Clever system that can look at pictures of fruits and figure out what kind of fruit each picture shows. AI algorithms like deep learning, which is like giving the Machine learning model a crash course in fruit recognition. This method teaches the ML Model we clearly explained the Model using application's agent using PEAS and the application's task environment using the 6 dimensions by showing it tons of fruit images, so over time, it gets really good at spotting the differences and similarities between, say, a banana and a grape. We also used another technique called pattern recognition, which helps the computer pay attention to specific details like the fruit's color, shape, size and texture. Overcoming multiple obstacles in order to automatically identify the type of fruit from the picture. The variety of images is influencing the color, texture, and shape of many different types of fruits. When it came to fruit picture detection, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) Algorithm outperformed standard support-vector-machine-based approaches using handcrafted features in terms of accuracy also, it is a lot faster to implement for new fruits. By integrating deep learning and pattern recognition techniques such as Convolutional Neural Network Algorithm we have got the accuracy of 84%, our system efficiently identified different fruit types from images, demonstrating the power and effectiveness of our methods. The goal of our project is to create a tool that can quickly and correctly identify many types of fruits in photos, which could be useful for things like sorting fruits in a grocery store or helping people learn about different fruits by using Convolutional Neural Network Algorithm. This is not just about teaching a computer to recognize fruits;it is about making technology that can understand and interact with the world in a way that is helpful to us. © 2025 IEEE.

Effort-aware cross-project just-in-time defect prediction framework for mobile apps

As the boom of mobile devices,Android mobile apps play an irreplaceable roles in people’s daily life,which have the characteristics of frequent updates involving in many code commits to meet new ***-in-Time(JIT)defect prediction aims to identify whether the commit instances will bring defects into the new release of apps and provides immediate feedback to developers,which is more suitable to mobile *** the within-app defect prediction needs sufficient historical data to label the commit instances,which is inadequate in practice,one alternative method is to use the cross-project *** this work,we propose a novel method,called KAL,for cross-project JIT defect prediction task in the context of Android mobile *** specifically,KAL first transforms the commit instances into a high-dimensional feature space using kernel-based principal component analysis technique to obtain the representative ***,the adversarial learning technique is used to extract the common feature embedding for the model *** conduct experiments on 14 Android mobile apps and employ four effort-aware indicators for performance *** results on 182 cross-project pairs demonstrate that our proposed KAL method obtains better performance than 20 comparative methods.

The power optimization of mixed polarity Reed–Muller(MPRM)logic circuits is a classic combinatorial optimization *** optimization approaches often suffer from slow convergence and a propensity to converge to local optima,limiting their effectiveness in achieving optimal power ***,we propose a novel multi-strategy fusion memetic algorithm(MFMA).MFMA integrates global exploration via the chimp optimization algorithm with local exploration using the coati optimization algorithm based on the optimal position learning and adaptive weight factor(COA-OLA),complemented by population management through truncation ***,leveraging MFMA,we propose a power optimization approach for MPRM logic circuits that searches for the best polarity configuration to minimize circuit *** results based on Microelectronics Center of North Carolina(MCNC)benchmark circuits demonstrate significant improvements over existing power optimization *** achieves a maximum power saving rate of 72.30%and an average optimization rate of 43.37%;it searches for solutions faster and with higher quality,validating its effectiveness and superiority in power optimization.

On-line transaction processing(OLTP)systems rely on transaction logging and quorum-based consensus protocol to guarantee durability,high availability and strong *** makes the log manager a key component of distributed database management systems(DDBMSs).The leader of DDBMSs commonly adopts a centralized logging method to writing log entries into a stable storage device and uses a constant log replication strategy to periodically synchronize its state to *** the advent of new hardware and high parallelism of transaction processing,the traditional centralized design of logging limits scalability,and the constant trigger condition of replication can not always maintain optimal performance under dynamic *** this paper,we propose a new log manager named Salmo with scalable logging and adaptive replication for distributed database *** scalable logging eliminates centralized contention by utilizing a highly concurrent data structure and speedy log hole *** kernel of adaptive replication is an adaptive log shipping method,which dynamically adjusts the number of log entries transmitted between leader and followers based on the real-time *** implemented and evaluated Salmo in the open-sourced transaction processing systems Cedar and *** results show that Salmo scales well by increasing the number of working threads,improves peak throughput by 1.56×and reduces latency by more than 4×over log replication of Raft,and maintains efficient and stable performance under dynamic workloads all the time.

