The multiple-predecessor following (MPF) topology is used in vehicle platoons to make it robustly string stable and reduce the minimum employable time headway. It has been demonstrated that communication imperfections such as time delays coming from wireless communications can affect string stability as well as the minimum time headway required to guarantee string stability. Specifically, it was shown that the larger the time delay, the longer the minimum time headway will be. However, by utilizing on-board vehicle sensors, such as radar, lidar and cameras, the distance and speed of nearby vehicles can be measured almost instantaneously, i.e., with almost no delay. Another effective parameter on string stability and minimum time headway is the heterogeneity of the vehicles. Due to the immense complexity of the MPF topology, string stability analysis of this topology in literature has been confined to homogeneous platoons. In this paper, we consider the case of heterogeneous platoons under the MPF topology with the use of the combination of sensors and wireless communications for receiving information. Following that, we find conditions to guarantee the internal and string stability for the heterogeneous case and propose the minimum time headway required to guarantee string stability. Finally, we provide a table, in which we propose the minimum time headway for two other wireless communication scenarios as well: (i) having no communication delay and (ii) having fully-delayed information, i.e., all information, whether it comes from the ego vehicle or its predecessors, is delayed. In addition to exploring the analysis of string stability for the vehicles with more possible connections (vehicles after the $r^{th}$ vehicle, when information from $r$ immediate vehicles is used), we study the string stability conditions (with which we aim at avoiding collisions) and find the minimum time headway for the first few vehicles (vehicle $r$ and all its predecessors). The investigation of motor imagery (MI)-based brain-computer interface (BCI) is vital to the domains of human-computer interaction and rehabilitation. Few existing studies on electroencephalogram(EEG) signals decoding based on MI consider any distractions. However, it is difficult for users to do a single MI task in real life, which is especially affected by visual distraction. In this paper, we aim to investigate the effects of visual distraction on MI decoding performance. We first design a noval MI paradigm under visual distraction and observe distinct patterns of event-related desynchronization (ERD) and event-related synchronization (ERS) in MI under visual distraction. Then, we propose a robust decoding method of MI under visual distraction from EEG signals by using the feature map attention EEGNet (named FMA-EEGNet) and use EEG data under conditions without and with distraction to compare the decoding performance of five methods (including the proposed method and other methods). The results demonstrate that FMA-EEGNet achieved mean accuracy of 89.1% and 82.2% without and with visual distraction, respectively, indicating superior performance compared to other methods while exhibiting minimal degradation in performance. This work contributes significantly to the advancement of practical applications in MI-BCI technology. © 2024 IEEE.

Dual-super satellite is a new type of spacecraft structure that separates the satellite platform and payload, and blocks the transmission of micro-vibrations from the platform through mechanical isolation to provide an ultra-precise and ultra-stable payload environment. However, the cable used for energy supply and communication of the payload has an impact on the pointing performance of the payload. In order to solve the uncertainty of the payload dynamics model brought by the flexible cable and the low-frequency bounded interference problem, this paper proposes a sliding mode adaptive control method for the payload under the influence of cables. A feedforward compensation algorithm based on partial state observer is designed for bounded disturbance of satellite platform. The control method presented in this paper ensures the pointing performance of the payload during agile maneuvers, and demonstrates robustness against model uncertainty and low-frequency disturbances caused by cables through simulation studies. © The Author(s) Hangzhou 310023, under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Microgrids equipped with hybrid energy storage systems (ESSs) are increasingly critical for balancing the intermittency of renewable energy sources (RESs) and the fluctuations in demand. This paper introduces a novel Multi-Agent Imitation Learning (MAIL) framework for real-time energy management in microgrids, particularly under real-time pricing conditions. The approach leverages a problem decomposition strategy, which separates the energy management task into two phases: first, optimal actions for each ESS are estimated using individual agents, each employing a deep neural network (DNN) trained to emulate an ideal mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) solver;then, a one-step online optimization reacts to these decisions to optimize the remaining system components holistically. Rigorous proofs establish the equivalence of the decomposed subproblems to the original optimization problem, ensuring integrity and effectiveness. Comparative simulation studies with real-world data reveal that our MAIL framework offers significant cost advantages and superior training efficiency relative to both traditional single and emerging multi-agent reinforcement learning (RL) methods. Notably, the operational costs achieved through our approach are markedly lower than those of its counterparts, closely approximating the theoretical minimum. This underscores the method's proficiency and its potential as an effective solution for microgrid energy management. Moreover, the MAIL strategy's multi-agent design allows for straightforward scalability to more extensive systems involving multiple ESSs and shows promising potential for cooperative management across interconnected microgrids. © 2014 IEEE.

