As the most widely distributed vegetation type on Earth, grasslands are the second largest ecosystem after forests, and are known as the 'skin of the earth'. However, the frequency of rodent infestation has been increasing year by year in recent years due to climate change, loose soil and other factors. As the current traditional monitoring methods are time-consuming and laborious, while the deep learning method has the advantages of low cost, high efficiency and high accuracy. Therefore, this paper proposes a combination of UAV remote sensing and deep learning methods to monitor grassland mouse hole. First, because there is no publicly available grassland mouse hole dataset, this study used a UAV to capture images to create a grassland mouse hole dataset. Second, an improved YOLOv7 model, YOLOAPM, is proposed with the goal of improving the accuracy of small target recognition. Through ablation and comparison experiments, the validity of the improved model as well as the method of this paper are verified to be improved compared to other models. Finally, in order to facilitate the monitoring task of the researchers, a monitoring system is established and the mouse hole identification of this paper is embedded into the system. © 2024 IEEE.

Hypergraphs provide a superior modeling frame-work for representing complex multidimensional relationships in the context of real-world interactions that often occur in groups, overcoming the limitations of traditional homogeneous graphs. However, there have been few studies on hypergraph-based contrastive learning, and existing graph-based contrastive learning methods have not been able to fully exploit the high-order correlation information in hypergraphs. Here, we propose a Hypergraph Fine-grained contrastive learning (HyFi) method designed to exploit the complex high-dimensional information inherent in hypergraphs. While avoiding traditional graph augmentation methods that corrupt the hypergraph topology, the proposed method provides a simple and efficient learning augmentation function by adding noise to node features. Furthermore, we expands beyond the traditional dichotomous relationship between positive and negative samples in contrastive learning by introducing a new relationship of weak positives. It demonstrates the importance of fine-graining positive samples in contrastive learning. Therefore, HyFi is able to produce high-quality embeddings, and outperforms both supervised and unsupervised baselines in average rank on node classification across 10 datasets. Our approach effectively exploits high-dimensional hypergraph information, shows significant improvement over existing graph-based contrastive learning methods, and is efficient in terms of training speed and GPU memory cost. The development of the industrial Internet of Things and smart grid networks has emphasized the importance of secure smart grid communication for the future of electric power transmission. However, the current deployment of smart meters and wireless communication methods presents several security concerns that must be addressed to ensure sustainable and resilient smart grid networks for Industry 5.0, with a focus on consumer-centric technologies. In this context, we propose a privacy-focused authentication solution for secure consumer-centric demand response management in smart grid networks, incorporating consumer electronics. Our proposed protocol utilizes blockchain-based authentication to enhance resistance against potential attacks and ensure the integrity of demand response data. Additionally, we have incorporated a PUF to prevent physical attacks. We have conducted informal and formal security analyses to verify the effectiveness of our proposed protocol against various threats and to confirm the session key security. Our comparison study has demonstrated that our protocol provides superior security and added functionalities, with lower computation and communication costs compared to similar protocols. Furthermore, we have measured the computational time for implementing the blockchain component of our protocol while considering the impact of varying numbers of block additions and transactions per block. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Graphics rendering on web browsers serves as the foundation for numerous web applications. Compared with the widely employed WebGL, the next-generation web graphics API, WebGPU, demonstrates an enhanced capacity to adapt to modern GPU features, boasting more significant potential. However, our experiment shows that the performance of current graphics rendering frameworks based on WebGPU lags behind those built on WebGL. Such discrepancy primarily arises from an incomplete alignment with WebGPU's distinctive features. The individual rendering of each graphic leads to redundant communication between the CPU and GPU. To enhance the graphics performance on the web, we introduce the FusionRender to harness the power of WebGPU. To mitigate redundant communication, FusionRender assigns a unique signature to each object and employs these signatures for grouping, enabling the consolidation of graphics rendering whenever possible. In simulated experiments involving the rendering of multiple objects, FusionRender improves the rendering performance by 29.3%-122.1% compared with the existing optimal baseline. In real cases with more complex features, performance improvement ranges from 9.4% to 39.7%. Additionally, FusionRender exhibits robust performance enhancement across various devices and browsers. © 2024 ACM.

ChestBox: Enabling Fast State Sharing for Stateful Serverless Computing with State Functions

This paper presents ChestBox, a novel approach that utilizes state functions to facilitate low-latency state sharing for stateful serverless computing. When an application function needs to share a state, the state function creates a memory space with Linux's shared memory object to store the state. Other application functions can then read the state directly from the shared memory. ChestBox enables fast state sharing that avoids excessive memory overhead without compromising on-demand resource allocation compared to existing solutions. This effectively reduces the energy consumption of serverless computing and promotes sustainable computing. The implementation of ChestBox on Apache OpenWhisk unearths two major implementation challenges, which we address with respective optimization techniques, i.e., state function channel and state swapping. The evaluation of ChestBox with four real-world applications shows that compared with the state-of-The-Art approach, it can reduce state-sharing latency by up to 99.71%, while reducing execution costs by 24.59% and storage costs by 99.76%. © 2016 IEEE.

