Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by significant challenges in social interaction,communication,and repetitive *** and precise ASD detection is crucial,particularly in regions with limited diagnostic resources like *** study aims to conduct an extensive comparative analysis of various machine learning classifiers for ASD detection using facial images to identify an accurate and cost-effective solution tailored to the local *** research involves experimentation with VGG16 and MobileNet models,exploring different batch sizes,optimizers,and learning rate *** addition,the“Orange”machine learning tool is employed to evaluate classifier performance and automated image processing capabilities are utilized within the *** findings unequivocally establish VGG16 as the most effective classifier with a 5-fold cross-validation ***,VGG16,with a batch size of 2 and the Adam optimizer,trained for 100 epochs,achieves a remarkable validation accuracy of 99% and a testing accuracy of 87%.Furthermore,the model achieves an F1 score of 88%,precision of 85%,and recall of 90% on test *** validate the practical applicability of the VGG16 model with 5-fold cross-validation,the study conducts further testing on a dataset sourced fromautism centers in Pakistan,resulting in an accuracy rate of 85%.This reaffirms the model’s suitability for real-world ASD *** research offers valuable insights into classifier performance,emphasizing the potential of machine learning to deliver precise and accessible ASD diagnoses via facial image analysis.

In recent years,the use of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and graph neural networks(GNNs)to identify hyperspectral images(HSIs)has achieved excellent results,and such methods are widely used in agricultural remote sensing,geological exploration,and marine remote *** many generalization classification algorithms are designed for the purpose of learning a small number of samples,there is often a problem of a low utilization rate of position information in the empty spectral *** on this,a GNN with an autoregressive moving average(ARMA)-based smoothingfilter samples the node information in the null spectral domain and then captures the spatial information at the pixel level via spatial feature convolution;then,the null spectral domain position information lost by the CNN is located by a coordinate attention(CA)***,autoregressive,spatial convolution,and CA mechanisms are combined into multiscale features to enhance the learning capacity of the network for tiny *** conducted on the widely used Indian Pines(IP)dataset,the Botswana(BS)dataset,Houton 2013(H2013),and the WHU-Hi-HongHu(WHU)benchmark HSI dataset demonstrate that the proposed GACP technique can perform classification work with good accuracy even with a small number of training examples.

Colorectal intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer, which is mainly diagnosed using pathological images. According to the characteristics of lesions, precancerous lesions can be classified into four different grades, i.e., background, normal, low and high level. However, due to the continuity of lesion development, tissue in different stages has high similarity. Recently, visual transformers have achieved impressive results in different visual tasks, due to their capacity of capturing long-range dependencies. However, due to computational cost, transformer cannot well extract detailed feature, which is important for lesion grading. To accurately segment pathological tissues with high similarity, in this work, we embed the multi-head MLP mixer module in the transformer network to extract cell and edge information. Furthermore, we propose a hierarchical MLP decoder to facilitate multi-scale feature fusion. The proposed transformer, namely MLPFormer, achieves remarkable results against competitive baselines on the Histo-CRC Biopsy dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that MLPFormer significantly outperforms the competitive baselines, i.e., a 3% dice improvement is achieved over the SegFormer series. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

In a world brimming with new products continually, novel waste types are ubiquitous. This makes current image-based garbage classification systems difficult to perform well due to the long-tailed effects of distribution of garbage types, and necessitates an urgent and efficient garbage classification with abilities of detecting new and rare wastes and class-incremental learning for environmental sustainability. Therefore, we propose a framework of Online System of Garbage Image-Oriented Intelligent Classification, Submission, and Examination, facilitating the incremental garbage classification efforts. In which, to identify novel garbage effectively, we also introduced few-shot object detection method with two key algorithms: Two-Stage Object Detection Learning Algorithm and Dynamic Query-based Incremental Few-shot Learning Algorithm. Our experiment results show that Both outperform the current existing ones in dataset, MS COCO. Then, a strategy of Class-Incremental learning based Residual Network is proposed to meet the need of new waste class-incremental learning. The experimental results support our strategy. Finally, a prototype system employed the above algorithms and the strategy is described. © 2024 IEEE.