To maximize energy profit with the participation of electricity,natural gas,and district heating networks in the day-ahead market,stochastic scheduling of energy hubs taking into account the uncertainty of photovoltaic and wind resources,has been carried *** has been done using a new meta-heuristic algorithm,improved artificial rabbits optimization(IARO).In this study,the uncertainty of solar and wind energy sources is modeled using Hang’s two-point estimating method(TPEM).The IARO algorithm is applied to calculate the best capacity of hub energy equipment,such as solar and wind renewable energy sources,combined heat and power(CHP)systems,steamboilers,energy storage,and electric cars in the *** standard ARO algorithmis developed to mimic the foraging behavior of rabbits,and in this work,the algorithm’s effectiveness in avoiding premature convergence is improved by using the dystudynamic inertia weight *** proposed IARO-based scheduling framework’s performance is evaluated against that of traditional ARO,particle swarm optimization(PSO),and salp swarm algorithm(SSA).The findings show that,in comparison to previous approaches,the suggested meta-heuristic scheduling framework based on the IARO has increased energy profit in day-ahead electricity,gas,and heating markets by satisfying the operational and energy hub ***,the results show that TPEM approach dependability consideration decreased hub energy’s profit by 8.995%as compared to deterministic planning.

Lithium-ion power battery is the "heart" of electric *** is significant to diagnose the battery fault quickly and accurately.A real-time data driven diagnosis approach for early battery faults based on improved principal component analysis is proposed in this *** technique rotates the battery pack voltage sequence into a new coordinate space through linear combination,while the detection metrics of square prediction errors and modified contribution plots are employed to achieve minor fault *** addition,the training sample of this method relies on the voltage sequence of the battery health state instead of the battery fault data which is difficult to *** experimental results demonstrate that this approach can not only locate the battery cell where the fault occurs,but also diagnose the open-circuit and short-circuit faults of the battery as well as the occurrence and duration of the fault in ***,the feasibility and robustness of the proposed method are verified by applying different experimental *** summary,the presented approach provides an easy-to-implement option that does not require accurate mathematical modeling,expert understanding,and complex computational processes.

In realistic distributed optimization scenarios, individual nodes possess only partial information and communicate over bandwidth constrained channels. For this reason, the development of efficient distributed algorithms is essential. In our paper we addresses the challenge of unconstrained distributed optimization. In our scenario each node's local function exhibits strong convexity with Lipschitz continuous gradients. The exchange of information between nodes occurs through 3-bit bandwidth-limited channels (i.e., nodes exchange messages represented by a only 3 -bits). Our proposed algorithm respects the network's bandwidth constraints by leveraging zoom-in and zoom-out operations to adjust quantizer parameters dynamically. We show that during our algorithm's operation nodes are able to converge to the exact optimal solution. Furthermore, we show that our algorithm achieves a linear convergence rate to the optimal solution. We conclude the paper with simulations that highlight our algorithm's unique characteristics. © 2024 IEEE.

Dear Editor, This letter investigates the prescribed-time stabilization of linear singularly perturbed systems. Due to the numerical issues caused by the small perturbation parameter, the off-the-shelf control design techniques for the prescribed-time stabilization of regular linear systems are typically not suitable here. To solve the problem, the decoupling transformation techniques for time-varying singularly perturbed systems are combined with linear time-varying high gain feedback design techniques.