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have been the driving force behind many of the recent advances in machine learning. However, research has shown that DNNs are vulnerable to adversarial examples - input samples that have been perturbed to force DNN-based models to make errors. As a result, adversarial machine learning (AdvML) has gained a lot of attention, and researchers have investigated these vulnerabilities in various settings and modalities. In addition, DNNs have also been found to incorporate embedded bias and often produce unexplainable predictions, which can result in antisocial AI applications. The emergence of new AI technologies that leverage large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT and GPT-4, increases the risk of producing antisocial applications at scale. AdvML for social good (AdvML4G) is an emerging field that repurposes the AdvML bug to invent prosocial applications. Regulators, practitioners, and researchers should collaborate to encourage the development of prosocial applications and hinder the development of antisocial ones. In this work, we provide the first comprehensive review of the emerging field of AdvML4G. This paper encompasses a taxonomy that highlights the emergence of AdvML4G, a discussion of the differences and similarities between AdvML4G and AdvML, a taxonomy covering social good-related concepts and aspects, an exploration of the motivations behind the emergence of AdvML4G at the intersection of ML4G and AdvML, and an extensive summary of the works that utilize AdvML4G as an auxiliary tool for innovating prosocial applications. Finally, we elaborate upon various challenges and open research issues that require significant attention from the research community. © 2020 IEEE.

Document-level Relation Extraction (DocRE) aims to identify relationships between entity pairs within a document. However, most existing methods assume a uniform label distribution, resulting in suboptimal performance on real-world, imbalanced datasets. To tackle this challenge, we propose a novel data augmentation approach using generative models to enhance data from the embedding space. Our method leverages the Variational Autoencoder (VAE) architecture to capture all relation-wise distributions formed by entity pair representations and augment data for underrepresented relations. To better capture the multi-label nature of DocRE, we parameterize the VAE's latent space with a Diffusion Model. Additionally, we introduce a hierarchical training framework to integrate the proposed VAE-based augmentation module into DocRE systems. Experiments on two benchmark datasets demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art models, effectively addressing the long-tail distribution problem in DocRE. Learning in sinusoidal spaces with physics-informed neural networks

A physics-informed neural network (PINN) uses physics-Augmented loss functions, e.g., incorporating the residual term from governing partial differential equations (PDEs), to ensure its output is consistent with fundamental physics laws. However, it turns out to be difficult to train an accurate PINN model for many problems in practice. In this article, we present a novel perspective of the merits of learning in sinusoidal spaces with PINNs. By analyzing behavior at model initialization, we first show that a PINN of increasing expressiveness induces an initial bias around flat output functions. Notably, this initial solution can be very close to satisfying many physics PDEs, i.e., falling into a localminimum of the PINN loss that onlyminimizes PDE residuals, while still being far from the true solution that jointly minimizes PDE residuals and the initial and/or boundary conditions. It is difficult for gradient descent optimization to escape from such a local minimum trap, often causing the training to stall. We then prove that the sinusoidalmapping of inputs-in an architecture we label as sf-PINN-is effective to increase input gradient variability, thus avoiding being trapped in such deceptive local minimum. The level of variability can be effectively modulated to match high-frequency patterns in the problem at hand. A key facet of this article is the comprehensive empirical study that demonstrates the efficacy of learning in sinusoidal spaces with PINNs for a wide range of forward and inversemodeling problems spanning multiple physics domains.
