Diffusion models benefit from instillation of task-specific information into the score function to steer the sample generation towards desired properties. Such information is coined as guidance. For example, in text-to-image synthesis, text input is encoded as guidance to generate semantically aligned images. Proper guidance inputs are closely tied to the performance of diffusion models. A common observation is that strong guidance promotes a tight alignment to the task-specific information, while reducing the diversity of the generated samples. In this paper, we provide the first theoretical study towards understanding the influence of guidance on diffusion models in the context of Gaussian mixture models. Under mild conditions, we prove that incorporating diffusion guidance not only boosts classification confidence but also diminishes distribution diversity, leading to a reduction in the differential entropy of the output distribution. Our analysis covers the widely adopted sampling schemes including those based on the SDE and ODE reverse processes, and leverages comparison inequalities for differential equations as well as the Fokker-Planck equation that characterizes the evolution of probability density function, which may be of independent theoretical interest. American Sign Language (ASL) recognition aims to recognize hand gestures, and it is a crucial solution to communicating between the deaf community and hearing people. However, existing sign language recognition algorithms still have some drawbacks, such as difficulty recognizing hand movements and low recognition accuracy for most sign language recognition. A Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN) deep residual 101 classifier-based American Sign Language identification system has been developed to address this problem. There are three main parts presents in the method. The first part is pre-processing the images to remove the noise, enhance the contrast of the picture, adjust the contrast level and smoothen the picture using various filters. The second part is the segmentation, and it’s used to partition the image using a modified canny edge detection method by removing all weak edges present in the image. Finally, classification will be done using the Modified CNN deep residual 101 classifiers. By classifying the image, the American Sign Language is accurately identified. This process is conducted through images. The outcome shows that the suggested approach has a 0.97% accuracy and a 0.05% False Positive Rate. Other CNN architectures such as resNet 50 and resNet 18 reached 0.90% and 0.80% accuracy, respectively, which is lower than our proposed method. In addition, the resNet 101 classifier effectively recognizes the difficult hand gestures through the image data. It obtains high recognition accuracy for 36 signs is 0 to 9 numbers and a to z alphabets from American Sign Language. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Neural Machine Translation Models with Attention-Based Dropout Layer

In bilingual translation,attention-based Neural Machine Translation(NMT)models are used to achieve synchrony between input and output sequences and the notion of *** model has obtained state-of-the-art performance for several language ***,there has been little work exploring useful architectures for Urdu-to-English machine *** conducted extensive Urdu-to-English translation experiments using Long short-term memory(LSTM)/Bidirectional recurrent neural networks(Bi-RNN)/Statistical recurrent unit(SRU)/Gated recurrent unit(GRU)/Convolutional neural network(CNN)and *** results show that Bi-RNN and LSTM with attention mechanism trained iteratively,with a scalable data set,make precise predictions on unseen *** trained models yielded competitive results by achieving 62.6%and 61%accuracy and 49.67 and 47.14 BLEU scores,*** a qualitative perspective,the translation of the test sets was examined manually,and it was observed that trained models tend to produce repetitive output more *** attention score produced by Bi-RNN and LSTM produced clear alignment,while GRU showed incorrect translation for words,poor alignment and lack of a clear ***,we considered refining the attention-based models by defining an additional attention-based dropout *** dropout fixes alignment errors and minimizes translation errors at the word *** empirical demonstration and comparison with their counterparts,we found improvement in the quality of the resulting translation system and a decrease in the perplexity and over-translation *** ability of the proposed model was evaluated using Arabic-English and Persian-English datasets as *** empirically concluded that adding an attention-based dropout layer helps improve GRU,SRU,and Transformer translation and is considerably more efficient in translation quality and speed.

Time series data generated by thousands of sensors are suffering data quality problems. Traditional constraint-based techniques have greatly contributed to data cleaning applications. However, cleaning methods that support expressive constraints on time series data remain insufficient. Given the notable characteristics of time series data, existing cleaning approaches are challenged to provide good repair solutions. To address the challenges, we propose a novel data cleaning method for time series which incorporates expressive constraints that support arithmetic operations between attributes and time context. In the violation detection phase, we introduce specialized violation degree quantification functions and design a violation cell discovery algorithm to identify errors hidden in time series data. In the data repairing phase, we formalize the cleaning task as a constrained optimization problem and develop a novel repair objective function that considers both modification costs and conformance degrees of constraints. We effectively reduce the repair search space through the evaluation of time-context constraints and propose a bidirectional repairing algorithm. We also provide theoretical analysis of the proposed repairing method. Experimental results on three real-world IoT datasets across five metrics demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms seven state-of-the-art cleaning techniques specialized for time series data. Specifically, we achieve a 60% improvement in repairing effectiveness and a 70% reduction in time costs with our designed cleaning strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel computerized technique for the segmentation of nuclei in hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)stained histopathology *** purpose of this study is to overcome the challenges faced in automated nuclei segmentation due to the diversity of nuclei structures that arise from differences in tissue types and staining protocols,as well as the segmentation of variable-sized and overlapping *** this extent,the approach proposed in this study uses an ensemble of the UNet architecture with various Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)architectures as encoder backbones,along with stain normalization and test time augmentation,to improve segmentation ***,this paper employs a Structure-Preserving Color Normalization(SPCN)technique as a preprocessing step for stain *** proposed model was trained and tested on both single-organ and multi-organ datasets,yielding an F1 score of 84.11%,mean Intersection over Union(IoU)of 81.67%,dice score of 84.11%,accuracy of 92.58%and precision of 83.78%on the multi-organ dataset,and an F1 score of 87.04%,mean IoU of 86.66%,dice score of 87.04%,accuracy of 96.69%and precision of 87.57%on the single-organ *** findings demonstrate that the proposed model ensemble coupled with the right pre-processing and post-processing techniques enhances nuclei segmentation capabilities.