Online Streaming Features Causal Discovery Algorithm Based on Partial Rank Correlation

Aimedat the problem of dynamic causal discovery in the era of artificial intelligence, this article combines partial rank correlation coefficients and streaming features in the field of Bayesian network structure learning and proposes a new online streaming feature causal discovery algorithm based on partial rank correlation named the partial rank casual discovery streaming feature based algorithm. This algorithm is not only suitable for Bayesian causal structure learning in dynamic feature spaces generated by sequential streams of features but can also effectively process multivariate linear Gaussian and nonlinear non-Gaussian data. We present three main contributions. First, for arbitrarily distributed datasets, which can be generated by the additive noise model, we proved that the partial rank correlation coefficient can be used as the criterion for the conditional independence test and explored the distribution of corresponding statistics. Second, the PCSDSF algorithm redefined the relevance based on partial rank statistic prospects and then redefined conditional dependence or independence. This method can significantly reduce the number of conditional independence tests and achieves a good time performance. Finally, theoretical analysis and several experiments proved the reliability of the algorithm. A simulation showed that on average, the PCSDSF algorithm outperforms existing algorithms in terms of both the accuracy and time performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Pushing artificial intelligence(AI) from central cloud to network edge has reached board consensus in both industry and academia for materializing the vision of artificial intelligence of things(AIoT) in the sixth-generation(6G) era. This gives rise to an emerging research area known as edge intelligence, which concerns the distillation of human-like intelligence from the vast amount of data scattered at the wireless network edge. Typically, realizing edge intelligence corresponds to the processes of sensing, communication,and computation, which are coupled ingredients for data generation, exchanging, and processing, ***, conventional wireless networks design the three mentioned ingredients separately in a task-agnostic manner, which leads to difficulties in accommodating the stringent demands of ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and high capacity in emerging AI applications like auto-driving and metaverse. This thus prompts a new design paradigm of seamlessly integrated sensing, communication, and computation(ISCC) in a taskoriented manner, which comprehensively accounts for the use of the data in downstream AI tasks. In view of its growing interest, this study provides a timely overview of ISCC for edge intelligence by introducing its basic concept, design challenges, and enabling techniques, surveying the state-of-the-art advancements, and shedding light on the road ahead.

Assessing data quality through Functional Depen-dencies (FDs) is a crucial aspect of data governance. However, with the diverse range of data sources and the exponential growth in data volume, exact FDs can sometimes be impractical for real-world applications. In contrast, relaxed functional dependencies (RFDs), which allows for some flexibility in attribute value comparisons, demonstrates greater adaptability and flexibility for big data scenarios. To address the efficient discovery of RFDs, this paper proposes a novel mining method to supplement the current research gaps. By establishing a difference table for tuples, we transform the problem into a specialized minimal set covering problem. Additionally, we introduce two optimization strategies: reducing the time complexity of enumerating the left-hand side of the base RFDs to 0 (1) and decreasing the search complexity for feasible LHS attributes and threshold candidates from O(2m-l) to O(1.5m-1). We rigorously proof that our mining approach guarantees the identification of validity and minimal RFDs. Experiments on nine real-world datasets reveal that our method significantly improves efficiency compared to existing techniques. Furthermore, it uncovers more concise and higher-quality RFDs. Importantly, the RFDs extracted through our methodology exhibit better performance in downstream cleaning tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

PVDM-YOLOv8l: a solution for reliable pedestrian and vehicle detection in autonomous vehicles under adverse weather conditions