Multi-omics data provides a wealth of information concerning disease mechanisms, which benefits the exploration of the intricate molecular phenomena underlying diseases. In recent years, considerable endeavors have been directed towards the combination of graph convolutional network, which has the powerful ability to gather information, with multi-omics learning methods to obtain more reliable results. For achieving this pursuit, an essential challenge is data integration. Against this backdrop, we propose a unified framework named multi-level knowledge integration with graph convolutional network, which effectively incorporates multiple prior knowledge and omics data to learn an intrinsic representation. In specific, the model consists of two subnetworks: an attribute-level module and a sample-level module. The former firstly aggregates the knowledge given by the prior biological graphs into low-dimensional embeddings, and then maximizes the consistency between these prior views via optimizing a contrastive loss for attaining the attribute-based representations. The latter leverages an encoder to dimensionalize the original multi-omics data to attain more dominant sample knowledge, and subsequently utilizes another contrastive loss to align these representations between multiple omics for learning the global sample-level information. Comprehensive experiments are performed to show that the proposed model surpasses other state-of-the-art methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Reliable Entropy-induced Anchor Learning for Incomplete Multi-view Subspace Clustering

Under large-scale data with missing views, fast incomplete multi-view clustering (IMVC) with anchor learning is of critical importance due to its linear complexity O(n). However, existing anchor-based methods only explore the column orthogonality of anchor points, where their arbitrary column orthogonal basis vectors have weak constraint relationships with real samples and significant deviations from more representative anchors, thereby impeding the precise representation of sample similarities. To solve this issue, we propose a Reliable Entropy-induced anchor learning for incomplete Multi-view subspace Clustering (REMC), which performs an entropy approximation term to learn more representative anchors, and we prove that the information entropy minimization can be relaxed into the 2, 1-norm paradigm. Specifically, the proposed REMC first integrates anchor learning and subspace clustering to produce multiple view-specific bipartite graphs and capture the high-order correlations by imposing these bipartite graphs with the tensor nuclear norm. Then, we fuse all the view-specific bipartite graphs to build a consensus bipartite graph with entropy approximation regularization, and hence the proposed REMC can produce a more discriminative similarity graph, preserving each non-zero element in its column close to 1, while the other elements are approaching 0. Besides, an efficient algorithm is designed to solve the proposed REMC. Numerous results show the superior performance of our method on both the complete and incomplete data. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected objects, which congregate and exchange gigantic amounts of data. Usually, predeployed embedded sensors sense this massive data. Soon, several applications of IoT are anticipated to exploit emerging 6G technology. Healthcare is one of them, where the 6G-inspired paradigm may facilitate the users to exchange information through hundreds of sensors under the assumption of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). Integration of medical sensors with AIoT is known as Artificial Intelligence of Medical Things (AIoMT). The secure and seamless interactions among 6G-enabled AIoMT users should be the primary challenge. Furthermore, resource-constrained wearable sensing devices, with their inability to execute complex security solutions, provide an ideal attraction for malicious entities to launch diverse attacks. These challenges have motivated us to design a cost-effective authenticated solution (CAS) for 6G-enabled AIoMT healthcare applications. Our CAS protocol not only prevents cyber threats like impersonation session key secrecy but it can also prevent physical threats like hardware tampering. We observe formal and informal security validations to endorse its robustness and effectiveness. Performance comparison reveals that the CAS protocol offers maximum security enrichment. Moreover, CAS is cost-effective as it has achieved 33% and 60% reduction in computation and communication overheads, respectively, compared to contemporary competing related protocols. © 2014 IEEE.

Deep learning advances neural decoding in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) tasks with convolution and attention-based methods. However, these methods struggle with capturing global spatiotemporal information due to high dimensionality, noise and inter-individual difference of fMRI, which also increase computational complexity and prior bias. To this end, a novel causal state space model, Causal fMRI-Mamba, is proposed for neural decoding and task state mapping. It effectively captures global spatiotemporal information via eliminating local redundancies and capturing long-distance dependencies. Meanwhile, a causal representation framework is designed to extract invariant high-order features and disentangle related causal features, enhancing model performance. Furthermore, a dense connection module is expanded to prevent significant causal information loss in hidden states of inter layers. On the HCP brain task state classification task, Causal fMRI-Mamba achieves better performance and generalization than comparison methods. © 2025 IEEE.