With the rapid rise of the Industrial Internet, emails that convey a large amount of information require a strong network security environment. Aiming at the increasingly complex mail virus prevention and control work under the background of the industrial Internet, this paper designs and implements a mail anti-virus gateway system. First, design the overall process and structure of the mail virus processing system;then, design an extended mail receiving and sending protocol on the basis of the public framework, thereby ensuring the convenience of the system for use in different roles and environments. In the detection and filtering part of mail virus, an anti-virus engine containing multiple sub-function modules is designed to detect and filter viruses in mail text and attachments. Through the function test of 1000 kinds of virus mails, it is found that the mail anti-virus gateway system designed in this article can detect and filter most types of mail viruses. Compared with the virus detection on the client and server, the anti-virus gateway system has better performance And efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

The rise of smart cities is directly connected to the increasing use of vehicles. The growing vehicle utilization has driven the emergence of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs), facilitating instant information exchange among vehicles. The system provides essential information regarding road conditions, traffic patterns, and more relevant data. VANETs encompass two fundamental categories of communication exchanges, namely Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I). V2I technology facilitates the integration of cars and transportation infrastructure, enabling effective communication between vehicles and infrastructure. Nevertheless, the potential of V2I communication has various security concerns arising from prevalent security threats. Current authentication techniques encounter challenges regarding complexity, security, and privacy considerations. We designed a hash-based lightweight and anonymous authentication scheme to address the aforementioned restrictions and enhance the effectiveness of authentication in V2I architecture. This scheme effectively combines identity, password, and bio-metric to enhance resistance against impersonation, denial of service, and privileged insider attacks. The devised scheme distinguishes itself by a comparative analysis and security proofs, highlighting its superior capability in guaranteeing secure authentication in V2I communication. The comprehensive security analysis conducted formally and informally showcases the robustness of the proposed solution against several threats. The performance evaluation results show that our scheme demonstrates a decrease in the computational cost of 51.40% approximately and a reduction in communication overhead of around 22.57%. These results establish the efficiency and scalability of the proposed scheme as a viable solution for V2I architecture. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

Link prediction aims to identify potential missing triples in knowledge graphs. To get better results, some recent studies have introduced multimodal information to link prediction. However, these methods utilize multimodal information separately and neglect the complicated interaction between different modalities. In this paper, we aim at better modeling the inter-modality information and thus introduce a novel Interactive Multimodal Fusion (IMF) model to integrate knowledge from different modalities. To this end, we propose a two-stage multimodal fusion framework to preserve modality-specific knowledge as well as take advantage of the complementarity between different modalities. Instead of directly projecting different modalities into a unified space, our multimodal fusion module limits the representations of different modalities independent while leverages bilinear pooling for fusion and incorporates contrastive learning as additional constraints. Furthermore, the decision fusion module delivers the learned weighted average over the predictions of all modalities to better incorporate the complementarity of different modalities. Our approach has been demonstrated to be effective through empirical evaluations on several real-world datasets. This study addresses the challenges faced in personalized tutoring within large-scale programming courses, such as significant ability gaps among students, limited available resources, among others. For these reasons, we proposed an intelligent programming assistant, ProgMate, based on large language models (LLMs). Benefitting from the robust understanding and learning capabilities of LLM, ProgMate not only comprehensively monitors the learning process, but can also surpass human teaching in aspects such as intelligent assignment grading, identification of knowledge gaps, and assessment of learning abilities. ProgMate embodies a new 4-A digital teaching paradigm, characterized by its ability to provide precise guidance with anything, to anyone, anywhere, at any time, with features like 'omnipresence', 'adaptive guidance' and 'customization'. It facilitates the organic integration of collective teaching and individualized guidance, continuous learning, and long-term development, as well as resource efficiency and precision nurturing, offering a viable path and empirical support for the digital transformation of future education. © 2024 IEEE.