Ensuring the safe navigation of autonomous vehicles in intelligent transportation system depends on their ability to detect pedestrians and vehicles. While transformer-based models for object detection have shown remarkable advancements, accurately identifying pedestrians and vehicles in adverse weather conditions remains a challenging task. Adverse weather introduces image quality degradation, leading to issues such as low contrast, reduced visibility, blurred edges, false detection, misdetection of tiny objects, and other impediments that further complicate the accuracy of detection. This paper introduces a novel Pedestrian and Vehicle Detection Model under adverse weather conditions, denoted as PVDM-YOLOv8l. In our proposed model, we first incorporate the Swin-Transformer method, which is designed for global extraction of feature of small objects to identify in poor visibility, into the YOLOv8l backbone structure. To enhance detection accuracy and address the impact of inaccurate features on recognition performance, CBAM is integrated between the neck and head networks of YOLOv8l, aiming to gather crucial information and obtain essential data. Finally, we adopted the loss function Wise-IOU v3. This function was implemented to mitigate the adverse effects of low-quality instances by minimizing negative gradients. Additionally, we enhanced and augmented the DAWN dataset and created a custom dataset, named DAWN2024, to cater to the specific requirements of our study. To verify the superiority of PVDM-YOLOV8l, its performance was compared against several commonly used object detectors, including YOLOv3, YOLOv3-tiny, YOLOv3-spp, YOLOv5, YOLOv6, and all the versions of YOLOv8 (n, m, s, l, and x) and some traditional models. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed model achieved a 6.6%, 5.4%, 6%, and 5.1% improvement in precision, recall, F1-score and mean Average Precision (mAP) on the custom DAWN2024 dataset. As the primary cause of death globally, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) demand precise and timely prediction to enhance patient outcomes. Other examples of conventional approaches for CVD prediction include statistical models as well as machine learning models such as a single model that often struggle to address complex and comprehensive data from clinical records and Medical Imaging. To address these issues, the concept proposed here is to integrate the medical imaging data with clinical data as new apart from utilizing the hybrid CNN-GRU model to predict cardiovascular diseases with higher accuracy and interpretability. While the GRU module deals with the time sequences of clinical data including past history and other test results, the CNN module is to extract the spatial features from the medical images. Thus, by integrating these modules, it is more accurate to predict the data of the patient as a synergy of spatial and temporal arrangements. Cross-validation techniques and performance indices are used for model training and testing on a diverse data set containing imaging and other clinical-related data. Experimental results depict that the suggested hybrid CNN-GRU model performs much better than the traditional approaches and has higher levels of predicted accuracy and robustness. It is also feasible to generalize this integrated strategy to other medical disorder where multi-modal data analysis is crucial, besides enhancing the capacity to estimate CVDs. The findings underline the importance of integrating doctors' information with radiological images and applying new patterns of neural networks to augmenting clinical judgment. The suggested work is implemented using python. © 2024 IEEE.

Enhanced Privacy-Preserving WiFi Fingerprint Localization from CL Encryption

The WiFi fingerprint-based localization method is considered one of the most popular techniques for indoor localization. In INFOCOM'14, Li et al. proposed a wireless fidelity(WiFi) fingerprint localization system based on Paillier encryption, which is claimed to protect both client C 's location privacy and service provider S's database privacy. However, Yang et al. presented a practical data privacy attack in INFOCOM'18, which allows a polynomial time attacker to obtain S's database. We propose a novel WiFi fingerprint localization system based on CastagnosLaguillaumie(CL) encryption, which has a trustless setup and is efficient due to the excellent properties of CL encryption. To prevent Yang et al.'s attack, the system requires that S selects only the locations from its database that can receive the nonzero signals from all the available access points in C 's nonzero fingerprint in order to determine C's location. Security analysis shows that our scheme is secure under Li et al.'s threat model. Furthermore, to enhance the security level of privacy-preserving WiFi fingerprint localization scheme based on CL encryption, we propose a secure and efficient zero-knowledge proof protocol for the discrete logarithm relations in C's encrypted localization queries.
