In recent years, neural architecture search (NAS) has marked significant advancements, yet its efficacy is marred by the dependence on substantial computational resources. To mitigate this, the development of NAS benchmarks has emerged, offering datasets that enumerate all potential network architectures and their performances within a predefined search space. Nonetheless, these benchmarks predominantly focus on convolutional architectures, which are criticized for their limited interpretability and suboptimal hardware efficiency. Recognizing the untapped potential of spiking neural networks (SNNs)—often hailed as the third generation of neural networks due to their biological realism and computational thrift—this study introduces SpikeNAS-Bench. As a pioneering benchmark for SNN, SpikeNAS-Bench utilizes a cell-based search space, integrating leaky integrate-and-fire neurons with variable thresholds as candidate operations. It encompasses 15 625 candidate architectures, rigorously evaluated on CIFAR10, CIFAR100, and Tiny-ImageNet datasets. This article delves into the architectural nuances of SpikeNAS-Bench, leveraging various criteria to underscore the benchmark's utility and presenting insights that could steer future NAS algorithm designs. Moreover, we assess the benchmark's consistency through three distinct proxy types: zero-cost-based, early-stop-based, and predictor-based proxies. Additionally, the article benchmarks seven contemporary NAS algorithms to attest to SpikeNAS-Bench's broad applicability. We commit to providing training logs, diagnostic data for all candidate architectures, and we promise to release all code and datasets postacceptance, aiming to catalyze further exploration and innovation within the SNN domain. © 2020 IEEE.

The electromagnetic interference (EMI) problem caused by power electronic switching devices and pulse width modulation (PWM) affects the normal operation of the motor drive system. In this paper, a random PWM based on unified modulation is proposed for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive system. The theoretical basis of unified modulation and the implementation scheme of random modulation are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed random PWM is verified by simulation. © 2024 IEEE.

The advent of smart manufacturing in Industry 4.0 signifies the arrival of the era of connections. As an excellent communication protocol, Object linking and embedding for Process control Unified Architecture (OPC UA) can address most semantic heterogeneity issues. However, its semantics are not formally defined at the application layer. To address the information silo problem caused by semantic heterogeneity, a method named Querying of Ontology Mapping-based OPC UA (QOMOU) is proposed. It extracts the information models of OPC UA servers into resource description framework triples, utilizes web ontology language for semantic enrichment and inference, and employs a semantic similarity model for event ontology mapping to improve query efficiency. The method's effectiveness is validated through functional queries using the SPARQL protocol in Apache Jena. The query efficiency is 5% higher on average compared to both structured query and extensible markup languages. Moreover, by employing a keyword-matching algorithm, the query accuracy of the existing heterogeneous data integration scheme is improved by 4% on average. This enhancement can boost the operational efficiency of Internet of Things systems based on the OPC UA architecture. © 2024 IEEE.

Power electronic switching devices and pulse width modulation (PWM) not only improves the performance of motor drive systems, but also brings about common-mode voltage (CMV) issues, that challenging the normal operation of the system. This article proposes a zero common-mode voltage modulation strategy based on unified voltage modulation for a 60° Y-connected six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor system driven by a dual three-phase inverter. The theoretical basis and zero common-mode implementation scheme of unified modulation are analyzed, and the effectiveness of the proposed zero common-mode voltage modulation strategy is finally verified through simulation. © 2024 IEEE.

Most factories use automatic dispensing machines for workpiece sealing, and the processing efficiency is very high. The traditional manual detection is inefficient and costly. Besides, the rate of false detection and missed detection of defect products remains high. In view of this problem, this paper proposes a glue line defect detection model based on Yolov5 and the self-built workpiece defect data set is used for the research. Firstly, some conventional convolution modules in Backbone network are replaced with the corresponding deformable convolution modules to improve the generalization ability of the model. Then in order to improve the feature extraction ability of the model, the coordinate attention module is embedded in the Backbone network. The results show that the mean average precision of the proposed algorithm can reach 95.62%, which is greatly higher than initial Yolov5 algorithm. And the detection rate reaches 28.67 FPS, which can meet the real time detection. © 2023 IEEE.

In the field of security monitoring, the detection of targets in low-light nighttime images is essential for identifying potential security threats. However, this task is challenged by factors such as increased noise, loss of detail, and reduced contrast, which often result in the suboptimal performance of existing detection algorithms under these conditions. To address these challenges, this study introduces an enhanced model based on YOLOv8, termed ALIEN-YOLO. This model incorporates the Adaptive Edge Extraction Low-light Image Enhancement Network (ALIEN), which is specifically designed to mitigate noise and enhance contrast. Additionally, it integrates the Head Depthwise Convolution Attention (HDCA) module to improve the detection of small and occluded objects, and the C2F-SH module, which is optimized with a Shrinkage mechanism to enhance robustness and accuracy through denoising. Experimental evaluations conducted on the ExDark and DARK FACE datasets demonstrated that the improved model achieved a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 81.2% and 54.3%, respectively, indicating a significant enhancement over the baseline YOLOv8. Notably, despite the integration of multiple modules, the model maintains a real-time processing capability of 60 frames per second. These findings underscore the effectiveness of the proposed ALIEN-YOLO model in enhancing target detection performance in low-light conditions, thereby underscoring its potential value for practical applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Water quality prediction methods forecast the future short or long-term trends of its changes, providing proactive advice for water pollution prevention and control. Existing water quality prediction methods only consider the historical data of single-type or multi-type water quality. However, meteorology and other factors also have a significant impact on water quality indicators. Therefore, only considering the historical data of water quality is not feasible. Unlike existing studies, this work proposes a hybrid water quality prediction model called CMI to solve the above problem. Before prediction, CMI incorporates a multimodal fusion mechanism of water quality time series and remote sensing images of meteorological rainfall. Moreover, CMI integrates the model of ConvNeXt V2 and a multimodal bottleneck transformer to extract image features for fusing the time series and images. Furthermore, it utilizes an emerging model of iTransformer to realize prediction with the fused features. Experimental results with real-life water quality time series and remotely sensed rainfall images demonstrate that CMI outperforms other state-of-the-art fusion algorithms, and the water quality prediction accuracy with fused meteorological data is 13% higher on average than that with only water quality time series. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, wide bandgap semiconductor devices such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) have been increasingly applied in electric drive systems, effectively enhancing system power density. However, the high-frequency and high-speed characteristics of SiC devices exacerbate electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues within the system. Additionally, the cables in electric drive systems exhibit significant antenna effects, radiating conducted EMI into the surrounding space, thereby affecting the normal operation of other sensitive equipment. Therefore, it is essential to research motor drive system topologies that can actively suppress EMI and predict radiated interference in motor drive systems. The topology of a four-module motor paired with parallel inverters can achieve active suppression of EMI at the source. This paper conducts a simulation-based prediction of radiated interference for a parallel inverter-driven four-module motor system. It analyzes the coupling mechanisms of common mode and differential mode radiated interference and validates the radiated interference from both DC and AC cables through simulations, predicting the impact on surrounding sensitive equipment in practical systems. © 2024 IEEE.
