constraints on filter design parameters compared to the DSC algorithm that relies on linear filters. The simulation showcases the effectiveness and superiority of the devised scheme by employing a two-degree-of-freedom robot manipulator. © 2024 IEEE.

We introduce a constructive function approximation approach as a general tool, particularly useful in adaptive and data-driven methods for perception and control. The key idea is to estimate of a collection of simple local models as opposed to a single and complex regression model trained in the entire input space. We use principles from the Online Deterministic Annealing (ODA) optimization framework to construct an adaptive partition of the input space, which enables the introduction of local function approximation models within each subset of the partition. We show that both the partitioning and the local model training algorithms are stochastic approximation algorithms that operate online, and with the same observations, as part of a two-timescale stochastic approximation scheme. This process constitutes a heuristic method to gradually increase the complexity of the function approximation framework in a task-agnostic manner, giving emphasis to regions of the input space where the regression error is high. As a result this framework has inherent explainability properties, and is suitable for continuous learning applications where regression improvement without retraining from scratch is crucial. Simulation results illustrate the properties of the proposed approach. © 2024 IEEE.

Prescribed-Time Mitigation of False Data Attacks in Microgrid Load Frequency control

Microgrid load frequency control (LFC) operation relies extensively on cyber networks which significantly increases their susceptibility to false data injection attacks (FDIAs) that can undermine microgrid’s stability. This paper proposes a multi-layer control framework that efficiently detects and mitigates false data injected in the actuator and measurements of the LFC. Firstly, an FDIAs detection layer based on an unknown input observer (UIO) utilizing an adaptive threshold has been proposed. An adaptive threshold aims to enhance detection sensitivity and reduce false alarms by distinguishing between actual attacks and temporal discrepancies in observer error caused by internal disturbances. Secondly, to ensure timely and accurate mitigation of FDIAs, an estimation layer utilizing a prescribed-time unknown input observer (PTUIO) has been designed. PTUIO is designed to be robust against unknown inputs and parameter uncertainty. The PTUIO employs periodic time-delayed output to estimate system states and FDIAs within a predefined time. Afterward, a two-layer robust and resilient LFC system was developed. The first layer ensures the rejection of unknown inputs, including load/generation disturbances and FDIAs based on PTUIO estimations. The second layer incorporates robust state feedback control, which stabilizes the microgrid and accurately tracks the frequency reference. The effectiveness of the proposed control system is confirmed through multiple scenarios by simulations and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), demonstrating its robustness and reliability in addressing challenges associated with internal disturbances, and FDIAs within the microgrid. © 2010-2012 IEEE.
